My wife and I would like to express our appreciation for the wonderfully efficient and professional service provided by Diane Garsten in beginning the process of a property purchase here on the Costa del Sol.
With Diane and Jana (the very accommodating listing agent), we viewed the property at 4.30 pm one afternoon, and by 10.00am the next morning we had agreed the purchase price with the vendor, appointed a recommended lawyer, drawn up a sales agreement and paid the initial deposit to secure the purchase.
We could not believe this might happen so rapidly and therefore we have no reason not to expect an equally efficient and professional conclusion to the purchase of this dream home.

We got lucky!!

We have been lucky enough to own an apartment on the coast since 2006 and we felt the time was right for us to look for a villa as we plan to spend more time in Spain over the coming years! I flew out just as it opened up with a list of villas we had put together prior to lockdown.

I phoned a number of agents representing the ones we had in mind and to be fair Steve was the first person that came back to me and arranged to view the one we liked on the ifindmarbella.com website, I also visited a number of other villas with other vendors but to be honest Steve was the only one who took the time to ask questions about what we wanted from the villa and why the location we had chosen as opposed to everyone else was more interested in the “budget”!.

The next day Steve had compiled a list within the remit that we had talked about and within the next few days, we viewed them. My wife at the time was unable to fly out with me due to work commitments so I was actually videoing all of them to send to her but it was really helpful for me to be able to bounce my ideas and concerns off Steve who’s vast knowledge of properties became invaluable as a lot of the places would need work doing to them ie kitchens, bathrooms patios etc and Steve was able to give me rough pricing to the level of finish we required across the board.

After narrowing the search down to three properties my wife and I flew back out Spain and lucky we chose one and now have our now new home in the sun :) During the process Steve was able to introduce us to his network of people that he built up over the years being on the coast in the business, we already had a lawyer from our previous property but chose to use Juan whom he recommended and we are glad we did as it was very easy and seamless compared to our previous experience. We also decided to have quite a lot of work done on the chosen property new kitchen, bathrooms all new electrical sockets, garden walls and patios, basement alterations, and complete re-decorate. All of this Steve project managed for us employing the builder's organisation deliveries of all of the goods his assistance has been second to none there is no way would have done it as efficiently or effectively without him and the major thing for us that has always stood out is the honesty and transparency for all the costs involved.

We would 100% recommend Steve and actually admire the way he conducted himself though-out the whole process never any pressure always available to answer any questions and a really nice chap. I am happy for Steve to give my phone number to anyone who would like me to discuss any of the above or as a reference it would be my pleasure.

Steve was fantastic throughout the process of selling our house in Spain. From pre listing recommendations, through a cosmetic facelift, to listing and finally the sale itself. My husband first contacted Steve at ifindmarbella in April 2021. At this point we hadn’t yet visited Marbella so were completely clueless as to what was on offer but knew that’s where we wanted to be. Right from that first conversation Steve was informative, professional and seemed to very quickly work out what type of property and location would work best for our family. We were sent over numerous properties to have a look at and had regular contact with Steve who kept us up to date with what was going on with the property market etc. Once we were able to we flew to Marbella in August to meet with Steve. He collected myself, my husband and our two children from our hotel and gave us the tour of beautiful Marbella before showing us around several properties he had narrowed down as what he thought would work for us. So hassle free! Steve was just as great in person and it was very easy for our family to spend time with him. Our children loved him and he was so patient with them despite them being tired and cranky! Viewing properties is the part of the process we would normally dread with the hard sell etc but we didn’t get any of that with Steve. He was an absolute breath of fresh air and let us view our potential new homes without even the slightest hint of being pushy or rushing us. Infact on several occasions he pointed out things that we should be aware of and had a completely unbiased attitude to everything. I really do believe Steve would of stopped us making any bad decisions and wanted us to end up with a home we were truly delighted with. And we have. After falling in love with a property that in our dream location Steve began the negotiations and got us an absolutely fantastic deal on our new home. This didn’t come easily either but Steve was determined to get us what we wanted and fought our corner every step of the way. We were kept up to date with everything and despite pestering him daily through sheer excitement he would always happily answer our questions. The whole process was smooth and stress free for us, I’m sure Steve would of been shielding us from alot of the hiccups along the way! The purchase of the property was completed in December and we are truly over the moon with it. Our faith and trust in Steve is second to none and this is why we have chosen him to project manage the reform of our new home.

To sum it up, if you’re looking for an agent you don’t want the hard sell or ego from who is just so easy to work with (even gives you a few giggles along the way) then we can’t recommend Steve enough. Thank you IfindMarbella!

As good as it gets!

Firstly Diane helped us find properties that matched our requirements and negotiated extremely well on our behalf for the villa we chose. It was great to have someone so knowledgeable working on our side. We found a property we liked, but it needed some more work and that's where Steve came in, project managing a multitude of trades and tasks.

Steve's an excellent communicator, a person who delivers solutions not problems and one of the most trustworthy people I have met. Getting it right for you, the client, is a priority for this company, and a refreshing change. I can't recommend them highly enough.

We looked at many individual properties over the years near Marbella. However, when we really entered the buying market we made the typical UK newbie mistake by booking individual agents to look at individual properties. Big Mistake!

If you don’t know, the way it works in Spain is the estate agents all have access to all the same listings. So, if you do like we did, you pretty much end up with them all wanting to show you a list of properties which will inevitably mean one agent gets the keys to a property you have booked to see with another agent.

So what do you want as a property buyer?

You want someone that is trustworthy, listens to what you are looking for, understands your red lines and then actually spends some time using their knowledge of the area to help you build a good list. Many agents say this, but then send you a list they spent 5 minutes on with properties that completely ignore your criteria.

You may also think you have a perfect list. But what you don’t know is that Property X is outside your price range and not on your list but Steve happens to know the seller will settle in your price range.

This is where a good agent really adds value and that is why we highly recommend Steve as that is what he found for us. In fact, on our 2nd meeting with Steve we were lucky enough to have 2 properties that we were happy with. One we then went on to purchase.

In addition to all this, what make Steve unique to us and sets him apart from all the others is that even months after we bought the property and he got his commission he still helps us by recommending good window companies, building suppliers, where the closest skip is, people who come and take away items you don’t want for free etc.

If you are looking to buy a property, we can’t recommend Steve enough – book him for a couple of viewings and see for yourself.

This is our story we would like to share.
