Replacement bed part was apparently…

Replacement bed part was apparently sent out on 04/06/2026. Almost a month later and no bed part has arrived. My ottoman makes a loud clunking noise when we get up and down from it. Ottoman very difficult to close. Clearly the bed is faulty and the part was likely never sent out.

Contacted a week ago asking where is the replacement part and have heard nothing back. Will contact Trading Standards and start a chargeback.

I don’t even think this review would grab their attention. Not happy. Avoid.

Avoid - Awful Experience

Awful, Avoid
Very poor experience, so bad I have now requested a full refund and will report back with an update on how they handle this and how quickly they do it.
My order was placed on 18 May with a promised delivery by 17 June. It arrived late, incomplete, and split across multiple deliveries, with items still missing.
Here we are 5 weeks on and there has been no clear communication, no reliable tracking, and no firm delivery date for the remaining products. Customer service was unhelpful and at times unprofessional. Their “marketing department” even called me to ask for a feedback survey to be completed to show how much I enjoying my furniture. It has not even been delivered!!
They took full payment upfront but failed to deliver the service promised.
I’ll share an update on how well they handle my refund request.
Please avoid - I would not recommend.

UPDATE: 8 days later, and still no resolution. Interestingly this business respond on TrustPilot on the next day!... with the standard text they copy and paste to every customer with an issue. With me directly, it took them 3 days before saying a "Customer Service Team Lead" would call and they failed twice in the last 8 days to do that.

NO NOT TAKE THE RISK this company does not deserve your custom.

Waiting over 6 weeks for an order

Waiting over 6 weeks for an order, delivery delayed already, excuses about DHL being busy, wish wed gone somewhere else, incredibly poor systems for a company charging £900 for a table

Not fit for purpose.

I bought a lovely looking garden furniture set of 2 chairs and a small table in or around the summer of 2023. I used the chairs around 12 times until October when I put the set into my shed for the cooler, wet months. The following spring, around May 2024, I brought out the set until October 24 after seldom sitting on the chairs in the garden ( around 10 times). Last spring, around May ‘25, I again brought out the set from the shed. After sitting on both chairs for about 3 times the plastic coated wire that was woven around the frames began to snap. On close inspection I noticed little cracks in the entirety of the woven wire on both chairs. Therefore the chairs were beyond repair and the wire could not support any weight. (I weigh just under 11 stones/70kg). I contacted Laura James Furniture to explain how the chairs had not been used much, were protected from the elements and well looked after, only used by myself and my teenage son. Owing to the product being out of the guarantee period and discontinuation of the product; the company offered no compensation whatsoever. Apart from being able to use the little table ( presumably because the wire is underneath glass) and not required to bear any weight at all; I lost around £200 as sadly the chairs were not fit for purpose. I consider the response by this company to be unsatisfactory and I cannot afford to replace the chairs.

Avoid like the plague

Last summer I ordered the Amelia 8 Seater Natural Wood Black Legs Garden Dining Set that came with 8 Hali Natural Chairs at a cost of £1,079.99. I also ordered the Medium Rectangular Garden Furniture Cover recommended for the Amelia & Hali Sets costing £34.99 so a total of £1115 in total. The cover did not fit the table and chairs so I ordered a set of tarpaulin clips to try and improve the fit. When I took the cover off in spring, the surface of the table had peeled - the cover does not protect the furniture from the elements. Laura James sent me a replacement table top in April 2026 which was bent and wonky. I sent them pictures and they have dragged their feet, been uncooperative and not provided any sort of customer service. Currently I am £1115+ down and on the verge of issuing proceedings in the small claims. A nightmare company to deal with and the goods I received were extremely poor quality.

Bed is nice, annoying company to deal with, missing piece also

Ordered the Alice ottoman king bed, took a while to come, had to get onto delivery company. Also didn’t arrive with the fabric underlayer which was annoying. Bed took about 3 hrs with two people. Instructions aren’t great.

Non-existent customer service

Non-existent customer service. I ordered outside furniture and after reading some awful reviews about the poor quality and assembly of the items I emailed to advise that I was cancelling the order (one hour later) - no response or reply from the company. Then another email to say the product was on its way and I would hear from the courier company in 24-48 hours. Again another email to advise the goods would not be accepted since cancelled. Still no reply and no contact from delivery company (past the 48 hours). Will now raise a charge back with my credit card company and refuse to accept delivery if it ever turns up. Very poor experience based on non engagement from the company - not surprised based on the reviews.
Usual - asked by company to provide my details and order number which I did by return and NO contact from the company - equally for Irish customers no Irish contact telephone number and online help - no response either. The message is clear here AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

I had ordered a couple of upholstered…

I had ordered a couple of upholstered dining chairs to match six I had already from Laura James. They arrived and I was very pleased with them. However, the colour of the legs was not what I had ordered. I contacted LJ and have been dealing with customer service advisor, Zayaan. She has been so helpful and organised for two sets of correct legs to bent to me. Unfortunately, the wrapping on the legs had been done incorrectly and when they arrived, they were exactly the same as the ones we already had. Another email to Zayaan, who apologised for the error (not hers) and has now re-ordered the correct colour wood legs. I cannot fault in any way how Zayaan has dealt with me. She has always appeared pleasant and courteous and is an excellent representative of Laura James. Thank you very much Zayaan.

A follow on from the last review

A follow on from the last review, the company sent me the slaths without my knowledge. I never asked for or agreed to them. They told me on numerous occasions they would send a courier to collect them and today they have asked would I dispose of them. They say they have rung you when they haven’t, I respond to emails and they take days to respond back. The service is appalling. At this stage I don’t want anything to do
with this company just to take back the very large package that is sitting in my hall way.
Poor quality good but worse customer service.

Disappointing service from untrained…

Disappointing service from untrained members of staff. Emails went unanswered, and I was kept on hold for 26 minutes just to speak to a manager. Truly disappointing.

Repeated errors with sending correctly sized outdoor covers

We purchased a Kemble bistro set this spring and went on to purchase an outdoor furniture cover specifically for the bistro set

1.The first cover arrived incorrectly labelled and twice as big the bistro set
.
2. Replacement offered with a promise that the item would be quality checked before sending to ensure it was the exact cover . When this arrived it was the exact same enormous cover that had been sent previously

3. Cover number 3 arrived this time labelled as Kemble bistro cover but again when opened is way too large and completely different dimensions to the item we purchased on the website.

We are currently awaiting a response from Laura James to the photographs we sent them and in the meantime are left with three oversized rain covers which are unusable

Missing radiator cover

I am extremely disappointed with the…

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I have received from Laura James regarding my faulty table. The table was delivered with a defect, which became obvious after assembly, as the legs are wobbly and the item is not stable.
I have made repeated follow-ups over the course of more than a month, including around 20–25 emails and calls, and I have also sent photographs and explained the issue multiple times. Despite this, many of my emails were ignored, and responses were often only sent after repeated reminders.
I was eventually told: “It has been confirmed that the Jay table was inspected and no faults were identified. As a result, we are unable to provide a replacement for this item.” I am amazed that the table was apparently inspected without anyone seeing the actual item or visiting to assess it properly.
This is not an acceptable way to handle a clear fault reported shortly after assembly. I have never come across such poor customer service, and I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the way this has been managed.
I expect this matter to be reviewed properly, with a genuine inspection of the item and a fair resolution. At this stage, I would strongly advise other customers to think carefully before purchasing from Laura James
