This gym used to be brilliant
This gym used to be brilliant, but the maintenance is pretty bad. For instance just one sink in the male changing rooms works, and it has been like that for ages.
Lockers with broken door lock are never fixed, and so on…
Showers and toilets used to be super clean before the pandemic, but not anymore, toilets stink. The cleaners are hardworking people, but either there were more cleaners before the pandemic or the number of clients have increased and the number of cleaners is still the same, as you can see cleaners never stop working so it’s not their fault. Machines with bottle water holders usually have chewing gum in them thanks to uncivilised people.
Some PT’s are very approachable, but some behave like superstars, specially the one wearing sunglasses, always in bad mood as if he was having the worst day of his life
Showers and the sauna are closed 15 min before the gym closes, but a couple of PT’s close them 30 min earlier. A couple of months ago, one of them closed the sauna one hour earlier just because.
Staff in the gym should be encouraged to talk to those clients mixing weight plates or leaving them on the floor, this is an issue that has gotten really bad in the last few months. Often you need to move several 25 kg weight plates to grab the one you need, or you find piles of plates on the floor.
Good points about the gym:
Those working there that are friendly, the atmosphere in the gym is very good, plenty of space to park, and the gym is pretty big, but it is so popular that Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesdays evening is overcrowded. Changing rooms are nice and there are some free classes for everybody

I have been a member of this gym since the day it opened. I love it! But my issue is i have seen all the great PTs leave as they say the company is very hard to work for as they “need” to work for 15 hrs a week for FREE unless they pay full rent to work from this place, so that makes sense but if you dont have alot of clients then your working for free which is a disgrace. This gym was the first JDs in glasgow and was unrivalled but this one have been left to rack and ruin. It needs a major overhaul!!!!
The other issue is the “new” PTs, they are not approachable and have that look on there face as if to say “do not apporoach me” so that sometimes comes across rude and awkward.
Even when they are out of work but still in the gym training they literally stare at members and growl at them from a distance.
I have spoke to a manager a few times on the cleanliness of this place as yes there is a cleaner but he isnt there 24/7 and the place sometimes gets very grubby.
I have asked the manager for the area managers number but have been told twice that they dont give that out and then my complaint just stops at the manager clearly

I like it, but, def room for improvement
It's so convenient for me..a 5 minute walk from my flat...I'm a returning member having left 3 yrs ago ( can't remember why...!)...nothing appears to have changed, though, obviously, some of the equipment has become more shabby looking..even old fashioned looking...see in your blogs you are upgrading elsewhere..need to upgrade Glasgow North, tbh...
There only seemed to be one member of staff visible...had a few questions to ask, but, couldn't find him...
Other members lack of gym etiquette in returning equipment to their stationary collection points results in gym weights and equipment like handles for cable machines are nowhere to be found..spent valuable minutes searching for them..gave up in the end...a constant role for staff, I would say, would be to constantly monitor equipments accessibility for clients, and, to replace , and, stack whenever needed...
The male changing area is always clean, and, fresh...it's always a pleasure to enter it...well done 👍
Overall, I like the gym...there is a nice "feel" to it..no "gym bro" intimidation going on...all ages, and, sizes of males, and, females happily doing their thing...always a good sign..
Lots of choices of areas, and, equipment for workouts, with a room full of bikes for spin class only use, I presume...not that I'd join..spin is a killer lol...
4 stars from me...in need of a bit of upgrading I'd suggest, but, really, I'm being a bit picky....it is very good value for the monthly subscription, and, I'm glad I came back to it....👍👍👍

We appreciate your feedback on the equipment and the need for our team to continually maintain and log for repair where applicable. .it's great that you enjoyed the "feel" of the gym upon your return, the variety of equipment and workout options available. We understand the frustration of missing equipment and will take your feedback into consideration as we continue to enhance the member experience.
If we are ever running on a minimum amount of staff, you can always get their attention by pushing the green "Push For Assistance" button that you will find near the entrance.

Affordable Friendly Gym
Easy and affordable to join online with no fixed contract and ability to cancel at any time after the first month.
Decent changing facilities with plenty of lockers, clean toilets, showers and a working sauna.
Friendly environment with plenty of space to train and explore the large range of equipment.

it’s a 6am opening time in Glasgow yet they sleep in constantly over 30 cars came and went from Glasgow this morning that’s a joke managers sleeping in seems to be a trend in Glasgow north

Very unhappy regarding the late payment charge
Very unhappy regarding the late payment fee. The money was taken out and put back in which made me think their was no payment to be made. I am 8 months pregnant and never made a late payment before. I am disappointed and after calling customer services they said theirs nothing they can do. I didn't receive an email either. Disappointed and reconsidering changing gyms as this has never happened before. More disappointed as I have been loyal to JD gym for years now.

Our gyms have barriers at the entrance which you can open using our contactless entry app. If you are unable to gain entry for whatever reason, there is a green button near the gates. Press that and it alerts a member of staff to your presence. Someone will come over to help.

Cable machines lack space.
The gym is great, but could do with a regig of equipment layout as cable machines are hard to use for lack of space to do a lot of movements without blocking foot flow of other gym users.
