Irresponsible international delivery and no response when FedEx holds from custom clearance due to ignorance and incompetence
Bought investment grade standard bullion coins from LPM HK shipped to Australia. The nightmare still ongoing and I cannot take more.
I have bought from UK (Royal Mint and Singapore (Bullionstar) who use UPS. Never have been hassled by courier and their broker asking for payment of GST duties! Products always delivered without me involved in the bloody customer clearance saga.
With LPM, I Received a bill from FedEx for approx $540 GST duties for less than $4000 worth of GST exempted silver/gold coins.
I have been trying to work with FedEx providing weblinks to tax laws of Australian GST law and importation rules. All government officials website stuff. In addition, I have provided them with profound evidences how a gold / silver coins are bought / sold / imported in Australia GST tax free. I have been printed completed signed delectations declaring my purchases meet Australian laws and are GST exemption.
FedEx and their broker are now holding back the custom clearance, because “Broker” thinks some of the coins are collectible hence subject to GST in Australia !!!!!
This is ridiculous!!!!
It’s been 4 days and the bloody I wrote to LPM asking for support. They do not take calls. Everything must be emails and they don’t respond to logistic issues!!!!!
Should have checked their poor reviews before I buy .
