Successfully negotiated two FAANG offers; felt empowered as a first-gen student
I used levels.fyi twice for negotiating multiple FAANG offers and had a fantastic experience with Cate as my coach! I am a first-generation student and former academic (i.e. someone with no prior experience or cultural familiarity with industry negotiation), and levels.fyi made a huge difference in making me feel empowered to pursue the best compensation package possible. Amazing salary negotiation service!
I've used levels.fyi twice for their salary negotiation service. Randy was an invaluable partner in helping me leverage my other offers to increase my total comp from the company I wanted to work at. Goes without saying that the salary negotiation service at levels.fyi is well worth the money, both from a financial and educational perspective. I easily recommend to anybody I know!
2nd time using levels
I've used levels.fyi twice. The first time I was negotiating with a single FAANG company and was way out of my depth. My recruiter was able to retrieve detailed data on comp ranges. Coupled with a strong interview loop, I was able to secure a high end package for my level. The net gain was around 40k total.
My second experience with levels was a different situation. I was actively looking for a new role and was fielding several offers. The nuance here is juggling timelines and keeping doors open. I was able to get my target role with over 60k beyond the initial offer.
The return on investment makes using this service a really easy decision.

First of all I was able to quickly find the session for the next day, which is invaluable due to the time pressure. During the session, my negotiator went through the process from the recruiter point of view and elaborated all the details quick and efficient. Everything was up to the point, no empty words.
From my standpoint, I was able to think out loud, discuss, get feedback, and receive a few important suggestions.
After the call I received a template email. With the strategy laid out, my package bumped up for 50k/year. The negotiation session price totally worth it. I'm going to use the service next time and recommend it to friends.
Very Disappointed
The result: the company I interviewed with refused to budge on any aspect of the offer, including the base salary, bonus, equities, and benefits, all of which were exactly as they had originally proposed. Therefore, all the negotiation effort that had gone back and forth for two weeks was for naught. “Fortunately”, I managed to receive a full refund from Levels due to this outcome.
During the process, I was matched with a specialist who had high reviews in the Levels system. However, all I received were extremely generic talking points and templates with no tailored suggestions based on my strengths and weaknesses, the company's profile, the industry in general, and so on. Simple Google searches would have resulted in more productive and personalized negotiation strategies. Ultimately, I ended up spending hours researching and writing 90% of the emails myself, as the templates sent were very basic and not even polite.
After the company made a good-faith initial offer, the Levels specialist advised me to make an unfounded counter-offer that focused only on the numbers, even after I specifically expressed my preference for better benefits over a small increase in salary. The counter-offer was significantly higher than the original offer without offering any good reasons for doing so. When I asked the specialist what the basis was for the asking numbers, he never got back to me. He did not seem interested in what I wanted to get out of this negotiation at all. Looking back now, if I were the company, I would have refused to negotiate further as well, as I, the candidate, did not seem to act in good faith.

Beyond what I had ever hoped for
I took their leadership negotiation package and my coach was Randy. I strongly recommend anyone to use their services. Thanks to Randy, I negotiated a 30% increase in my total compensation for a position at Meta in London.
Randy was very supportive all along the way. He allowed me to be less stressed and focus on the interviews while he sorted out the negotiations and tactics. He had some ready made sentences for me to the recruiter if they'd ask about my current compensation or how much I wanted. They also advised me on the timing of the interviews so that I could maximise leverage from competing offers.
Levels.fyi is very responsive. Before I had Randy as a coach, I started with another coach. At one point, that other coach went AWOL and levels.fyi switched me to Randy within a day. This shows their very good level of service: when you encounter a problem, they are quick to react and fix it.
Successfully negotiated Facebook offer
Levels.fyi helped me negotiate my job offer at Facebook and with their help I was able to successfully obtain a higher equity grant despite having minimal leverage. Sarah from the Levels team is amazing at what she does. She was very responsive and helpful despite time the short time frame.
