VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. PLANT WAS NEVER DELIVERED!

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I ordered a plant on March 3, 2026 for a dear friend's birthday (March 12). It was promised to be delivered no later than March 17, 2026. I called and emailed asking why the plant was not delivered. I was promised better communication and that the plant will be delivered once the customer service agent could find out what happened to the plant. Mar. 26, 2026, I am now notified that the tropical plant is not in stock, and I have the choice to choose another plant or get a refund.

Service to Customers

I have worked with customer service on a couple of occasions with availability of plants in my area or questions about care, and so forth. Each time, the person I communicated with was respectful, informative, courteous and clear. Buying plants online is an act of faith, and Lively Root has earned mine through my interactions with customer service.

I recd livelyroot as a gift from my son. A plant arrives once per month. Generally is good condition with one exception. I have twice received duplicates which was not suppose to happen. Today I received a plant either no identification or instructions. Very frustrating

I have received three plants that were…

I have received three plants that were in very poor condition. They sent a replacement code so hopefully the new plants will arrive in better condition.

False advertising

Order a plant, english ivy, and a specific pot. What I recieved was completely different. A cheap plastic pot and a purple ivy looking like it was dying. Contacted customer service and they said replacement or credit only no refund. So not only is it false advertising the company is wanting to keep my money by their lame solution. Called affirm and they are getting my money back. They were flabbergasted once they saw the difference and said I will have no problem getting my money back. Stay away from this rip off company.

Follow up. Spoke with online support. Sent pictures and received money towards future plant. They got back to me right away. Very pleased with customer service will order different type of plant next time.

Plant had multiple brown leaves. The ones that were still green were all bent. Reviews on websites were all positive. They don’t publish the bad ones. They didn’t publish mine I even posted pictures. The one star is for timely delivery. That’s the only positive thing I can say.

What a scam! Lies and Fraud

What a scam. I ordered a rosemary tree for my sister Rosemary’s birthday only because they said it would be delivered between 21-25 November by her birthday .i paid for shipping and on the 23rd they wrote the 28th now for delivery. I tried to reach them through instagram and 2 days later they said basically, too bad.
Them and they said it would take 2 days to reply and now they are saying too bad.

Their phone number is outsourced with people who can’t help.

No Item, No Response

*Since posting my initial review, the plant has been received and John has been super helpful, processing a partial refund for the inconvenience and keeping me in the loop every step of the way. I hope the company provides this level of service at the offset* I paid premium rates for an XL Bird of Paradise plant as a housewarming surprise for my son, but the order is now stuck in limbo with the dispatch team and I’ve received no meaningful updates. I reached out to Lively Root over the weekend only to discover they offer customer support solely Monday to Friday, eight to four.

The only response I received during the week was a generic, AI-generated email saying they were “looking into it,” with no timelines or indication of when this would be resolved. I’ve chased every day since and still haven’t heard anything back.

I’m very disappointed. I paid in good faith, but the item never arrived and the lack of communication has been extremely frustrating.

Never received item

It has been a month since I placed an order to a friend for a bereavement. The plant still has not arrived, and sits on the 'label created' limbo. I've reached out to customer service and after the first 'we'll look into it', I got nothing. No followup about why the plant has not shipped and no offer to do something about it. I've emailed customer service again to ask for a full refund and won't be making the mistake of buying from lively root again.

I guess i dont kill ALL plants

I have managed to kill every single plant i have even owned (50+) and totally gave up. When i moved i decided to give it one more chance and i subscribed to the quarterly beginner pet friendly subscription. My only goal when i got the first plant was that it would still be alive when the second plant arrived. I am now up to 8 plants - 4 of which are from lively root and they are all doing well! It has been over 6 months with multiple of them and they are proving to be thriving compared to my past experiences both with purchasing plants in person and ordering from other vendors online.
