READING BERKSHIRE :Based on both my own experience and the numerous reviews already posted, there appears to be a deeply concerning pattern of behaviour at this club. One review describes a pregnant woman being deliberately locked inside the changing rooms, which alone should have triggered urgent action. Instead, it seems nothing has changed.
The club manager is consistently described as intimidating, dismissive, and openly hostile to members who raise concerns. What makes this worse is that this behaviour appears to be actively protected by senior management, Complaints are not addressed transparently; instead, members report being ignored, spoken down to, or even banned simply for complaining about facilities or treatment.
There have also been multiple allegations ranging from racial discrimination to outright disrespect towards paying members. Taken together, this points to a toxic management culture rather than isolated incidents.
This is extremely disappointing and unacceptable for a brand associated with Hilton. The impression given is that as long as sales targets are met, member welfare, safety, and basic standards of conduct are secondary concerns.
I would strongly urge prospective members to read the existing reviews carefully before joining, and I hope Hilton takes these repeated complaints seriously rather than continuing to overlook them.
By way of update, living very well know this matter has been in an official complaint with 8 past members. The major shareholder of this franchise has zero interest in putting things right, but only charging you for the privelage. We were members for almost a decade and there is no loyalty or respect shown to customers. This manager has been here for 10+ years and is heavily protected by senior management.
