HSL Chairs - Poole/Bournemouth Opiniones 

Visited the Branksome Poole HSL Store on 9/7/25 as I needed an electronic riser chair and another manual one. I chose the automatic one in which I was sitting in the store straight away, However I needed a second chair and my partner was sitting in one and he said he was used to using a manual chair and I said in that case he could use it. Unfortunately I thought the chair did the same as the electronic chair, including the rising setting. The assistant in the store did not tell me otherwise and I was not invited to sit in it to see ife I could use it (I have Parkinsons DIsease), The chairs were ordered and deivered mid September. I disscovered I have no strength to work the manual chair. Two assistantants from the Branksome Store came to my flat to witness the fact that I could not use the manual chair at all. (I live virtually opposite the store). They made little comment but reported back that couldn't use the chair and that there was no nearby power point if I wanted the electronic chair. NOT SO. A double sockede approx 18" from chair. I said I wanted to change the chair for an automatic one. HSL will only let me do this if I accept 30%noff the existing chair's value as they say it is now second hand although no-one has used it but the store assistants. hey old me to leave the fire-proof label on it, which I have done for when they took it back.
This complaint has gone back and forwards for a month without resolution. I am told today that I can use the chair for visitors. I asked "what if they are disabled?"
Having spent a working lifetime in customer services I am shocked that the store staff are not required to ask a customer to check they can use a piece of furniture before they buy it and to explain to that customer what the functions of the chair are.
Poor training and one very disappointed and dissatisfied customer. Buyer beware I think suits it best.
Since writing the above, the head of customer services has contacted me. HSL Chairs will still not acknowledge the fact that the sales staff failed to ensure that the functions of the chair concerned did not meet my requirements and they did not insist that I tried the chair before I bought it. They also do not take into account that the two sales staff from the HSL Shop visited me and could see that I was totally unable to operate it.
There is nothing moe that I can do as the full details of my original visit to the store is not being addressed by HSL.

The Poole HSL shop is super friendly and accommodating. Mary was very informative and kind to my brother who needed a riser/recliner chair. We liked the fact that the chair is made in the UK and the after care package offered. Highly recommend .

I would like to thank and praise the 2 men who delivered my neighbours HSL chair today. Jack and Darren were excellent in every way. They waited while we helped my neighbour move from her old chair, and while we hoovered the space. They helped manoeuvre the new chair into place with my neighbour in it. They carried the old chair out to my neighbours garage. They were just everything you want by way of customer service. Jack in particular was excellent in explaining how the chair worked.

The staff in the store were friendly and helpful giving plenty of time for me to make sure what I wanted. I was informed exactly when the furniture would arrive and I'm very pleased with it. It was made as good an experience as possible.

The showroom in Poole was bright and welcoming. A large variety of suites and sizes (super petite, petite, standard and grande) to try. Very knowledgeable staff who helped us choose our sofa and chairs so we got the right size, in a comfortable, relaxing environment. Large selection of fabrics to choose from. Ordering and payment simple. Suite delivered quicker than expected and kept informed well on the day of delivery timing.

Outstanding customer service and a quality product – highly recommended. Mary at the HSL store in Bournemouth/Poole gave us plenty of helpful guidance when we visited to look at riser recliner chairs. Our chair was delivered within 4 weeks by Jack and Martin who were friendly and took the time to set it up exactly where we wanted and properly explain the controls. The chair was purchased to replace an old HSL armchair which has lasted many years and is still serviceable. The build quality of the new chair seems first-rate and comparable to the armchair it replaced which is pleasantly surprising for nowadays. Overall, our experience of HSL has been excellent and we’ll certainly consider buying from them again.

Having looked on line at HSL, we choose to visit the store in Poole. We were welcomed by Emma and asked if we needed any help? And offered a coffee. After explaining what we were looking for, Emma kindly showed us what was available, encouraging us to try out the chairs . Once we had made our choice Emma then took time to let us choose, which legs we would go for and guided us thorough the extensive choice of materials . Once we had made our choice Emma guided us thorough the paperwork. I would recommend this store and found Emma friendly, helpful and not pushy.

I spent 3 hours in the shop with my 2 elderly parents (84yrs and 85yrs) and the staff were unable to provide an itemised quote due to the "new computer " system not working or only working on one laptop . In the end I requested that the quote was emailed to me . Once the quote was received my father rang the shop to place the order but was told the chairs could not be ordered until a VAT exemption form was signed - the shop assistant had already taken all the details for this - The said form was not emailed to me as promised so my father rang head office in frustration . The lady there said she could place the order and not to worry about the VAT form.
The chairs were on express delivery and a date was given for delivery. My father arranged removal of his existing chairs on the delivery morning prior to the furniture delivery . Instead of 2 chairs being delivered only one arrived . The driver advised this was all he was given . He rang head office who a agreed there was an error and delivery would be arranged asap for the other chair . My father got a call the following day advising the missing chair would be delivered the following day . My father asked if the chair arm covers would be fitted and it was confirmed they would be on the chair . The chair arrived - no arm covers! - He rang customer services again and was told they would be in the post . This whole process has been unacceptable and stressful for my parents . As a company HSL prides itself on its service but it has fallen massively short throughout this whole order from start to finish . Given the stress caused ,providing the arm rest covers free of charge as compensation would have been a nice gesture but this has not been offered and one set of armrests remain undelivered
Updated 15/07/25 - following this review I was contacted by Lauren from HSL who has investigated the issues raised and acknowledged that HSL failed to deliver their normal service in this instance. Lauren apologised on behalf of HSL and offered a satisfactory resolution to my parents.

We visited the Poole branch, purchasing a Reclining Chair, that part was fairly easy. However Payment was another story, we eventually paid ( full amount) but this took over an hour ! Your Salesperson really struggled with the online payment, to be honest if we hadn't already spent a considerable amount of time selecting the right product we would have walked out . Training definitely required on IT Skills, seems to be a reoccurring problem now especially with mature sales personnel the common excuse is " it's a new system" ?

We found HSL exceptionally easy to deal with, from entering there shop in Poole right through to the Chairs being delivered.
The shop staff gave us time and their knowledge to help us make an informed choice.
The Chairs came earlier than we expected but we did not mind as we could take advantage of them sooner.
The drivers cou.d not have been friendlier or more helpful.
A good result.

Well. We were treated very well in store, honest helpful discussion about your chairs. We weren't rushed at any point.
The delivery was excellent and on time, although we expected to be waiting at least another two weeks.
The drivers put the chairs where we wanted them and were extremely helpful and polite.

We were very impressed with the attention and atmosphere in the Bournemouth store. Mary was patient, friendly and professional during our visit. Her help was invaluable in helping us to chose the best sofa and chair to suit us both.
The interior of the store is very nice.
Would have liked to have seen the outside decor improved as it might put off customers coming in.

The sales assistant was helpful but I felt rushed. Also the fabric I chose was only available in the tiny swatch in the book, and I was told it wasn't used on any products in store or online, or in the catalogue. At the end of the purchase the assistant handed me my receipt with an attached check sheet which the assistant is supposed to go through with the buyer, but she had already ticked them all off despite not going through several of the points with me - one of which was the 7 point seating assessment. I was a little disappointed that this was all so rushed. I just hope my chair lives up to expectations.

Great welcome. Professional advice. Good range of options. Clear guidance. Appreciated that no pressure to buy and understanding of price constraints.
