We booked a private room at Dakota Glasgow on West Regent Street for my wife's birthday party, and it was an incredible experience. The staff took care of all our needs effortlessly, embracing the surprise element of the occasion. A special thank you to Hailey, who was fantastic.

The food was outstanding, and the private room itself was beautifully decorated and inviting. I can't emphasize enough how exceptional this place is—five stars doesn’t truly capture the quality of our experience. For a special occasion, I wholeheartedly recommend this venue. It was absolutely stunning i cannot rate this place high enough. Absolutely stunning.

Newcastle Dakota - 2nd time I’ve stayed here and can’t fault anything. From the welcome at the door and reception to the immaculate and welcoming rooms. Have already recommended and will continue to.

I enjoyed a fantastic visit with exceptional meals and outstanding service, just as always. A big shoutout to Louis for making it such a wonderful experience! Absolutely delightful!

On the exclusive evening of November 29th, Berry's Jewellers warmly welcomed their esteemed patrons to Dakota, where they unveiled their exquisite jewellery collections. Throughout the night, guests indulged in delightful canapés and cocktails that truly impressed everyone. Luka and Lewis exhibited remarkable professionalism, ensuring a top-notch experience for all attendees.

Lovely stay at Dakota. From the time we entered the hotel to the time we left! Very impressed with the service and staff members . Lily was helpful on reception and great customer service . Planning my next trip down to Dakota soon.

Having stayed at Dakota hotels in both Manchester and Leeds – and knowing one had just opened in Newcastle – we decided it was the perfect choice for our next night out. With it only recently opened (12 weeks in), we were hoping for that fresh, exciting vibe and a smooth stay beyond the “teething problem” stage.

🛎️ Booking Experience
Booking directly via their website sounded simple but ended up being a bit of a puzzle.
They offered discount codes (only valid on some rates), multiple packages like:
• “Stay, Dine, Indulge” – includes £40pp dinner credit, breakfast, upgrade (if available), late checkout
• “Quay to the City”, “Insider Rooms” for members, flexible vs. prepaid, with or without breakfast…
There are 8 room types from Classic Double to Deluxe Grand Suite.
We booked the Eat, Sleep, Dakota package at £301.25, which included:
✔️ Overnight stay for 2
✔️ £40 per person towards dinner in The Grill
✔️ Breakfast
✔️ Complimentary mini fridge (we didn’t realise this was included – so didn’t touch it!)
✔️ Junior Suite with a view
✔️ Turndown service

🚗 Arrival & Parking
The hotel has the usual Dakota elegance – dark, moody, and stylish.
Staff were super pleasant and helpful — check-in was warm and welcoming without being over the top.
✨ We were very pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Superior Suite with a stunning view over the River Tyne 🌉

🛏️ The Room
Absolutely gorgeous.
🛌 Possibly the comfiest bed and pillow I’ve ever slept on – and a good night’s sleep means everything.
🥂 The fridge (which we didn’t realise was complimentary) was fully stocked:
Red & white wine, full & diet Coke, milk, lager, water, and snacks.
💺 There was a desk, a cosy seating area, and a TV cleverly split across a room divider (one side was a mirror – though it muffled the sound slightly).
🛁 The bathroom was stunning – a deep bath and a double head shower setup.
👘 Robes were small in size – worth noting.
🧼 Cleanliness:
• Looked spotless at first glance
• Under UV light: some missed areas on lamps, phone, switches
• Bathroom was immaculate
• Kettle, coffee machine & surrounding surfaces were areas for concern under the UV light – enough to put us off using them

🍽️ Dinner & Drinks
We ordered a bottle of house white – didn’t specify anything fancy. Only found out the price in the morning 😬 (over £60)
Dinner in the Grill had ups and downs:
✅ Service was polished, staff well-trained
🥖 Pre-starter: Honey bread & dip – lovely
🍽️ Starters: Single scallop & chicken pasta – both tasty (pasta was a bit thick for my liking)
🥩 Mains: Chateaubriand – took ages, arrived cold, and was more rare than medium rare. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat most of it.
After dinner, we discovered the cigar lounge / outdoor-indoor space – a real highlight! Clean, comfy, warm (heater provided), and beautifully styled.

Standard fire doors and signage throughout. Room had a detailed evacuation plan. Fire extinguisher just outside the door.

🍳 Breakfast
Back in the Grill, breakfast helped redeem the stay a little.
We both had Eggs Benedict – beautifully presented, perfectly poached eggs, good hollandaise, and nicely toasted muffins.
🍞 There was also a buffet of pastries, fruit, juice, and proper coffee.
Staff were polite and attentive. Calm atmosphere and a strong finish to the stay.

💳 A Note on Billing
After our stay, we noticed we’d been overcharged — something that hadn’t been made clear at checkout. We had to contact the hotel directly to get the money refunded. While it was sorted in the end, it wasn’t ideal and definitely took the shine off what should have been a relaxed experience.
📝 Overall Verdict & Star Ratings
A stylish stay with some real highlights – the room upgrade, comfy bed, and bathroom especially. But dinner missed the mark, and there were a few cleanliness oversights.
The hotel has huge potential, and we’d definitely try again.
We’d also love to see them open their doors to dogs in future 🐾

me and my partner went to the dakota hotel in Manchester for brunch service and food was amazing Jordan especially who did an amazing job explaining all about the cigars they offer they really made me and my partner feel special for his 30th birthday, we hope to stay in our next visit to manchester

Tv wasn’t working reported it to staff no one came to fix it. Menu very limited and expensive. Staff not proactive in taken food orders have to call them over everytime I’ve stayed here. Very dark place no directional signage to reception or lifts. Keep taking high deposits for the room I was told that my card wouldn’t be debited and this constantly kept happening and constantly had to keep going to get a refund. Would never recommend or stay at this hotel again. Service inadequate. This hotel thinks it better than it is. Complain to receptionist she wasn’t that interested.got a parking fine because of an error on there system also had to get refunded. I have never had such a bad experience in 1 hotel.

We booked at the Dakota Manchester and by mistake booked for the 3rd and 4th aug instead of the 13th and 14th July through agoda . We rang hotel to tell them and asked if we could change dates in plenty of time . The reply we got was NO . So I have had to re book for them dates and lost £117 with the Dakota Manchester hotel . May be a nice hotel but the customer service is disgraceful . Ps it is £45 to park there also .

I stay at a lot of hotels for work, but I was blown away by the service of the staff and the quality of the Dakota Hotel in Edinburgh.

From reception, to bar staff and waiting staff, my experience is the best hotel stay I have experienced in many years.

A massive well done to the team, in particular Liam who looked after me in the bar and restaurant last night.

I stayed at the Dakota in Leeds on the 26th and really enjoyed my stay. I liked the décor, and they provided a room with a bath as I had requested. The staff were great—I met both David and Jonathan I think these were the names, and they were amazing, going above and beyond. The bar is also nice! The only issue I had and I’m a small guy is that even though the bed was a double, it felt small. This could be as I sleep on a king or queen. I certainly would return to the hotel. I really enjoyed my stay and the CX was top notch.

Berry’s Jewellers invited their valued clients to Dakota for an exclusive evening on 29th November , showcasing their fine jewellery collections. Amazing canapés and cocktails flowed all evening. I can honestly say on behalf of our guests they were incredible.
Luka and Lewis were a professional team, making sure our guests received a five star experience!

Love the hotel. Stylish rooms and a great steak restaurant and bar. We also visit at least a few times every year!

Lisa, Nathan, Kristi and two more sweet ladies made our breakfast experience amazing every single day. It was amazing!!

Nathan was so sweet with our two boys every time he saw them,got them a few cookies, sweetlig talked to them to find out how they were doing and he also made sure to work on their dogieebags to take with to the airport as we had an early flight:)

I mean, we really enjoyed our stay 100%
The receptionists were very accomodating and amazingly helpful.

Dakota Manchester - I visited with my teenage son for lounge food. We were served by Euan, Felix and Henry who were fabulous!! The food was gorgeous, the surroundings luxurious and it was a real treat, can't wait to go again!

Dakota Hotel Edinburugh.
Amazing. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Lovely room with everything you need for your stay. House keeping are fantastic, we stayed a couple of nights and the room was refreshed during the day. Has coffee maching, bonus. Reserved a table in the bar n grill and the food was so nice. Serving staff were very professional and same for breakfast. Barman was very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him. Thank you Dakota staff, we had a perfect stay. Appreciation to you all. We will definitely be visiting this hotel again.

Went for Sunday Dinner. Lovely food and service.
Had Prosecco and cake for free as it was my Birthday.
