Not who they say they are

I've paid insurance for years with these on my washing machine which needed repaired 2 weeks ago and as it was unrepairable I was offered a choice of 2 new washing machines both which I have to pay £108 or £138 extra towards plus £39 for instalation and £39 to recycle my old machine or i can opt to recieve a cheque for £110.92 (which is an insult) if I deal with the replacement myself, ive paid a few years to this company and was suppose to get the machine cleaned ever year which never happened and always thought I got new for old with this company or I would never have used them, I agree with other reviewers they
are scammers and should not be able to carry on running a business or scam people like this! Do not deserve 1 star unfortunately I can't give less!!

AVOID this company they are a SCAM…

AVOID this company they are a SCAM outfit taking money from OAP's who do have access to the internet to research them, they make friends on the phone and worm their way into elderly peoples lives and bank accounts, Daniel works for them he is customer service, he is the post room person he is everything that a scammer is, he is also a huge liar. Please review all feedback on this company before being taken in as my mother has been. Reported to Action Fraud UK

I am appalled at their lack of service

I am appalled at their lack of service. They seem, in my experience, to take an inordinate amount of time to actually pay out on a claim. For me: The cheque they sent was lost in the post. Then they needed the bank to cancel the cheque, which had already been cancelled. They respond immediately to emails, but then don't action what they have said they would do. When eventually one contacts them again, there is an "explanation" but then little seems to happen. It took 9 weeks in all for us to get a problem solved!!! Avoid like the plague.

Complete scammers, targeting the elderly for the most part. On the plus side they've just been fined £200k by the ICO.

The disappointing aspect of this is that represents 1.1p per call, so they'll just keep making them.

They're one of many such companies who've phoned elderly relatives of mine, thankfully so far none have fallen for it. Others haven't been so lucky.

It’s a shame I cannot give less than 0 Stars. It’s really strange but we used to have D&G for our insurance work on our appliances. We got a call telling us that they had gone bust and Itsok had taken up their clients. As the appliances were brand new and still under the manufacture warranty, in two years there was no reason to call people out. BUT, they called us to say that someone would be calling us to arrange a “Health Check” on the washing machine. Over the next 18months no calls for health checks. Then of course the machine developed a problem. We called and asked for an engineer, a week later (after calling every day), a call came to arrange an appointment. A week in the future! Now this was 3 weeks without a machine. An engineer called and told us the motor and pump needed changing and someone would be in touch. Guess what…….no one called! We phoned again to be told that someone would be calling us by the end of the ………no one called. We called them in the afternoon and no one answered, the call went to a voice mail to leave our number……..no one called. Another 3 days of doing this with the same results and we were told that the machine had now been written off and we would be receiving an email with alternative appliances to chose from. Although we would be required to contribute £230 towards the cost of replacement. We chose and then we actually got a call from them, oh this was to take payment for our contribution. When will we get the new machine we asked? Oh someone will call you. Now 4 weeks on and still nothing. We tried all sorts of numbers and eventually threatened them with legal action. Guess what the next day a call to arrange delivery and would I want the old machine removing from site, obviously yes, ok that’s another £30!!!! Ok. Just get the machine here, I’ll fit it myself (oh by the way we are 69 years of age). The two blokes who delivered the new machine were about as friendly as a wasps nest. Well all up and running now, just 6 weeks after reporting and 4 visits to the laundrette at £30 a time. It’s DEFINITELY NOT OK!!
The customer service is nil. Stay clear of them. Oh by the way D&G are still operating, Do you think we were conned?
They are copied in on this but I doubt they will respond. My next job is to cancel my policy with them.

Would give them -1 if I could. Utterly shamelessly selling insurance to elderly and vulnerable people by cold calling them. Took £194 off my 86 year old Dad who at the time was partially blind. Should be investigated and closed down.

They took payment over the phone. I asked for his money back, they 'lost' the cheques (funny how they can take money electronically and instantly but pay it back by cheque). After hassling for 4 months my father has been refunded less than half of what he paid despite my explaination of the fact that he is vulnerable and elderly. I'm appalled at the immoral behaviour of this and similar companies

AVOID. Up Date On Our Washing Machine Repair. ( see review done on 10/9/21)
They could not do the repair, so they offered a deal on a replacement with a discount, Ha Ha, We could have got a new Washing Machine cheaper on line then there offers.
Told them we were not happy they said they would refund our money we paid for This years cover, Nothing for the years we paid for in the past.
We agreed BUT STILL NO REFUND SENT, after 3 months of wating.

Scammers, who target the vulnerable

Scammers. They sold my terminally ill uncle who was dying from a Brain Tumour an insurance policy for a washing machine. We have sadly lost him and the machine needed repairs. The policy is up in a month. They have held out on any type of repairs or sending an engineer. They will call for a renewal of the policy but will not honor the policy by sending an engineer to look at the machine. My Aunt is 72 a distraught widow, a carer for her special needs daughter and is reduced to washing clothes by hand. Avoid this company like the plague. They should be investigated by trading standards.

Not the service you would expect from an appliance insurer.

The most accurate review you can give to a service provider / insurance company is when you need to make a claim on the policy. I had my washing machine covered by Its OK for nearly 3 years when it stopped working. I diagnosed the fault by the internet forums and knew that it required a new door catch. Someone with an identical fault purchased the catch for £20 and following instructions fitted it themselves.
Having a policy i however decided to claim and its OK sent an engineer within 2 days.
The engineer confirmed that the door catch had seized and put a report in to its OK. He also stated that if the repair plus labour exceeded £50 then ITS OK would write off the machine and it would be replaced with a new machine.
ITSOK duly wrote off the machine and gave us a choice of 3 machines to replace our machine but we would have to make a contribution due to the age of our machine which admittingly was almost 10 years old and this was the second fault in its lifetime.
ITSOK did state that if none of the machines were acceptable to us they would contribute nearly £130 towards a new machine if we purchased it ourselves. Either method meant that ITSOK was subsidising £130 towards a replacement machine.
This was annoying as my understanding prior to making a claim was that a new machine would be provided in the event of our machine not being economical to repair.
No mention was made that i would be required to pay the majority towards the cost of the replacement.
I decided to purchase a new machine which cost £479 accepting that ITSOK would provide £130.
After 3 weeks no payment was received from ITSOK. On phoning it was acknowledged that the payment had not been sent. I requested a bank transfer instead but was informed that the payment had to be sent by cheque. WHY???
One week later - no cheque had been received. I phoned again only to be told that a cheque had been sent 10 days ago which was before the date when i was told no cheque had been sent. So one version is not correct. As i never received the cheque it is obvious which person was being dishonest.
The second call finished with ITSOK stating that they would make payment by bank transfer !!!
Having only just finished the call it is too early to say whether they have honoured this agreement or not. I will update this in 7 days with the outcome.

Update - I received a bank transfer for the full amount of £130 5 days after my phone call which included a weekend.

In the interim they have take another monthly payment for the policy for which they wont reimburse as i should have cancelled the policy. I had thought of cancelling the direct debit but was hesistant that ITSOK would then not issue my payment as they may say that the policy was now cancelled.
My advice is to avoid this company. If you have a policy or are thinking of taking a policy out ensure that you know what they will honour when making a claim and how long it would be before receiving payment compensation, if at all.
Ensure that this is confirmed in writing and not made verbally.

Watch out targeting vulnerable elderly victims

Like many others I would give zero stars. Discovered this company along with a number of other so called insurance companies have managed to get my vulnerable elderly mother to set up direct debits for insurance not needed. Reported to bank fraud team who believe my mothers account details have been sold on. This company along with 17 others have taken over £1300 in space if 4 weeks. All direct debits stopped and wihth fraud team. Watch out for your elderly relatives being targeted.

I phoned today to arrange a repair for my washing machine and they booked me in with the engineer so awaiting a call from the engineer to confirm what time they will visit. I don’t understand these bad reviews as they are not scammers at all as they explained there reason for the call and it’s clear they are not an insurance company as they are a service plan provider. I also gave my grandparents their number who are in there 90s and they have covered all their kitchen appliances. Everything is explained properly and any questions I had, it was explained well so I would strongly advise people to listen and ask questions before giving out card details as to me that’s silly thing to do. It’s a shame the company gets penalised for when a customer makes a mistake

My elderly neighbour took out a contract with It's OK to the value of £194.40. His machine is extremely old. When it broke down he asked me to phone and arrange a visit. They never came, never said why they wouldn't come. After numerous calls they agreed to they had not fulfilled their contract and agreed to refund him £90 and the account would be closed. That was 6 weeks and several phone calls ago. No cheque has arrived. Shameful abuse of a vulnerable elderly gentleman. Can't they be stopped?

My 93 year old vulnerable father was talked into a £194 plan for a washing machine that's as old as the hills, on hearing this I cancelled it and was sent an email agreeing to cancel and refund. Over a month later.. We are still waiting for the refund.
SHOCKING COMPANY IMHO.

Annoyed

Extremely rude male on the phone this morning who informed me he wasn't happy I had called him a spammer 🤣 it annoys me that in these days of GDPR how they can still phone randomly, if I want insurance I will look for it. Sadly most of these calls are actually directed at my elderly mother who lives with me.

Would have given 0 if I could. Keep away from this company at all costs. They have been happily taking my money every month until my cooker has broken and now they won’t repair it as they are saying it’s a range. I have NEVER been asked what kind it is and as far as I’m concerned a cooker is a cooker like a fridge is a fridge etc etc. It is in fact a double oven cooker. Keep away and save your money. This company is a scam.

Anyone with elderly relatives, please let them know to beware of this company. A 'Robert Smart' called my 80 yr old Father inlaw to inform him that he need cover on his washing machine, they managed to dupe him into paying £231 to cover his washing machine, but also asked him for his pin number. Fortunately I have cancelled the card and are currently on hold to the fraud dept at the bank to stop the transaction.

Avoid like the plague.

I’ve used up all my patience with these people. I was having problems with my washing machine and requested an engineer to fix it. Over many weeks I kept contacting them to send an engineer, and was eventually told that the next phone call I would receive would be from an engineer. Nothing. Another call seemed to put them in a spin as I was told that they only have 2 engineers in the area, (I live in Cumbria), one has Covid and the other is having to isolate. Do I know of anyone local who could fix it??? I suggested the company in town who I deal with, and on checking with them, was told that it’sok had rung with the same question a fortnight earlier, and were told than it needed to be done by Miele. The upshot is that I was offered £180 towards buying a new machine. That was 25 January 2021. I have rung twice since then to ask when I could expect the cheque. Excuses. It was sent on Feb 14th. We’ll cancel and send another. March 8th, I rang again. Another cheque in the post. It arrived this morning, for £140. Do I expect to get the balance owing before the year end? I won’t hold my breath. Don’t touch this ‘company’ with a barge pole. Utter scammers!
