Do not buy

Hard to get simple parts like plastic clips that break on removal of trim. Hard to get serviced. Customer service is poor. Broken promises on workshop manual. I could go on.

Need Ineos HELP!

My truck has been in for a repair for over two months now and there is no solution in site. I had an electric gate malfunction and closed on the rear quarter of my truck. The repair facility has been waiting forever for a procedure from Ineos engineers on how to properly complete the repair. This is the repair facility for the dealership that sold me the truck, not a second hand shop.

If I could give -1 I would . Terrible service from Ineos themselves and the service centres at Colchester and Chiswick . Do not buy these vehicles , they light up like a Christmas tree with warning lights . Internal heater does not get warm , been in 2 times and still not fixed , sensors keep going off , parking distance sensors play up all the time , list goes on .

It just continues to be a post-purchase disappointment. I have had this car for 6 months, and from delivery, the Apple Car Play has never worked properly. The issue is around navigation and maps and they simply don't work. There is an acknowledgement of this from the Auckland dealer and lots of "we will get back to you". They are polite but ineffectual. When you email INEOs, it's a joke. What a massive letdown in post-delivery service .... the brand might have made ambassadors but frankly... it's an also-ran experience all around.

My Ineos has been back at the dealer's…

My Ineos has been back at the dealer's site for 5 weeks whilst Ineos Technical continue to fail to diagnose a fault with the cabin heater/ aircon.

Ineos tell me that fixing this is a priority - the timelines say otherwise. Ineos appear to not care. I was told that my concern 'has now been escalated to our Aftersales Manager who will personally handle your matter.' He/she has not even contacted me, and Ineos will not share their contact details.

I wrote recorded delivery to Lynn Calder, Ineos CEO. No response, so she also doesn't care.

If you actually need a working 4x4 - look elsewhere.

Car not good enough for horrendous buying experience

Where do I start?
I was one of the very first to put my name down for an Ineos Grenadier, before the vehicle design had even been released. Such was my subscription to their mission to create the spiritual successor to the original Land Rover.
Years passed as it was developed, all the while excitement builds - configurations were completed, deposits paid etc.
Understandably, mainstream production was delayed due to post-pandemic component shortages. No problem, this was the state of the world at the time. I visited the retail partner to see the prototype demonstrator, he tells me I should be 'one of the first to receive one', excitement continues to build.
Contract received, immediately signed and returned, getting close now.

But then deliveries start. Surely having placed the order way back when it was first announced as an idea, and in possession of an email saying "Welcome to the front of the queue", I would be one of the first lucky recipients......er No! Instead, nothing. Silence.
Calls to both the Retail Partner and Ineos are either not returned or if answered provide vanilla "shouldnt be long now" type responses.
Then I start seeing them on the road, and on Auto Trader. Really sour taste starts to develop - I literally couldn't have committed to one of these cars any earlier, but it seems others managed to but I am not getting any information as to where mine is. Calls and emails to Ineos go unresponded, same with the Retail Partner.

At least with an old fashioned dealer, you have some visibility, not so with the Ineos Retail Partner model.
The out of the blue an invoice, with the following important words: "Not long now. Your Grenadier has left the factory and is on the way to your Retail Partner...Now it’s time to make your first payment".
It wasnt the first payment, and the attached invoice requested payment of vehicle in full. By now the trust had worn out, and I decided I wouldn't make any more payments until I had physically seen the car - after all it is "on the way", surely won't be much longer.....seven more weeks pass. Seven weeks to move a vehicle from northern France to norther England. You could walk it quicker.
Then I get a call, it has arrived, it will be ready in a week.

So to be clear, Ineos have asked me to pay in full for a car (balance of over £69,000), eight weeks before I would receive it. By now the Retail Partner is also chasing me to pay, so I ask is the vehicle complete?....er, No!
So hang on, both Ineos and the Retail Partner (Bowker Ribble Valley) are asking me to pay in full for vehicle that they have not told me is incomplete. This is starting to feel like a consumer violation.
Thus begins stand off, I tell them I won't take delivery or pay for the vehicle until it is complete.
Two more weeks, I chase RP: "Oh, i was going to call, most parts are here, just the roof bars missing, will you pay and take delivery?"
"OK, I concede".

Car received, bittersweet. Have been waiting three years for this, but all trust and excitement has ben eroded by Ineos and Bowker.
It is OK. Need to put it through its paces, but a few issues so far in engaging/disengaging Offroad and Wading modes, as well as diff locks. Hopefully teething issues with car and me. My son pointed out that for a vehicle designed to fill the simple, rugged 4x4 gap left by the old Defender, it is too complicated.

Ten days pass by the way - hang on, where is my free Belstaff coat? Call to Ineos, they answer "oh, it will be about 6-8 weeks before you receive the link, sorry about that".
True to form, they couldn't be bothered to keep me informed, I have to chase.
I'm done.

I really hope this vehicle is reliable, heaven knows how they would deal with a warranty issue. Am nervous about when service time comes.

So, would I recommend the car? No. It is not convincingly good enough to offset the staggeringly poor communication and lack of care from Ineos.
They don't even deserve one star.
