I really like the new glute area offering more equipment besides traditional machines you’d find in any other gym. Hybrid area is great too for CrossFit. On the downside, it gets busy with lots of hog... Ver más

there was some good machines ans the sauna was really nice but i think some new machines such as a lat pull over would be needed and very popular

Jd gym Barnsley is great plenty of …
Jd gym Barnsley is great plenty of equipment and clean however I feel that the gym is lacking in classes there are hardly any running in the evening the studio is always empty more classes please could the studio not be used for much missed spinning it just seems to cater for young teens who just constantly hang around the equipment!

No AC in 30°C heat? You trying to kill your members? If the AC broken at least put up a notice somewhere. I finished my session and stepped outside into 28°C and it literally felt cold compared to inside the building

Cannot train to max as there is very little or no aircon.
Surely this is a health and safety issue , especially when doing cardio .

No Ac in the gym in this weather! Why would you not have the Air Conditioning on with temperatures as high as we are experiencing?
I started a training program around 6 weeks ago and want it to continue but cannot stay in the gym due to air conditioning being non existent!
Also, after a refurb and increasing gym membership, why do we still have broken rusty equipment that is constantly out of use and takes ages to be repaired ?

Regarding the air conditioning, we completely appreciate how important this is—particularly during warmer weather. While we do have systems in place to regulate the temperature and will ensure your feedback is passed on so this can be reviewed.
We’re also disappointed to hear about the condition of some equipment. Our teams do carry out regular maintenance checks and work closely with our equipment providers to resolve issues as quickly as possible, however we understand how frustrating it is when equipment is out of use.

Good but could easily be better
The overall set up of the gym is great but there are a couple of things that could make it better.
Not all the equipment is working properly & if it’s not working, there’s no sign on it to say a member of staff has acknowledged it & are trying to get it repaired.
There’s not enough clips on the ropes for the sleds in the Hyrox studio.
The air runners don’t have new batteries in the screens for them to work properly.
The wall balls are old, falling apart & aren’t even the right shape anymore.
There’s only 2 boxes for functional training for the entire gym.
The sleds in the Hyrox studio are the ones with the huge pole sticking out the middle so you can’t actually use them as you would in a Hyrox race.
The staff member I spoke to didn’t even leave his seat to help me when I asked him some questions about equipment.
If there’s a way to report issues with the equipment to get it fixed, can someone let us know? It’s a good gym otherwise, I just want to make it a bit better for everyone.

5 of the 8 cable machines are now not…
5 of the 8 cable machines are now not fully working, the abductor machine still faulty calf machine now out of order numerous other things still faulty and the bucket of urine still going strong in the gents . JD are asking who I am ? Why are they asking for my details , it's not as if what I am saying is false. Is it because they don't like being criticised and want to stop me.

We’re really sorry to hear about the ongoing issues you’ve raised, as this isn’t the standard we aim to provide. We understand how frustrating it is when multiple pieces of equipment are out of order and not resolved quickly, especially when it’s affecting a large part of your workout.
We’re also particularly concerned to hear about the cleanliness issue in the gents – this is not acceptable and will be escalated to the gym team.
In terms of being asked for your details, this is only so the team can investigate specific concerns more thoroughly and ensure the right actions are taken in the right club. It’s never about disregarding feedback, and we do take all comments seriously.

They have an amazing friendly staffs
They have an amazing friendly staffs. Different exercise group sessions, workout machines that gives you all that you need to get in shape. Clean changing rooms, sauna and shower after fitness, which is good for those of us going to work after exercising. I love it and will recommend it to friends and family

I have only been once but the class I attended was great and the instructor amazing. Also, everything looked clean and it was easy to find my way around.

The gym is very accessible and has good facilities, especially since the new glute zone has been added. I do have an issue however with the cleanliness of the gym. There was recently a needle on the floor outside the men’s changing rooms which my partner handed into staff as this was incredibly unsafe. The women’s changing rooms are often an issue as there is almost never any toilet roll or the sanitary bins are overflowing with sanitary products places on the floor by other gym users which is extremely unhygienic! There also always seems to be a group of younger people vaping around the gym which I’ve noticed now on various occasions. I think to improve the gym staff need to be stricter with stopping this and improve the overall cleanliness.

Our gym teams do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should become broken. I’ve been endurance athlete training…
I’ve been endurance athlete training coming up to 8 years, I have used all kinds of gyms from independents to every brand name gym in the UK. JD keeps me coming back, I find it had a good all round on equipment, especially since the refurbishment, there are a great range of PT’s, classes, but most importantly for me clientele. I love how on any given day at any given time you can visit and there are always a mixed range of size, shapes, abilities and training styles. I find the staff to be friendly & helpful. As a single, tiny 5ft 1 8st female I do not find this gym intimidating or uncomfortable like I’ve experienced at other gyms and I regularly do reccomend to friends.
