Absolutely outstanding gym with next-level customer service. From the moment you walk in, the staff make you feel genuinely welcome—not just another member. They’re approachable, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile, whether that’s helping with equipment, offering guidance, or just checking in.

The atmosphere they create is supportive, motivating, and inclusive, which makes such a difference to your overall experience. You can tell the team truly care about their members and take pride in what they do.

A fantastic place to train, backed by an even better team. Highly recommend!

I’ve been using the sauna regularly, and lately it’s been really disappointing. It’s consistently being turned off around half an hour earlier than expected, which completely defeats the purpose. Instead of a proper sauna experience, it just feels like sitting in a slightly warm room — nowhere near hot enough to be effective or relaxing.

What’s more frustrating is that this isn’t a one-off issue; it’s happening quite regularly now. If the advertised hours say the sauna is available until a certain time, it should actually be running at full temperature until then. At the moment, it feels like you’re paying for something you’re not fully getting.

I hope this gets addressed soon, because it’s really starting to impact the overall experience.

As previous people have stated more duplicate machines needed

. More staff presence needed to help with people just hanging around and messing about on machines

. A lot of treadmills get shut down after 10, I counted 12 off this evening resulting in people not being able to access machines

. I contacted the general manager to assist me with a access query and they responded asking for my details which I provided and then didn't hear back from them until some time later when I received an email from another person asking me to contact the general manager....not great customer service

So far so good. Ive only been using the cwmbran gym right now. The layout seems OK.
Its been a long while since I used a gym.
I do miss the cleaning stations to wipe down machines before use.
Unsure if thats not a thing now.

JD Gyms is a great gym with lots of good equipment and helpful staff.
Really appreciate the amount of kit and substitutions available.

The gym’s spacious and the machines’ well-maintained. Staff is very attentive and knowledgeable.

Chloe was super helpful, friendly and knowledgable when I visited the gym. She was happy to help and answered all questions I had with no trouble. Fantastic member of the team.

The gym is awesome with amazing equipment

This gym has been open for approx 3mths so many pieces of equipment have broken down. The lift has been out of order for nearly a month, today sauna out of order, three of the six shower cubicles had signs stopping you from using them. The shower water was luke warm, although the changing room is really nice it was freezing cold, colder than the actual gym. I also find it depressing that there is no natural light i.e. windows in the gym area.

Subscribed online. Company more than happy to take my money. Decided to cancel.

Had to contact them via email. Said get back to me within 10 days. It's been over a month and they still haven't gotten back to me, and still took the monthly payment.

Exploitative, manipulative practices and subscription system 20 years old. Every legit subscription service these days let's you cancel online too.

I use the gym every other day and while the facilities are still very new in Cwmbran I have not failed to get onto any piece of equipment that I require.
The facilities are clean and tidy and the locker space is great. Not really a criticism but the showers are really only luke warm and I like a hot shower after a work out.
