After suffering from flood damage we contacted Penny at lakeside who was super efficient, friendly and very professional.
The quote process was made easy and the guys who arrived to site to install were fantastic.

After having received a flood resilience survey, Lakeside provided an excellent quotation and fitted all the items required. They kept me up to date with developments (e.g. making of flood resilient doors) and answered all my questions swiftly. Highly recommended.

Lakeside flood solutions Carried out work we didn’t agree too , There experienced installation team (how they describe them ) fitted a NRV on the sewage section at a cost of £312 that was added to the final invoice. Which also took us over the agreed budget. When challenged about this lakeside accepted fault and gave us two options- they return and dismantle this or 50% off the original cost.
The mistake we made is excepting 50% off.
When work was completed weeks later we discovered the sewer chamber outside was flooded , Never had this problem for 20+ yrs !
I contacted lakeside who offered to return but - made it clear if it wasn’t anything to do with the NRV valve they would charge us £245 + vat attendance charge.
At this point they had lost my trust and I didn’t believe they would admit fault even if they discovered it was .
So I spent 3 hrs of my own time emptying horrid sewage water out the chamber to discover there EXPERIENCED INSTALLATION TEAM . Had actually fitted the Non return valve the wrong way around . Preventing sewage water actually leaving the chamber !

Probably one of the worst companies I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Shoody work, very expensive, don't carry out all the work, the flood pumps are not fit for purpose . They didn't do anything other than fit very expensive doors and one window for £10,000 didn't do the rendering and stopped contacting me when I pointed this out. Avoid, avoid, avoid

Lakeside recently fit two flood barriers on external doors for us. Lovely friendly company - from office staff to site guys everyone is patient and helpful. Everything is custom made specifically for each door and then the ground works and fitting are also specific to each door and all done to a high standard. The site guys all worked really hard and tidied up nicely afterwards. Would highly recommend. After flooding twice recently installing the barriers has helped ease the constant dread of flooding.

When we decided to go for a flood door we hadn’t realised that there is only one company in the UK who both manufacture and install them. Well only one we could find.
So it took a while from start to finish but we’re very pleased with the door.
Living in a conservation area we needed to know that the door would be in keeping with our surroundings.
We hope it will never be tested by a major flood but it could happen at any time. We now have peace of mind when it starts to rain and the nearby river rises!
The door looks excellent, the three Welsh gentlemen who fitted it were lovely, they worked together non stop! They arrived on time and it was completed with in around 5 hours.
It was well worth the wait!

After trying a few different companies Lakeside were able to help with difficult to fit doors. They are all great to deal with and most helpful from the sales team to the surveyors and fitters. They look good and we feel confident with the service and protection we will get. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lakeside especially as anything to do with flooding is stressful- they helped lessen the stress.

Initial contact was with Sales - Penny who we found to be super efficient, extremely fast at responding and sorted out any queries/problems at lightening speed. Penny is one of those people in a company that leaves a lasting impression for all the right reasons, how companies used to operate but seldom encountered nowadays. Shaky start due to being inundated with work but fitters arrived promptly on second date. Fitters were courteous, polite, respectful, efficient and hard working - they got the job completed in good time, neatly and quietly and even cleaned up! Flood defences look sturdy and it was worth having the additional protective covers for the permanent fixtures by the sides of the doors as it has avoided the 'industrial' look to the property. Not tried defences yet but what a massive difference in knowing they are there instead of that morbid fear every time rain is forecast in a flood plain - we feel so much more secure! Overall experience of Lakeside Flood solutions was very good and they were a very professional company to deal with. Lakeside a massive thank you!

I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation to the 2 Lakeside installation engineers for doing an absolutely outstanding job fitting the barriers to our house. The 2 gentlemen are an absolute credit to your company! They were a pleasure to have working here over the 3 days and I am now so much happier that the house will be safe from any future flood events we may have; hopefully not that many. The barriers themselves are high quality and I would expect nothing less from a first class company and in my opinion, the only company of choice for flood defence.

We are pleased with the door barrier and air brick installed on our property. Our initial enquiries were answered promptly and in full, the wait for the installation was not too long and the work completed very neatly and to a good standard. We haven't had to use the barrier yet to test it's effectiveness but for the quality of the product and the installation we would recommend Lakeside Flood Solutions.

We were recommended Lakeside by the surveyor we dealt with following flooding at my parents home in January. From start to finish we were impressed with the communication, even managing to do the installation earlier, which put my parents minds at rest. The installation itself went without incident, the lads were prompt, friendly, professional and tidy! The instructions I received were well told and shown. I hope we never use these in anger, but they look the part!!

We needed replacement flood barriers for ones which had failed. Penny, Lucas and the team were very helpful. The survey was free and they kept me well-informed throughout the experience, replying very promptly to my queries. The barriers are well-made and simple to install, although we have not had to put them to the test yet. The only downside was the long wait for the installation itself, but this was brought forward asap.

We've had nothing but issues with our doors and this company. The customer service and
communication has been truly abysmal.

The locks on the front door are of such a poor quality that one week over the year warranty the locks failed and we were made to pay them to come out and replace them.

We've had 2 flood situations and both times the french doors have failed due to poor installation.
Firstly they weren't aligned properly, so someone had to come out and spend hours re aligning them.
Second time after finding that the door wasn't sealed correctly (due to water ingress). All this communication taking over 2 months. After bringing this up to Lucas ("operations manager") I was told that I'd have to construct a box myself and fill it with water to test the door?? Whereby he also sent me the instructions. Mad. So you spend thousands of pounds on a product which is not fit for purpose as it was incorrectly installed (in more than one aspect) and then they email to say:

"we are unable to confirm the state of the door & maintenance in which the door has received since as there has been no checks carried or requested to Lakeside Flood solutions since then"

So they basically expect you to pay them incrementally to come and check the doors, just in case there might be a problem otherwise they won't honour your warranty. Being a flood door, how are you meant to test it until you get a flood and by then it's too late?!

Do yourself a favour and KEEP CLEAR.

Lakeside were our contractor, but sub-contracted the work to AP Gooch to install a sump pump in our basement.

We had numerous issues with the work over the course of about two years. Lakeside were initially helpful, but on struggling to connect with the sub contractor, lost all interest in providing a solution that we were happy with.

We have been left with a sump pump that hammers loudly each time it kicks in with both parties effectively shrugging their shoulders and saying not their problem.

At an overall project cost of c£15k that’s just not good enough.

What a brilliant experience start to finish. A massive thankyou to the team at Lakeside inc Penny, Lucas and the incredible installation boys Johnny and Mackensie who were an absolute delight. The lads were so professional and personable - did a great job and left the place spotless. They made me homesick for Wales !!

Property recently flooded so invested in barriers. After my partner doing hours of research we decided on Lakeside. Not the cheapest but these are high quality and professionally installed for peace of mind. Hope we never need them but confident we are now well protected.

I very rarely give 5 star reviews, but I'm struggling to find any reason not to!
Communications have been excellent from the outset. A prompt response requesting further information so that a timely, accurate quote was given and subsequently a good timeline for delivery and installation.
The installers were on time, efficient, considerate and helpful. Happy to recommend.

Really good service - all the way through: prompt response to my initial enquiry, followed by some good and relevant questions - to ensure they were quoting for the correct products (protection for domestic external doors). And then quickly supplied quotes and a potential installation date only 10 days ahead (unlike other firms, who have lead times of many months). The installation team also gave advice regarding an airbrick, which was a potential weakness in our defences against flooding - and they came up with the solution. Very friendly people throughout, professional, efficient and easy to deal with. Very happy to recommend Lakeside.
