An absolutely outstanding course of acting tuition for TV and film, as well as as the nuts and bolts of technical awareness (of crew/equipment) and continuity work. By the end of the five days Jordan will have instilled in you a mental toolbox you can use every time you go on set. Driven, it's like mental press ups every day, but you'll be a good kind of tired! Immensely satisfying and highly recommended.

I was lucky enough to attend the foundation in screen acting course on offer by Knock and Nash last week (August 2022) in Newcastle upon Tyne. I had no previous acting experience before attending so was nervous of what to expect. Jordan is a knowledgeable, approachable, friendly tutor who gets the best from his students. He will work at your pace but also push you to get the most out of you. With small class sizes you really get the benefit of a lot of one to one tuition, group work and plenty of camera time. Also, the group of students on my course were friendly, patient and offered help wherever they could, everyone helped everyone, making it an enjoyable course to be on. This course has really opened my eyes to the acting world and I will be looking out for future courses Knock and Nash put on. My advice for anyone thinking of acting, improving their skills, whatever your level is, would be to sign up to a Knock and Nash course. The wealth of knowledge Jordan can offer you is second to none, go for it!

To keep it brief: my experience was incredible and well worth both my time and money. I would happily do the course(s) they provide again. Jordan is an amazing teacher who is patient, kind and genuinely knowledgeable about any questions or thoughts you may have. You will leave the course(s) with skills in your knowledge that will be useful for your entire career.

Upon starting this course, I had already heard amazing things so was really excited. The first day I was full of nerves but Jordan helped ease them almost straight away. I remained open throughout and allowed myself to be pushed out of my comfort zone. These five days felt like five weeks, the amount of knowledge I gained. I enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish and will take every bit of knowledge gained into my career going forward. I would recommend any actor to take part in this course, absolutely amazing! Jordan is a fab tutor and such a pleasure to be around!

I did the Introduction to Screen Acting Intensive @ Liverpool. I can't recommend it enough.
Not only have I met and acted with the loveliest people, but I've also learned to get out of my head, act from the heart, and feel my feelings.
The course is intense and high-energy. In only 5 days, it equips you with all the technique you need to become a truthful and technical actor, and to build on your acting skills beyond the course.
The course is carefully and professionally designed and then adapted to each individual. I felt very accommodated. Jordan really has our best interests at heart. He knew when and how to push us out of our comfort zone without actually making us feel uncomfortable. He also had so much patience for us (even when I glitched trying to remember lines...).
I'm so glad I did this course. I wouldn't recommend any other after doing it. It's so important to bring opportunities like this to places like Liverpool. It's made me realise what I want from life so thank you Knock & Nash for lighting a fire under my proverbial! :) x

This course was THE best acting course I have ever been on! The techniques and skills I learned in one week were just unbelievable. I know that I will be able to utilise these skills to take my career forward and I can’t thank Jordan and the team enough for providing the knowledge and insight in such a short space of time. It was fast, it was full on, it was challenging but every second counted …. If you do any course then do this one! You won’t regret it!

I attended the Screen Acting Intensive course in Edinburgh and it’s honestly one of the best courses I’ve ever done. Each day is packed with useful, professional and fun exercises that challenge you as an actor, but which are so beneficial. Another fantastic thing about this course is that you actually get to act on camera everyday! I have done a few other Screen Acting courses before, but you don’t get nearly as much time actually acting on camera! You are also taught incredibly useful acting techniques that are specific to acting for screen and that you wouldn’t necessarily think of if you’re coming from a theatre background. You also get to experience what it’s like being on set and get a chance to work on different types of text and scenes, which allows for lots of variety throughout the week.

Jordan (who took our course) is brilliant. He really invests time and energy into not only the course, but into each individual actor on the course. He really tries to get the best out of you, often pushing you at times, but only because he’s observed what you’re doing and can then see what you need to do to make sure you’re giving it your all - he knows you can do it, so he helps you get there. Six is also a perfect number for the course - not too many and not too few.

I feel like I (and the others on my course) have improved so much since the start of the week when we were all a bit nervous and not quite sure what to expect. Everyone has blossomed and seems to be more confident. I was genuinely sad when this course ended and I think we all had a bit of post-course blues! I hope I get to work with the Knock & Nash team again in the future.

Just completed the five day screen acting course and it was absolutely brilliant. The course was so well structured and we covered a huge amount during the week. Our coach was so passionate and really pushed us which made the whole experience so incredibly rewarding. I would do the course again in a heartbeat.

The most inspiring drama class I have been to in many years. The tutors depth of knowledge, skill and enthusiasm was second to none. The small class size means you get detailed one to one work often missing. The most worthwhile thing I have done I a long time.

I loved the course, it was a wonderful experience and I learnt alot.I have been working as an actor for some time now so I know how to act, Jordan taught me how to be a human.

Every actor should do this course! The intensive 5 day screen acting workshop in Edinburgh was run by the wonderful Jordan, who delivered it with high energy, passion and determination to get every one of us to reach our potential in the week. It was jam packed with really useful exercises, good scripts and a scene filmed daily, ready to review in a group session the next day. The mock screen test on the last day was really useful to get feedback on too. I’ve come away with my acting toolkit crammed full, having learned so many techniques and skills to start putting in to practice. Thank you Jordan, can’t recommend this course highly enough!

It was extremely insightful and taught me so much about the industry and techniques I hadn't used or heard of before.
Coming from a musical theatre background, it was great to strip everything back and almost start afresh with a totally different approach to acting. This course has made me want to pursue screen acting as the main focus of my career and I couldn't recommend it enough!

Jordan was a great teacher, it was a challenging but extremely rewarding week that grew my confidence. The intensive 5 days worked really well for me and I personally found it a lot more beneficial than some of the classes I’ve attend in the past that have been a once class a week structure. I would recommend it to anybody wether complete beginner or experienced, the class I attended was small so we got a lot out of the experience and huge amounts of one- to - one feedback. Had lots of laughs and was sad when the week came to an end! Thanks knock and Nash!

Everyone at Knock and Nash is friendly, extremely talented and all very generous people. You meet people in this industry who always give you false promises, not these guys. I don't know how they do it but they always have time for you and when they say they will support you, they mean it. It was an absolute pleasure working with Knock and Nash, it was a real eye opener and it taught me so much about acting but also about myself. Knock and Nash really take the time to get to know you and tailor their advice to you and what best would benefit you. Jordan especially is honest, perfect with constructive criticism and super friendly. You can feel the passion and enthusiasm he brings to the sessions as soon as he steps into the room. I'm trying to think of something negative or constructive to say but I honestly have nothing. I can't wait to work with Knock and Nash again.

Knock and Nash provided an incredible, fun and very insightful course that allowed me to develop my skills as an actor. I now feel so much more confident both in front of the camera and in auditions. This course gave me the confidence to try new things in the acting world and I will forever be grateful for the experience. A great, hard working team all round.

Practical advice, training and techniques from experienced professionals. A great opportunity for Northern talent where it can be more difficult to access this kind of industry training. Would recommend.

A group of very skilled teachers, who you will learn a lot from. Having done the 10 week intensive course in Newcastle, I can say categorically that I feel so much more confident on the screen and in auditions than I did before - Knock and Nash have given me the tools to take apart my own performance work objectively, so I can see where to improve. Knock and Nash first and foremost provided a great opportunity for me to understand what it takes and how to achieve becoming an actor. The environment created by Jordan, Rachel and Maddie is fun, comfortable and thought provoking. The whole experience was great from start to finish and it's really given me a sense of direction for my acting career. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to understand and build their craft and skills.

I completed the 10 week Screen Acting Showcase course and absolutely loved it. The safe space that the Knock and Nash team created every single week for us allowed me to become completely comfortable in front of the camera. I would therefore so strongly recommend the course to anyone who feels held back by nerves or fear. The Knock and Nash team made me feel personally valued in a way that I never have in another acting course, and I can say that their classes have continued to shape the choices I make as an actor today.
