I had the opportunity to work on multiple projects that challenged me to apply my technical and creative skills in real-world scenarios. The mentorship provided was extremely supportive, offering guidance while allowing independence to innovate. The team culture encourages curiosity, collaboration, and problem-solving, making it a truly engaging learning environment. I particularly appreciated the hands-on experience with AI and web development projects, which enhanced both my technical abilities and project management skills.

We had high hopes when my daughter, a 9th-grade student, was accepted into the Ladder Internship Program, but unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing and frustrating from the very beginning.

She was assigned to work with two startup companies, and rather than being guided, mentored, or trained—as you would expect in a program aimed at high school students—she was given project work that assumed the knowledge of a college graduate in Computer Science. The expectations were completely unrealistic for a high schooler, let alone someone just starting high school.

The program provided no formal training, no structured onboarding, and no support to help students learn the tools or technologies they were expected to use. Students are left to figure everything out on their own. Unless your child is already extremely advanced and has had extensive technical training outside of school, they will struggle or fail in this program. It's more of a hands-off outsourcing setup than a learning experience.

We expected mentorship, guidance, and structured learning—what we got was pressure, confusion, and the sense that the program is more interested in using the kids for free labor than actually teaching or supporting them.

Ladder needs to seriously reevaluate its structure if it wants to serve high school students effectively. Right now, it’s not an internship—it’s an unrealistic and unsupported workload disguised as one.

I have been very appreciative for the opportunity to work with Ladder Internships this summer. After going through the application and interview process, they paired me up with a great company that I was able to work well with through online calls and communication. It has taught me a lot about what it's like working for a company in a real world setting and I know I will be able to take a lot of these skills on toward my next work.

Ladder Internships provided me with my first opportunity to work as an intern, and I am grateful for the experience that I have gained. Once I was admitted into Ladder Internships, I was paired with a company and given a job that aligned with my interests and passions. Ladder Internships has given me the chance to dive deeper into my interest in business, and taught me about the behind-the-scenes of a functioning and successful business. I better understand where I want to take my future education and career after this insightful opportunity.

Ladder Internships was the first internship I've ever done and it is an extremely fun experience!! I'm currently working on projects for a company called Kids Create Inc. and I'm helping on making prompts for their AI tool. It gives students a chance to experience actually helping and making a difference in a company. Your thoughts can potentially be the next ideas a company uses and you aren't just doing the work to say you're doing an internship, you actually learn skills that help you in the future.

I’ve had an amazing experience through ladder internships. Once I applied and got into this program, a company was chosen for me based on my interests. I’ve been guided by great and understanding leaders, and i’ve gained so many strong skills. One example is how much i’ve improved my public speaking through this internship. We do weekly meetings, where i’ve presented findings and research with my team.

Coming from a low-income background and attending a public school in the outskirts of Brazil, I never imagined I would have the opportunity to intern at an American startup. However, Ladder made it possible for me to apply my computer science skills while working with an incredible manager and a supportive team who were always attentive to my needs throughout my first professional experience. Additionally, the financial aid provided was crucial, and having a manager and team who understood that this was my first job and offered the extra support I needed has been invaluable.

I recently completed an internship through Ladder Internships, and I can't speak highly enough about the experience. From the start, the team was incredibly supportive, helping me find a placement that perfectly matched my interests and career goals. The process was smooth and well-organized, with regular check-ins to ensure everything was going well.

The internship itself was outstanding. The exposure to real-world challenges was exactly what I needed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application.

My experience!
First of all, interview in application process was my first interview ever and turned out to be very nice and comfortable. After I got accepted, I was matched with a company where I would do my internship based on my experience and the strengths I mentioned in the interview. Then, there was onboarding-also comfortable and informative. It gave me introductory information about internship and my internship company. I'm still doing my internship and I like it! Every week I have a call with the company I'm interning for and then I fill out a form. We always keep in touch and if there are any problems you can always write about it.

Ladder provides amazing hands-on experience and tons of opportunities to work in collaboration with other interns. Mentors and other staff members are incredibly helpful and friendly, always there to make sure I don't feel lost. The onboarding process helped me to become familiar with the objectives of my internship program, so I felt confident about what I was going to do. I would absolutely recommend this program to any high schooler interested in their first internship.

I have loved being able to experience what it will be like to work in the field I dream to work in. Doing this internship, it allows people of many different ages to experience the work field they want to work in, and learn many valuable new things such as time management, and stress management. I have really enjoyed doing an internship with ladder and I will recommend it to others.

The project manager is very helpful and provides plenty of assistance in the transition to a work environment. In addition, the workload is fair and involves real application of concepts, not just busywork.
