Management of a family Trust.

The staff throughout the whole time of the Trust fund were professional,polite and understanding.In particular our Paralegal contact Samantha Dailly was great expecially following the death of the Trust holder. The team were supportive and helpful.

I'm extremely satisfied with the service provided by Jones Whyte and from Charles B and Tomas in particular. My partner and I separated and the contrast between my experience, and that which my (ex)partner experienced with another firm (Capital of France & strong metal ;-)) was truly shocking! She was charged 800+% more than I was for essentially the same service and whilst each stage of progression was turned around within 1-2 days by Jones Whyte, the other Solicitors my partner used, took 1-2 weeks. Moral of the story? It pays to do some homework before selecting which practice you use for legal support! I can't see how you'd fare any better than using Jones Whyte.

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Jones Whyte Law in relation to the handling of my late father’s and stepmother’s estates.

The firm has been dealing with these matters for approximately 3–4 years, despite straightforward wills being in place. While I fully appreciate that administering an estate involves legal processes and can take time, I find the overall timescales extremely difficult to understand and, quite frankly, unacceptable.

My father’s estate has now been finalised, and the property relating to my stepmother’s estate was sold in March 2026. However, seven months later, we are still waiting for her estate to be concluded.

One of my biggest frustrations throughout this process has been the lack of proactive communication. I would like to acknowledge that the solicitor dealing with the matter generally responds promptly when I send an email, which I do appreciate. However, there is a significant difference between responding to enquiries and keeping clients regularly informed of progress.

Having dealt with the same solicitor throughout the entire process, I would have expected greater continuity in communication, clearer explanations regarding delays and a more proactive approach to progressing matters towards a conclusion.

I don’t believe it is unreasonable to expect regular updates, particularly when matters have been ongoing for several years. Even if there is nothing new to report, a brief weekly update would provide reassurance that the matter is being actively progressed.

As both an executor and beneficiary of the estate, I have been the main point of contact with the solicitor throughout this process. Given the responsibilities that come with being an executor, I would expect to be kept properly informed without having to continually seek updates myself.

I also believe that clients should be provided with a clear breakdown of what has been completed, what remains outstanding, the reasons for any delays and, importantly, realistic estimated completion dates. After 3–4 years, I don’t feel these are unreasonable expectations. Without this information, it is incredibly difficult to understand why matters are taking so long or when they are likely to be resolved.

I appreciate that certain aspects of estate administration may be outside a solicitor’s control, but greater transparency, accountability and proactive communication should be fundamental parts of the service provided.

Losing loved ones is difficult enough without having the administration of their estates hanging over you for years. What should have been a relatively straightforward process has become an unnecessarily prolonged and frustrating experience.

Unfortunately, based on my experience over the past 3–4 years, I cannot recommend Jones Whyte Law for estate administration. I sincerely hope the remaining matters can now be brought to a conclusion without further unnecessary delays.

I spoke with Sarah Dooey today about my mother's trust fund. I cannot emphasize enough how excellent the service was that she provided. I contacted a number of Solicitors about a fairly complicated property/title issue, that I’d discovered 2 years after buying our house, that needed to be resolved asap. I was totally stressed! One of those was Jones Whyte. Ross took the time to call me, whilst he was driving between client meetings, and gave me clear, practical advice on what I should do immediately and information about each step in the rectification process. His advice was genuinely useful, very clear and gave me some reassurance that this matter could be sorted. That really helped alleviate my stress levels.
What impressed me most was that he did this without charging me for an initial review. Another firm I contacted wanted a large payment up front before they would even chat about the matter, so the contrast was noticeable.
I ended up instructing another solicitor who was able to act immediately, but I was very impressed with Ross and the way Jones Whyte dealt with my enquiry. Based on that experience, I would have been very comfortable instructing them and I’m sure anyone reading this will be able to draw their own conclusion as to whether Jones Whyte are Solicitors that genuinely have their client’s interests at heart.

They were responsive, easy to deal with.Communication was clear and self explanatory. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.
