The actual online buying experience with Hughes Electrical was fine and the next day delivery was a bonus, if only that's what is was. Hughes Electrical's courier service Arrow XL is beyond dreadful.

Fridge was due to arrive between 13:30 - 15:30 on July 24th, arrived with no warning at 08:30 on July 25th (17 hours late) due to a lorry breakdown, at no point was I informed of this, they then refused to collect the old fridge/freezer despite paying for this service.

It took over a week of complaining to get the old fridge/freezer collected and was told at one point they did collect when they delivered the new one, which was a blatant lie. Eventually was sent an e-mail at 20:50 on August 10th to be told it was going to be picked up the next day - not even the courtesy to ask if this was convenient.

To date I have received no apology from either Hughes Electrical or Arrow XL.

My advice steer very clear of both these companies. On a brighter note new fridge/freezer working well!!!

I recently bought a 100” TV, and I have to say, it was a fantastic deal. The price was really good compared to other places I checked. Plus, the delivery process was smooth and, best of all, it was free! They showed up right on time and set everything up without any hassle. I’m really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this experience to others looking for a big TV.

Hughes price is competetive, but ArrowXL delivery really needs binning off. Would leave no stars if I could. Save yourself a headache and use John Lewis if its any sort of bulky appliance or you have tricky access. Arrow really couldnt give a s**t.

Have to start by saying that Hughes Electrical are an excellent company, but, in our experience, they have been completely let down by their delivery company, ArrowXL, which in our case has resulted in our cancelling our purchase. On 2 successive Mondays, we’ve taken the day off to receive our delivery and on both occasions ArrowXL have failed to so. It’s all the more upsetting because on both Occasions I have spoken to Adam at Hughes Electrical, who is as good as it gets as a Customer Services representative, Adam was extremely polite, helpful and professional, a credit to his company, he could do no more.

You’ve caused me nothing but distress.
I booked for the 28th — clear as day,
But you moved it forward with no OK.

No call, no note, no word at all,
Just silence when I try to call.
I’ve taken time off work — unpaid!
While your support just fades and fades.

Why so hard to get it right?
Why no updates, day or night?
It shouldn’t be this tough to track,

Invoice I paid said £25 for recycling old fridge, £5 to take away rubbish

Drivers did neither. the invoice said it. I have a screenshot of invoice with this information on it.

Chose to do a click and collect for a soundbar with choosing the option of paying in store. Well i collected and got home and realised i was never charged. Due to the nature of my job i wouldnt have a chance to go back and rectify this for a few days. A few days later i recieved a phone call pretty much saying pay this off or we'll come and take it back. highly unnecessary. I was always going to pay but dont need some idiot from the shop phoning. Its not my fault your staff are mongs and cant get their job done. First time using the store. And its the last time. The Mcdonalds of electrical products.

Bought a dishwasher from this company and delivery was perfect 2 very pleasant young men who put it in our kitchen and nothing was to much to do

I requested a callback re questions on a new washing machine. Return call was prompt & I was offered a good deal. The delivery & fitting was excellent, couldn't rate it highly enough.

Appalling. Ordered fridge freezer required urgently. Changed plans waited in all morning didn’t arrive, called them said not in stock. They didn’t bother notifying me totally wasted my day off work. Will never use them again.

Ordered a TCL 55" TV to be delivered today (Saturday 24th) I was told I'd receive a time slot the day of delivery, never received one. Waited in all day and had nothing, after contacting Hughes I was told the TV was still on track to be delivered, but never turned up. Cancelled the order and bought from somewhere else. Need a new courier service.

Whilst customer service from Hughes’s was good because they use Arrow for delivery can only rate low. Had three attempted delivery days for cooker but each day cookers were damaged. First two no show no communication. Waited in all day each time as tracking app was not working and was told item still out for delivery. Now have to wait again for damaged cooker to be collected. Order cancelled.

They didn't turn up to deliver my items, rubbish company

Hall road Hughes, gentleman by the name of Kye, really helpfull, easy to talk to. Will definitely recommend.

Customer service tell lies

Bought a tumble dryer under 3 months ago, not a cheap one either. First of all sold me heat pump machine to be used in my garage, only to find out they don’t work in the cold…. They should have told me that. This new condenser dryer has worked ok for 3 months but now trips out the whole electric unit as the drum won’t turn I found out.
However customer service now has told me I have no consumer rights and the option is for hotpoiny to fix it, half a day later on the phone to hotpoiny someone is meant to be out in 3 days time after listening to all of their get out clauses.
Citizens advice told me I do have consumer rights and I can take the machine back. They sent me the wording that I should use, it’s on google. Trust me me you’ll need it with these robbing people

I ordered a rental washing machine from here and they changed my delivery date three times, my order was supposed to arrive today I waited in all day till 5pm to then be told that my order had been changed to Monday for delivery without even a call or text to be told this was happening. Absolutely useless and unprofessional company I would avoid with a barge pole.

Don't make the mistake I made. This is NOT Hughes Electrical that delivers White Goods, TV's, etc, etc.

Ordered my washing machine at 2.30 last Monday, it was delivered at 7.30 Tuesday morning. Whilst ordering I got a code for £40 off, cheaper than anywhere. Great service

Received my item last Friday, 21st Feb. Let me know when they were 10 minutes away, tipping with rain and all very helpful and cheerful. Service above and beyond. Would definitely recommend.
