Currently the best search engine. Well worth the monthly fee.
Using this search engine is a lot less frustrating than other options: it tends to search for what you type. However, their claim to be ad free and humane is a lie.
They prioritize search quality over criticism of some of their spending funding humanitarian crises and serve advertisements as "specials" but claim that their refusal to take payment for ad placement means those ads are not ads.
Overall, they're actively working to make search a lot better, for now. And even thought their service tends to be quite buggy, they're also very active in finding and fixing these bugs and lacking features
I've been using Kagi for the better part of a year now, and the quality of results is unmatched by any other search engine (I've tried DDG and Ecosia). The only one to come close is Google, but Google has gone down the drain over the past couple years with promoted results and AI features that can't be opted out of.
Kagi has all the quality-of-life features of Google and more. For those who *do* want AI, Kagi does offer that, but crucially, it's opt-in. Kagi doesn't serve advertisements or sponsored results, and filters out AI slop, making the results you get far more useful.
Paying for a search engine? Are you crazy?
Nope. It’s worth every penny you can spay for it. Kagi is different. Kagi works. Kagi doesn’t track you. Kagi has many friends. Kagi is more than just a search engine. The cherry on the top? Kagi is anti-AI (slops).
The only critique I can make (thus why only 4 stars out of 5) is the lack of a low income/nonprofit pricing plan. Everybody should be able to have access to Kagi no matter their financial situation. I do hope to see this change for the better in the future.
The free/tiered plan with limited searches (e.g. 300 searches a month for a paid plan, or trial amounts) can be restrictive, especially for heavier or more frequent search users. If you use search many times a day, these limits add up
Much better search results than competitors and no fears of sold data.
Well worth it if you can afford.
Fantastic web search engine. I pay the subscription, great results, no ads, and no sponsors. Real results, very accurate.
The first search engine I ever used which is at least as good as google AND protects my privacy. I use kagi all day and can‘t imagine to ever switch back to google. Once you know the kagi experience you know how nice it can be to have an add-free search.
It might sound odd to some to pay for search. But as it‘s something I use every day dozens of times at home, at work and on my mobile I‘m fine to pay for it.
With kagi you are the customer, with google you are the product they sell. I prefer being the customer.
Kagi Search is a fantastic search engine and service that I use daily. Its ad-free, privacy-focused, and highly configurable features make it one of my most important tools for both professional and personal use.
I tried it and liked it enough to get a paid subscription. Because the number of searches is limited I'm only using it when DuckDuckGo doesn't find what I want.
Kagi is definitely better than DDG or Google from my experience.
Best search engine I have used in a long time! Most privacy search engines have downsides but Kagi doesn't really have any, it's just really good. I will gladly pay for this product and message!
Great Customization and Privacy Features
I've been using the Kagi search engine and I'm really impressed. One of the standout features is the link indicators, which tell you if the website behind the link has trackers—something I really appreciate for privacy reasons.
Additionally, Kagi allows you to adapt your search experience by specifying which websites you like and which ones you don’t want to see in your results. You can even block certain websites entirely, making searches much more tailored to your preferences.
The summary feature is another highlight, as it gives a quick preview of whether the website has the content I’m looking for. This is especially helpful on mobile, where I’d rather avoid opening multiple tabs to find what I need.
Overall, Kagi offers a personalized and privacy-focused search experience that I highly recommend.
