The cap was a letdown given the price. While it’s made of cotton, the fabric is very thin and flimsy. The stitching was also poor: the adjustable strap was tucked into the cap in a rough way, with loose threads sticking out. Overall, it felt more like a free giveaway item you’d get at an event rather than something I paid for.

I had considered returning it, but since it was an international order and the company doesn’t provide return labels, the return process wasn’t worth the cost. On the positive side, their customer service team was very responsive and polite.

In the end, I donated the cap and chalked it up to “buyer beware.” 🤷‍♂️

Hat arrived relatively quickly but upon arrival it felt of fairly poor quality and colour didn't appear like in the image. Additionally the hem around the base of the head shape was folding out and the general shape of the hat didn't seem like that of any other baseball cap I've worn, very square. Trying to get a return from the UK you'll have to pay out of pocket for the postage to the US which is 2/3 of the cost of the hat. They make the returns process deliberately difficult (all via email, very outdated). Overall, very disappointed.

Not only are the caps not good (quality, fit, form), the company is also awkward to return caps to. I expect Tarrik to respond to this review, he responded to suggest that the returns have to be made to New York, on our own expense, when the caps themselves were shipped from China! Not sure what the reviews are based on, but I suspect these now, given the lack of quality of the caps themselves and the process of the returns, almost like this is set up to discourage returning these.

Hats seem nice enough although the shape and cut seem strange, but this company is larping as a US company. My hats were made in and shipped directly from China.

Quick delivery, good coms and tracking.
However, the product… the cut is very much shaped for a square forehead and the fabric is a little light. The manufacturing of the product doesn’t quite stand up with the heritage story image of the product. They are oi bought 3 different colours and depending on the colour it exaggerates the shape of the crown. Product and price 5 out of 10

These caps are brilliant: comfortable and top quality. I had a problem with the UK courier and my parcel went missing for a time. Tarrik rapidly arranged for a replacement to be sent. I’m afraid I’m now addicted.

Hugely impressed with service from Tarik at Liftdown who was quick to answer questions and very helpful. Delighted with the hats I ordered so recently ordered two more for my son.

I ordered 3 hats of the same size. I received 2 hats of one size, labeled ''made in china'' and a 3rd one labeled ''Liftdown'' which was a lot bigger. They arrived poorly packaged and smelling of chicken soup (think Vitamin B smell). Not great, considering the price.

Edit: after complaining directly to the company, I received a refund for the oversized hat (because it only came in that size) -they also offered me the option to get another colour. As for the two other hats, since I liked the fit but not the smell, the company is sending me another pair at no cost!

Essentially an AliExpress product drop shipped from China.
Even had AliExpress written on the packaging

They've really perfected the classic dad cap, in terms of the color selection, sizing options, and cap silhouette. The XL size is properly scaled--bigger while keeping the same shape/style as the regular--not easy to find!

I loved everything about my lift down purchase! The quality and construction of the hats are great. So many good color choices, I ended up buying more than one. Package arrived very soon too. Will be buying more hats again.

The received product is decent, and therefore I give two stars rating. However, I have the following issues:
1. Delivery took quite a long time.
2. The product was shipped in just a plastic bag. No carton, padding or protection whatsoever. It was pure luck that the front of the cap wasn't broken in transport.
3. I did not receive a notification from the transporter, and no information on which local transporter that was used, or which service point it was shipped to. The only thing I got was a Chinese tracking code. Only after using this code at multiple local shipping companies' websites I finally found my package.
4. The product was sent directly from AliExpress in China. Looking at the AliExpress website I could have bought exactly the same baseball cap directly from them, for 10% (!) of the price I paid to LiftDown.

Sure, one is allowed to re-sell China stuff for a higher price. But then one needs to build a local stock, and send from there so the customer gets the goods quickly, and with proper padding etc. to avoid transportation damage.

Apparently, this company LiftDown wants to charge the price of a local reseller, but just have the costs of dropshipping. TOTAL RIPOFF!

I feel ashamed to have let them fool me like this.

I found this company on Instagram, it purports to be a high quality brand “with the mission of challenging the headwear status quo”. So that doesn’t explain why the cap that arrived was cheap and flimsy with substandard and unfinished stitching. I paid £19 for a cap that’s identical in both look and quality to Temu and Shein and was shipped from AliExpress. I’m going to keep it because you have to pay for the return as well as a 10% restocking fee. A warning for potential buyers, don’t fall for the marketing. If you want a cap of this quality, pay £1.99 from Temu/Shein/AliExpress. If you want a nice, good quality cap, then don’t buy from this company.

UPDAGE 27.03.25 The vendor tried to have the review removed, Trustpilot upheld the review. They've asked for the order number which is #142586 placed on 11th March, clearly in my name and address.

Made in China rubbish, terrible quality, took ages to arrive and looks nothing like the photos. Stitching all over the place, flimsy quality. Cannot believe I fell for yet another Instagram scam 🤦‍♂️

The $28.99 I spent resulted in a cheap looking cap. The stitching is misaligned and the materials are thin and poor quality.

The cap was shipped to the UK and took 10 days to arrive. I could have bought a cap of the same (poor) quality for £5 from a local street vendor.

Place my order on Feb 25. Shipping was to take max seven business days. As of March 12 the order hasn't shipped - 11 business days later.

Fast service, comfortable hat, timeless look. Love not having logos all over my hat. Nice and clean.

To many dark slubs in the wool turning cream color into spec’s! Not as pictured!
