I know it's pretty dry but very important when you're running a web design and conversion agency and dealing with things like ensuring IP ownership clarity in client website builds and integrations and managing liability from client website performance claims under your service agreements.

No pressure - I have no idea if you're covered on this stuff yet and I'm sure you're stretched with the recent magazine collaboration and ongoing media updates (all the best).

For now, do you mind if I just share how similar web design and conversion agencies set this up so legal work basically disappears into the background?

Through and Through the best service a startup could get to navigate the trials and tribulations of the UK startup world.

I had a generally good experience with LegalVision during the initial 12-month period. Their legal work was professional, efficient, and helpful, and I was happy with the quality of what they delivered.
However, the issue came after the 12-month contract ended. I entered into the agreement believing it was a fixed-term contract, so I expected everything — including payments — to stop at the end of that period.
Instead, they continued to direct debit my account around $850 without clearly informing me that the service would automatically roll over. This was very frustrating and felt quite misleading. At no point was it made obvious (in a clear and upfront way) that I would need to actively cancel to stop further charges.
To stop the payments, I had to contact them and explicitly request cancellation, which they then wouldn't except & said they would put my account on hold for 3 months which I don’t think is fair if customers believe they are signing up for a fixed-term agreement.
While the quality of their work is good, this kind of billing approach leaves a bad impression. I would strongly advise others to carefully check the terms and make sure they cancel before the 12 months ends — otherwise you may continue to be charged without realising.

This review was also submitted to Legal Vision who, after 2 months, failed to reply. On 4th February, I attempted to contact Legal Vision regarding a legal enquiry. It became apparent during this interaction that Legal Vision does not have an effective process for managing enquiries, and employs individuals who are not legally qualified but nonetheless offer legal advice and provide incorrect information about court procedures.

Call Experience
The call was answered by a person name beginning with H. He simply responded with ‘hello’, rather than providing a professional greeting such as ‘You are through to Legal Vision, how can I help?’. This gave the impression that I had called a private household rather than a legal firm.

Reason for Contact
I reached out to Legal Vision following a recommendation, and after conducting a Google search for law firms specialising in small claims. I spent 15 minutes explaining the issue and the details of my case.

Response from Legal Vision
After providing a detailed explanation to name beginning with H, he informed me that Legal Vision does not handle small claims and is unable to take on any new claims. Despite being aware that this was a small claim from the outset, name beginning with H proceeded to state that he was not a lawyer, yet still attempted to provide legal advice. He demanded to know how much I charge for my service and then used this to convince me not to defend a claim. Furthermore, he tried to persuade me not to pursue the matter where courts had made multiple errors.

Incorrect Advice and Misinformation
name beginning with H claimed that I had no right to reclaim costs associated with dealing with a vexatious claim, and asserted that I would need to initiate a second court case in order to recover these costs. When he was told that a cost schedule can be dealt with at a hearing and I knew this from a previous case, he continued to offer legal advice despite not being a qualified lawyer, and advised me to seek out a local lawyer. Additionally, he incorrectly stated that I was based in the Midlands, despite being aware that this was not the case and knew we were based in London. He demanded to know the ‘set up’ of the business which had nothing to do with the enquiry and demanded to know how long we had been established and again this had nothing to do with the enquiry. He sought to waste my time and I would not recommend Legal Vision. You do not do what your website claims and have call handlers aiming to put businesses off from civil claims.

We cannot recommend the LegalVision team enough. They have been there during some extremely stressful and challenging times, and have been compassionate and accommodating throughout. There systems are easy to navigate and their communication is excellent.

Legal Vision is absolutely value for money. You raise a request on their efficient App, a meeting to discuss requirements is quickly arranged within a couple of days, and then they turn around your requirements within 5 days. They have helped us so much with Contracts, Data Protection, Legal Advice, IP etc. Very Professional Legal Advice, brilliant service! Highly recommend!
