Statement Regarding Health Insurance Experience (Shared for Awareness Only)
This is not a defamation post, but a factual and personal account of my experience purchasing health insurance in the UAE — which I am sharing to help others avoid confusion or financial strain.
I was recently advised by an insurance agent to purchase a Rhodium policy priced at AED 15,000 — despite initially inquiring about a Takaful Emarat Silver plan, which I had identified as unsuitable due to the 12-month waiting period for pre-existing conditions.
I clearly informed the agent, in writing via WhatsApp, that I have pre-existing medical conditions. When I raised this concern, he assured me that the Rhodium policy would cover these, stating:
“Pre-existing cover is only excluded for chronic cases like pregnancy – don’t worry.”
He then requested my signature via WhatsApp and proceeded to issue the policy on my behalf.
What Happened Next:
I later discovered that no pre-existing conditions had been declared in the application.
I immediately requested cancellation of the policy, which was actioned nearly two weeks ago.
As of today, no refund has been received.
The agent who handled my case is no longer responding, and calls to the office go unanswered.
My Position:
I am respectfully requesting that my full payment of AED 15,000 be refunded, not on a pro-rata basis, but in full, due to:
The misrepresentation of coverage
The absence of transparency around pre-existing declarations
The financial difficulty this delay causes in securing new mandatory health insurance
I am prepared to escalate this matter to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), where I understand I have the right to raise a complaint, and I will be submitting full documentation, including WhatsApp records confirming my disclosure of pre-existing conditions.
Again, this statement is not intended to damage any individual or company’s reputation. It is shared as a documented, good-faith record of a consumer experience that may assist others navigating the UAE health insurance system.
After doing more investigation, it seems that the underwriting team and the admin responsible via Insurehub are Promise insurance promiseinsure.com again no one answering calls although there are people on LinkedIn I have messaged them on LinkedIN and by email still they ignore I will - this need investigation by DHA as this is not acceptable - messing with medical insurance and the potential denial of healthcare is no joke!!

Insurance hub commercial broker SSP LLC is the worst company in UAE, after getting payment they will treat you as animal, they won’t respond you at all, their numbers are not even working you cannot call them, after i paid for my car insurance the lady her name was Javeria she were asking for extra, she said insurance price is increased she keeps lying to me, kindly stay away from this company they are totally scammers, thanks

Had to cancel our policy with lifesure as we moved so as the policy still had time to run we were intitled to a rebate which we were promised but never arrived .
The woman on the phone was very vague she didn't want our policy number etc , gave her my new e-mail address and she said that she would e-mail me but did she NO. and still no rebate.

After agreeing and confirming by the employee on the start date of the insurance and the number of recovery times to be mentionedin the contract, this agreement was violated and the insurance was issued on a different date and the number of recovery times was not mentioned in contract.

I had the most amazing exp with Frannie Dean last week.
Mind you she’s not my agent. However she answered the phone and I told her my issue. It wasn’t her job at all.
Frannie was so nice to me , so kind and took my info and called me back immediately.
Frannie was able to answer my questions and get me in touch with my new agent as well.
I have one request from the company HIRE MORE FRANNIE’S.
