These people are horrendous
These people are horrendous. I have emailed a number of times asking them to stop with their marketing emails, and they just keep coming. Very poor customer service from the team also, when I asked for a tutor, I didn’t get a reply for days and the price stated over the phone eventually was different to the price of the tutor.

I hope you're well.
I recall you emailing me regularly; however, you consistently replied from a different email address than the one you used to register with us. As a result, I was unable to access your account to ensure you were no longer contacted.
In your review, you omitted the fact that I responded promptly to your messages, asking for the original email address or a phone number so I could remove you from our system. Unfortunately, you never replied to those follow-up emails, which meant I couldn't assist you further.
To clarify, you never requested a tutor, and I have never introduced you to any tutor on our team. It appears there may be some confusion with another tutor or company.
For the past two years, due to capacity constraints, I have not been making phone calls to match clients with tutors—so no phone call took place between us. Again, I believe you may be confusing us with someone else.
Regarding the claim that I didn’t reply for days—there is no evidence of such delays in our email records.
It's a shame you've felt the need to leave a 1-star review here, I am not sure what I could've done differently here?

Hats off to Ollie Blackwell - English
Hats off to Ollie Blackwell, he has really connected with my son, who is now very engaged in his English and determined to up his GCSE score. Acting more as a mentor than a classroom teacher, my son actually looks forward to the sessions. Homework is done with interest and pride. I really wish I'd know about this last year.

We have been using Latimer for a couple of years now for both English and Maths. Both the tutors Ollie and Daniel have been absolutely fantastic with our son and we have seen a huge improvement in his work. We are now looking to include science tution too. I would 100% recommend Latimer to help you find a suitable tutor.

Started off okay. Overall unprofessional
Started off good. Prompt reply and a tutor that ‘matched’ what I was looking for was found. The price was negotiated and I was happy to start.
The first session didn’t start at the arranged time and wasn’t on teams which is what I expected from the information given. When the first session did start it went well and my son felt it was helpful. I remained in the room and did wonder whether the tutor had experience with SEN as the language and methods used by the tutor didn’t seem to be put in a way my son would understand. An initial chat with my son before tuition started could have solved this and was suggested by myself but was declined by the tutor.
My son had 4 more sessions afterwards which I was in and out of the room for. I observed a comment which I felt was inappropriate during a maths session in which trigonometry was being taught, “Can you really not see that is the longest side?”, this knocked his confidence and I felt was very condescending. The tutor was unresponsive on several occasions, even laughing at one point leading me to believe he was doing something else whilst I was paying for him to tutor my son. None of the sessions were planned out or summarised in any way which is essential to my son’s needs for routine.
The final straw was the tutors decision to teach biology. I had very clearly said that I did not want any science tuition until the start of May as I had arranged 2 hours per week locally. The response was that my son had allegedly asked for biology. I was shocked at the unprofessional behaviour of both Robin and the tutor. Robin claims that legally he cannot control how/whether tuition is carried out. He has no issue trying to charge you for it though!
Overall be very careful. I would imagine most of the tutors do what they are paid to do and tutor in the subjects they are asked to and (hopefully) have experience with any additional needs the person being tutored has. But I wouldn’t recommend using Latimer given the poor experience I had, especially if the person being tutored has additional needs.
I requested that my account be deleted which still hasn’t been done so I’d like to state here that I do not give permission for you Latimer, to continue to hold and/or use my data

Firstly, I’m glad we were able to quickly match you with a tutor and agree on pricing — it’s always our goal to start off on the right foot. That said, I apologise that the first session did not begin on time. I was not made aware of this, but I’m always happy to help arrange an alternative tutor if needed.
In terms of the lesson format, while we do provide Microsoft Teams for free, our tutors are self-employed (as required by law), and ultimately, the lesson platform, timing, content, and structure are decisions made between you and the tutor. I do encourage clients to clarify expectations directly with their tutor early on, and to reach out to me if things aren't working as expected.
Regarding your concerns about SEN support: to my knowledge, you did not request a tutor with SEN-specific qualifications — though we have many available. You selected your tutor directly from our website, and I do not intervene in those choices unless asked. I absolutely encourage parents or guardians to contact me first if they’d like help matching based on specific needs.
The suggestion for a pre-session introduction was a good one, and while I can’t compel a self-employed tutor to take that approach, I do think it’s something worth aligning on upfront. If a tutor declines reasonable requests like this, I’d always encourage you to let me know immediately so I can help resolve it or recommend someone else.
The comment made during the trigonometry session — “Can you really not see that is the longest side?” — understandably came across as discouraging. I'm very sorry if that was the case. As you didn’t raise this with me at the time, and sessions are not recorded (for compliance reasons), I cannot verify the context, but I take such concerns seriously.
If the tutor seemed distracted or unresponsive — again, I was not informed of this — but I urge any client to flag such issues to me. I want all students to have a productive and respectful learning experience, and I’m happy to intervene if standards aren’t being met.
With regard to session planning and summaries: I understand this is particularly important for students with additional needs. These are elements you can and should request from your tutor. If they aren’t provided and it affects learning, I absolutely want to know so I can help find a better-suited tutor.
You also mentioned that the tutor introduced biology against your wishes. I agree this should not have happened. If your son did ask for it, it would still have been the tutor’s responsibility to confirm with you first. Again, I was unaware this occurred, but I would have addressed it promptly if raised.
As for my legal role: I operate as an introducer under employment agency law. I vet and connect families with tutors, but I do not manage or instruct tutors on how they deliver lessons. This is both a legal limitation and a matter of professional respect for their independent status.
Regarding charges: Tutors issue their own invoices via our platform — not me personally. That said, I have systems in place to prevent or dispute any charges you believe are unfair. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if that ever arises; I will support you fully.
We work with many students who have SEN, and with open communication from the start, we generally see excellent outcomes. I regret that this wasn’t your experience and it’s a shame you didn’t loop me in the situation earlier to help resolve things.
Finally, your data deletion request was processed within 30 minutes of receipt. We do not send confirmation emails after deletion, as your data — including your email address — is erased entirely in accordance with GDPR.
Thank you again for your feedback. While I regret the outcome in this case, I remain committed to improving and supporting families — particularly those with additional needs — and welcome the opportunity to assist in the future should you reconsider.

Latimer Tuition are great - superb service and fair prices
Latimer Tuition are great. I love the personalised service - the company owners liaise with you directly over choices of tutor, and only put forward suitable candidates. This is the direct opposite of some larger platforms where you can easily browse and meet 100 tutors and they may not be right, while the platform takes a huge chunk of their earnings and as a customer you really feel the pressure of this situation.
We were put in touch with a German tutor called Alex and she has been a huge help for my daughter with her GCSE, right from the word go. Really knowledgeable, personable and effective and my daughter has gone from really disliking the subject to actively enjoying it.
The prices, and I believe Latimer's commission, are fair and their online platform works.
The only reason for giving a 4 and not a 5 is we did have a couple of technical hitches with setting up the account and understanding the process for bookings and payments - but Robin was very proactive in solving these.
Highly recommended!

My experience with Latimer Tuition was a very positive one. Robin quickly responded to my initial query and matched my son with the perfect tutor to help him with his GCSE English resit, which he successfully passed in November. The online lessons were engaging, which I think played a huge part in his success. An all round great experience and in my opinion money well spent.

Excellent service.
We have a really great tutor. My daughter has said she really values her tutoring as it helps her understand things, as her tutor puts it in ways that makes it easier for her to understand.
Latimer Tuition provides a bespoke and efficient service with clear communication and support when needed.
Their system is efficient with reminders and also things like account management are quite easy.
Overall a really great value for money service!

Really happy by the level of service to provide a qualified tutor for my daughter. They are really courteous and very quick to answer and follow up my queries. It's too early to comment on tutoring but I have high expectations. So far I am really happy with the responsiveness of the company.
