Service beyond expectation!

I want to thank Sef and Noemi for their exceptional help with my purchase of the Force USA C 20. They Went over and beyond, then one would normally expect! They did a price match as advertised on the Johnson Fitness and Wellness website. After the purchase On Friday, May 29rh, Kevin contacted me to work out the final details of delivery. Excellent job, Kevin! The unit was shipped the following Monday and delivered the next day. Great teamwork! Thanks for the awesome service and attention to the customer.

I ordered a Bowflex Treadmill and it's been sitting in a warehouse for a week, just 30 miles from my home. I can't get anyone from Johnson to take my call, nor can I reach anyone from the worthless shipping company EFW. I paid an extra $250 for delivery and install...the worse experience I've ever encounter. If Johnson treats all paying customers like this, how can they stay in business. I guess my next step id to notify my bank and file a case in order to get my money back...unbelievable!!!

The A50 Ascent Trainer Poor Setup and Quality

The A50 Ascent Trainer is one of the high end ellipticals that is sold by Matrix (part of Johnson Fitness). Its delivery/setup was so poor bolts were loose that could have caused a major fall. Also, a major part was defective and should never have left the factory. After 6 weeks and 3 visits by technicians the machine seems to be ok although it is now intermittently squeeking.

Dishonest company with awful customer service

Do not buy products from Johnson Fitness.

The Horizon Paragon X Treadmill is an unreliable and poorly manufactured treadmill. The Horizon 7.0IC bike is a poorly made indoor spin bike made of low quality parts.

In general, Horizon gym and cardio equipment is low quality and should be avoided. The customer service provided by Horizon through their parent company Johnson Health Tech Australia is extremely low quality.

Johnson Health Tech Australia, or as it says on their website Johnson Fitness, is unwilling to honour their advertised product standards and inclusions.

The Horizon Paragon X Treadmill has:
1. This machine has multiple defects (listed below);
2. Low quality controls and poor user experience design. It is difficult to do intervals etc with the controls set as they are;
3. The Air system doesn't integrate with anything and is completely unlabelled with no guidance notes so you can't tell what you're supposed to be running on.

Don't get caught up in this marketing gimmick. Buy a different treadmill.

The Paragon X commonly ships with multiple defects, proven by multiple reviews:
1. Electric shocks every time your hand grazes the heart sensors when trying to change speed or incline
2. Unresponsive control buttons which only work if pressed in a very specific location
3. Badly machined parts and no quality control at the factory. One of the holes was machined at a different size in one of the masts and the bolt could not be secured
4. One of the holes for the tablet/phone tray was machined badly and didn't fit

The Horizon 7.0IC Indoor Cycle is also poorly constructed and was not delivered with all parts advertised:
1. The hole on the frame to attach the drink holder was too small for the bolt, showing further bad machining quality
2. The arm crank bolts for the pedals both have purposefully threaded holes so that you cannot replace them with better quality ones
3. Despite being advertised as including 3lb weights the company removed them from the webpage and refused to send them, despite screenshots (attached) showing them

Overall, poor manufacturing, poor aftersales support, and dishonest business practice.

It took 2x months to get a reply from customer support on the product issues. Then they didn't believe the problems existed so sent out a technician to double check. Then they slowly sent out the replacement parts and overall repairs took 4 months.

Johnson Fitness is a company to avoid for people who care about customer service, their own safety, and high quality products.

Dont use them to install gym equipment

Do not call this company to have anyone install gym equipment. Johnson Fitness recommended Affordable Fitness Movers to come out and finish a gym install for me. They said Affordable Fitness Movers were their installer. They charged me $200 to finish an install that took 30 minutes. Complete rip off.

I had a great experience buying a seated elliptical at Johnson Fitness. Ryan helped me at the Layton location, asking questions that helped me decide which piece of equipment would best serve my needs. He went out of his way to be fully transparent about costs and warranties. I have lower back issues and the bike gives me support I wouldn't get with a standard elliptical. I'm really happy with both the service and the workouts I'm getting! Thanks so much.

Disabled Veteran Seeking Resolution

The machine was delivered 30 Jan 26 I went to use it for the first time 11 Feb 26. I called the company about the issues and to request a replacement. I was told it would not be replaced. I asked about a refund and was told I would have to pay to ship it back plus 20%. I’m a disabled veteran with PTSD and have been back and forth with the company and suffered an episode because of the stress, with no resolution. So the machine that was supposed to improve my health is affecting it. It worked with difficulty for about 10 mins before it just stopped. I am able to get it started (with difficulty) when I stop it still looks like I’m moving. If I touch the screen it’s grayed out. The only option is to power it off and unplug it. It has been unplugged since then. The subscription trial will be done by the time it’s fixed if it gets fixed. I received parts at my house not sure what I’m expected to do with them.

Second shipment has been delayed in Oregon again. So I don’t know how to get them to send the parts, under warranty, via urgent shipping, directly to my house.

Over 6 weeks, 1500 bucks down and no treadmill

It’s been over 6 weeks since I placed my order, and the treadmill still hasn’t shipped. Turns out they sold an item that wasn’t even in stock—and they still don’t know when it will be. Communication has been rude, short, and only happens if you keep following up. No proactive updates, no ownership, just vague timelines. Extremely frustrating and misleading experience.

Just came here to post this review and based on their ratings I can see they clearly don't care about customer service. It's so sad for them to be in this industry.

Bought an elliptical from the Waukesha…

Bought an elliptical from the Waukesha store. After being reassured that I could exchange a larger screen for a smaller one for up to a month after I bought it, I went back and told them I wanted to do so. The two employees (a man named Troy was one of them), began lying to me for months. I would come into the store or call (seven or eight times) about it and would be told don’t worry about it, they will get it done, always promising soon, don’t worry about it. After a while Troy said don’t worry about it being over a month, he would see that it got done. Well, it’s now about a year later and they still refuse to replace it. They are nice when they want to sell you something but lie to your face when it comes to backing up their promises.

Bought a treadmill from Johnson…poor quality

Bought a treadmill from Johnson Fitness. After using a while started to notice white flakes. I went and asked the sales staff about this. They said not to worry that it is probably lack of use and maybe just a bit dry. After another year it now had issues on the belt vibrating. I had followed the machine and applied the oil/lubricant when told. I called for service and was told that not only was the belt bad but the whole plat needed to be replaced! They charged $200 to tell me that. Now they gave me an estimate of 480 for parts and 200 labor plus 80 to come out and fix it. My cheap treadmill from Dicks lasted longer and the only issue was the belt needing to be replaced!

Terrible customer service

Purchased a Johnson elliptical in October 2024 for over $3,000. From the start it had the same recurring fault. A technician attended 3–4 times during the warranty period, but the issue was never properly fixed.

When I tried to use it again recently, the same fault occurred. I was told I’d need to pay the full cost of repairs and technician because it’s now out of warranty, despite this being an unresolved issue reported multiple times while under warranty. Management declined to assist.

Very disappointing after-sales support for a premium-priced product. I’ve now escalated the matter to Consumer Affairs Victoria, have emailed the managing director and have also contacted A Current Affair to investigate their practices. If you have had a similar issue send me a message and we can make this a full tv investigation.

Extremely disappointed with the service…

Extremely disappointed with the service and communication.

I booked a technician back in April 2025 for two out-of-service ellipticals at my gym. I paid $343.20 for the assessment, and was told I would receive the parts list, repair quote, and next steps once the technician completed the inspection.

It’s now November and I still have no follow-up, no parts list, no quote, and no date for repairs. I have had to repeatedly chase the company for updates, re-send serial numbers, and re-explain the situation every time, which shows there is no internal tracking or continuity.

To this day, both machines remain unusable and the company has not provided any actionable information beyond acknowledging the initial visit. As a commercial business, this level of service is simply not acceptable.

I’m sharing this review so other gym owners and commercial operators are aware of the delays and lack of follow-through.

I spend over 500$ for these dumbbells with the base and they're only offering me the amount below, I knew I should've just kept them, what a bunch of rats, just to get you to spend more money, I don't even think that the recall was even that bad. Snakes and weasels, I'm so heated right now!!!!!! F*** this company!!! BowFlex Safety Recall with miniscule replacement value

Own a set of Bowflex 552 Adjustable Dumbbells bought direct. Johnson Health Tech issued a safety-based recall for these units. They are currently selling these dumbbells for $429.00, yet they are only providing a $60 credit voucher for use towards new equipment purchases. What kind of a company has a safety recall for the weights dislodging and offers a credit of 10% of the replacement value?
I have reached out to the CEO with NO REPSONSE.
Reddit has story after story of this shoddy practice.

I wouldn't recommend this company

Been having trouble getting a refund as they charged me twice for a treadmill. One with a finance loan, which is the one I wanted to go with in the first place and 2nd on my credit card. They claimed that they refunded me on my credit card, which this did not. Tried to speak with multiple people in the Des Moines area, but this has been going on for almost a month and no refund. I filed a chargeback, but am having issues with this as well. I spoke with a corporate worker as I did not know where else to turn. I was then threatened by this lady that my warranty would be revoked because of this. I explained to her that they were paid via the finance loan. Again she continued to threaten me that they would revoke my warranty because I am asking for my money back when I was charged twice. I have been given minimal help and it seems like it has been an on-going cycle. I have tried my best to be calm and know that things take time. Wells Fargo has been less then helpful in this matter since they financed me. At this point once I was threatened by whomever this lady was, wish I could remember her name, I will no longer plan on shopping with this company again. It sucks that a decent experience has turned into this. I hope that the issue is remedy at some point, but once I was threatened and told all this misinformation by someone at corporate I guess I will continue to just wait and hope Wells Fargo will help, but I would encourage them to go through a different loan servicer.
