Only buy if you have time to keep chasing them for updates

*** After lots of tooing and froing, the laptop was collected and repaired within days. Seems to be working very well since the repair***

Ordered a laptop on the 4th of may and didn't get it until the end of may. Ok so it's being built and that wasn't bad. By the 8th of June it had broken. Emailed and asked for help. Got some initial replies (all on 8th June 2020) then nothing. Emailed again on the 18th of June and asked for help. Was told that they would send a courier to collect and repair and to let them know when was suitable. Replied with days that were best and basically said I'm in all day every day. Now it's the 29th of June and still nothing. I know the laptops are upgraded and rebuilt, but to be honest this laptop looks like it's from the early 2000s. It's big and bulky and was very glitchy before it broke. So I've now sent an email to say I'm returning it and want a refund.

These guys "Walk on Water"

These guys "Walk on Water" as far as I am concerned. Had a very minor glitch to start with but my goodness, when they say they will fix it, it happens. All the way through the resolution process they called me and emailed me to make sure that I was up to date with what was happening. They re-established due dates for the resolution and every one was exceeded.
A superb company run by a great bunch of guys. I will certainly use them again.

Dell computer

I bought a dual monitor system, upgraded to ssd hard drive. It arrived before the planned date, fully tracked and in good condition. I emailed the company before buying and got a rapid response so thanks Jo . Computer is great straight out the box with no fuss and good quality moniters. Good job guys top Mark's. Highly recomend this company.

Never ever buy from HST

Never ever buy from HST. Not only have we had to wait over 4 weeks for a laptop, but they apologize for the inconvenience and upgraded to something better. Well this 'better' laptop isnt only smaller than the original that I bought but it turnt up in what looks to be a recycled cardboard box and no sight of its original box or instruction manuals!!

Now resolved

Update 29th June: Since posting my original review, HST have been in touch & have apologised for the delay, providing a temporary device until the laptop we had bought can be shipped.

Original review: ordered a laptop for my business on the 18th May but it's now the 22nd June and still no laptop. HST have simply stopped replying to emails, nor have they provided any form of update at all since I placed the order. Apparently the fact that we were wanting to upgrade the hard drive & memory meant a longer build time - whilst we accept this may take up to a week extra, five weeks simply can't be justified.
For context, we've managed to order another device from a competitor of HST with upgraded memory and hard drive and this actually shipped within just 5 hours of us ordering.

Updated.

I had to change my review to this company. During covid we have all had our difficulties and I felt i was rude about the services but Matt in the team soon came to my rescue. He reassured me and also helped me continue my work by sending a free laptop as mine wasnt ready.

To this day I haven't received better customer service and I will 100% be recommending people I know and using again in the future. Less than £300 and the laptops are exactly what you're looking for.

Just taken delivery of a Lenovo laptop…

Just taken delivery of a Lenovo laptop from HST. Very pleased with the service I received. Even better, when the model I originally wanted was not available, they provided me with a newer, upgraded model. Great customer service. Special mention to Jo in customer service who kept me fully updated throughout. Well done and thanks to all at HST.

Received my laptop on Friday

Received my laptop on Friday, the condition of it for a refurbished laptop is excellent. It operates really well. I would like to thank Matt and Jo for their excellent service and help. Will have no problems buying from this company again and recommending to anyone that wants a good quality refurbished laptop.

Redeemed

Had a frustrating experience to begin with and ended up cancelling my order. Matt from HST got in touch and made a very generous offer, laptop arrived 2 days later as promised. So review edited accordingly.

Not a good start but all good in the end.

After my order was placed things didn't quite go as expected, seemed to be waiting for some time for updates/dispatch dates etc. Anyway I did receive my order with a slight fault but a guy called Matt Mayes contacted me about the problem and offered a solution which I must say went far beyond what I expected hence this updated review. I must thank Matt Mayes for his intervention and if this is how they deal with problems then I most definitely would use HST again. Many thanks Matt.

Our standard build time is mentioned upon checkout stating 7 - 10 working day build time and 1 - 2 day delivery highlighted in red. Ordered a custom laptop

Ordered a custom laptop, I was expecting delays during Covid-19 lockdown but it was sent before the expected time frame. The laptop works beautifully. Securely packed and ready straight from the box. Quick responses from Andrew and very knowledgeable. Amazing support. :)

Bad experience - Resolved

UPDATE : Rating changed to 4 stars based on how they resolved and handled the query.

Ordered from this website, looking to replace my laptop that was on it's way out. The laptop did not get shipped within the specified time, so I emailed the customer services team and they got back to me saying that due to COVID, my laptop was going to be delayed and they will ask the build team to get back to me with a new ETA. Mind you, there was NO notice on the website about some COVID delay.
A week later - nothing, so I asked again. A reply reassuring me that they asked the build team for a ETA again, and then NOTHING for another week. Basically, I gave up and asked for a refund. Today it being more than a week since I asked for one, there is still no sign of the refunded money in my bank account. Only an email reply to this concern being a reassuring 'we contacted the accounts team', that is not reassuring at all. The only good thing I can say is that the customer service team replies very quickly, but it doesn't seem like the rest of the company knows what is going on.

Good communications when resolving an issue

Pc was delivered but had an fault, this was returned to the company and it was repaired and sent back in working order.
Initially the communication was poor but I understand the employee who I was interacting with had left and the impact of the Covid 19 outbreak had hindered the response, hence not replying to emails.
They have since gone above and beyond with customer service and communications. Really appreciate they resolved my issue and would happily recommend for future purchases.
Thank you again to Jo Hague and Matt Mayes for the assistance and resolution.

My PC arrived 5 days earlier than expected! Very helpful company when I contacted them about the requirements. Bought as a refurbished machine to save some money and it is great condition, better than described so very happy customer!!

Good value, great service

As I needed a sensible desktop setup, plus a decent laptop, to work from home on a limited budget I went for reconditioned PCs from HST.

I ordered:
- Desktop with 2 screens
- Laptop
I upgraded both with extra RAM and SSD.

The laptop was graded 'B' (cosmetic) - on receipt the only thing I could find was a mark where a label had been on the lid (and that only showed up when the light was at the right angle).

Both:
- Worked, without any issue, "out of the box"
- Are (compared to my old PC & laptop) blisteringly fast, and quiet

If you're looking for a good value, reconditioned, PC I would really recommend HST.
