We checked in to a handicapped room at the La Quinta inn in Austin Texas today. It started when the front desk said they had no shower chairs. Or room has a bathtub, which would be okay because there is a handheld shower head. When my wife, who is handicapped with one leg for in the tub and turned the water on, found out the handheld shower head and the overhead shower head did not work. I went to the front desk and told them about it. They said they couldn't allow us to change rooms since she had already used the tub. And I was told, they knew the shower head didn't work. (Why would they rent a nonfunctioning room to a person with one leg?) We are not happy with this stay at all. And I called customer service and they said there was nothing they could do. We are in town for a concert and now have left the hotel to later tonight. This is totally unacceptable!

Tried to book a room for a Saturday (4/4/26) stay, website kept putting the date as prior Thursday (4/2/26). Tried to cancel, no direct line to hotel at the location, had to go through AI "representative". Needless to say, last night was Thursday and I got charged for a room I never used and couldn't cancel. It's now Friday morning and no contact from La Quinta. Never again........

if i could have given a minus i would

if i could have given a minus i would. I advise anyone who smokes don't stay here. My sister and i are disabled but we still went out to smoke. But Because they said the room smelled like smoke they charged me 250.00. We never smoked in that room. But because our clothes and our person smelled of smoke it is a 250.00 dollar charge. And there is no one to talk to. And yet the housekeeper was smoking her vape as we checked in on same floor. We have an adopted 10 year old with asthma. We don't smoke in our home much less 1 room around her.

I stayed at the Westminster

I stayed at the Westminster, Colorado La Quinta, I stayed February 12th, 2026. I paid for a deposit with a credit card and was never returned to me. Called and was told to check with bank they may have a hold on it. They never returned it. Stayed there a week later and paid deposit with cash. Had to go to work and when I returned six days later was told they only give you 24 hours which they failed to tell me when they took the deposit. Which I explained to the man which he replied it’s policy ma’am. He looked in the drawer and seen nothing with my name on it. Told me I had to talk to the manager the next day. I never received either deposit back. Beware they’ll do everything they can to keep your hard earned money. They’re loss, because I am a very good customer.

Won’t get deposit back

I stayed at the la Quinta here in Westminster and although was ok with room. I paid for a deposit by credit card and asked a few days later where deposit was? They replied to check with bank they might be holding it. They lied they never sent it. Stayed a week later and paid cash for deposit. Went back a few days later and was told I only had 24 hours to pick up Told him when I paid deposit nobody said anything like that. He replied it’s the policy. He searched in drawer for my name, said he didn’t see it to come back next day and talk to the manager.

Avoid unless you like dirty worn out rooms

I recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with the condition of the room. From the moment I walked in, there was an unpleasant smell lingering throughout both the bedroom and bathroom, which immediately made the stay uncomfortable.

The carpet was in very poor condition, with bald, worn patches that made the room look tired and neglected. The cupboards had a visible layer of grime on them, clearly showing that proper cleaning had not been done. In the bathroom, the shower plug hole was dirty and appeared to have not been cleaned in quite some time. There was also mould present on the tiles, which is completely unacceptable and raises concerns about hygiene standards.

Overall, the room felt unclean and poorly maintained. For the price paid, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and upkeep. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below expectations, and I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made.

We checked out of the hotel 10 minutes after checking in, losing the first nights payment, that’s how bad it was.

On Saturday

On Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, my wife and I got off the highway at the Tri-Cities exit and stopped in at the La Quinta Hotel to inquire about a room. I asked the clerk how much it would be for a room for the night, and he told us it would be $85 plus tax. I told him that would be fine. He asked us for a picture ID and credit card, so my wife, who is Japanese, showed him her Japanese driver’s license and gave him her Visa card. He did not supply us with any paperwork at that time.
The following morning when we went to check out, a different clerk, Mr. Richard Jacquay, was working the front desk. He gave us a printout showing that we had been charged $109 plus tax. We explained that we had been quoted a rate of $85 plus tax, and he said he was very sorry but that the accounting had been completed and there was nothing he could do to change or refund the discrepancy. However, he did give us the name of the clerk from the previous evening, a Wilfred, and the name of his manager, David Johnson. I can assure you that these were not the names these gentlemen were given at birth as English was not their first language, and most likely not their real names.
I called the hotel the following week and asked to speak with David Johnson. The man to whom I was speaking refused to identify himself but said he was the manager and could handle my call. I explained the problem to him. Without contacting Wilfred or anyone else, he said that the room rate should have been $99 plus tax and that he would reduce the charges to that amount. I told him I didn’t care what the charge should have been in his opinion, I only wanted to pay the rate that had been quoted to us. As I was trying to explain my position, he began to chant la, la, la, la, la, la, la so loudly that I was unable to communicate any further with the man.
I then tried to contact customer service at Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, the parent company, and was passed around repeatedly until someone finally took down my complaint. I was contacted by email a short time later and told they didn’t plan to correct the problem, that I should take the matter up with my credit card company.
It’s not so much the $24, which, if the manager did what he said, would be reduced to $14, but I don’t like being ripped off. The night clerk and the manager are clearly in cahoots on this. They lie to people who are just passing through to make sure they don’t go down the street to find a better and cheaper hotel, then charge a higher rate and disappear in the morning so they don’t have to speak to the disgruntled guest, leaving that duty to a completely innocent and oblivious morning clerk. The manager didn’t even try to contact the night clerk before giving me his answer. Why? Because he knew perfectly well the scam they were pulling. I just want to make sure this doesn’t happen to others.
Anything you can do to help prevent these guys from continuing to run this scam on other innocent travelers would be greatly appreciated. If you need any further information, please let me know. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

I am updating my situation regarding…

I am updating my situation regarding the illegal eviction, tax fraud, and habitability issues at the La Quinta/Wyndham Inn Omaha, Nebraska.
After filing a formal Demand Letter and a BBB complaint, the La Quinta management (under Wyndham) response is to ignore the law and deflect the core issues. Instead of addressing the roach/rat infestation, the illegal lockout, or the tax exemption denial, they are asking about the source of my payment and who I spoke to on the property.
FACTS THEY ARE AVOIDING:
72 Days of Tenancy: My continuous stay from Sep 3 - Nov 14 established full tenant rights under state law.
ILLEGAL EVICTION: Management attempted to lock me out without the required judicial eviction process.
TAX FRAUD: They illegally collected accommodations taxes despite my valid tax-exempt status.
I am not engaging in irrelevant arguments. I have given Wyndham a final deadline of December 10, 2025, to settle the claims for a full refund plus statutory damages.
If they continue to deflect, I will immediately be filing a lawsuit seeking maximum statutory penalties.
Future long-term guests: Be warned. If a Wyndham property treats you as a tenant, they may illegally refuse your tax exemptions and attempt to illegally lock you out without cause.

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham…

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Jacksonville Butler Blvd
Upon arrival discovered the hotel was under construction, no pool, no gym, no discount.
Staff was pleasant, very friendly. Breakfast same old, same old, not tasty, same blah microwave egg & cheese cold omelets and turkey sausage if there were any more put out after the first morning servings were consumed. If you came 15 minutes before breakfast was over don't expect eggs and sausage. Of course, the waffles are good but get old after several mornings. Butter should be put out to room temp. Hard as rocks, so you eat literal lumps of butter on your waffles.
Forget getting your room clean unless you leave it open when gone. I had too many personal items to allow it to be walked into when not there. There was a huge language barrier with the cleaning staff. No Habla English. Nice, polite and smiles, but No Habla. I requested linen changing and promised a time and day by desk clerk. I waited for over two hours for a time I was told I could expect them to come when I had business to take care of. They didn't come.
Furnishings, except the bed which was very good I will say, outdated and broken, Desk and end tables had broken legs, wobbled if touched. Outlets worn out and most unusable/no power. I had to buy a three way plug in to operate the TV, Lamp and laptop out of one working plug. Phone out of order, clock not working.
No wonder why under construction but a discount should have been given.
Overall I love La Qunita because I can bring my pets. I did not on this trip but for the most part they are the only hotel that does accommodate you furry kids. For that reason, I will always use LaQuinta when traveling with the whole family. This visit unfortunately was not what expected. I really was disappointed the gym was not available.

My experience with La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham and Premium Parking
On July 4th, 2025, I trusted the valet service at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham in New Orleans with my vehicle- Lexus GX during my trip to the city for Essence Fest. While grooving to the amazing vibes of GloRilla, I received a call from Valet Parking informing me that my car had significant windshield and surrounding damage while in their care. When I returned, my vehicle (a) had suffered significant windshield and surrounding damage.
I am so disappointed in both La Quinta Inn and Premium Parking for their lack of accountability. Despite recognizing my vehicle was significantly damaged while in their care, both parties have repeatedly refused to take full responsibility for ensuring the damage is fully addressed.
I’m sharing this to warn future customers and to encourage accountability. If you plan to use valet here, please be aware.

Do not book a room at this hotel I…

Do not book a room at this hotel I never was treated so badly. I booked last minute because I have a lot of work to do and at my home. I have renovations being done and there’s too much chaos. I needed this work to be done. My stepfather gave me a ride because my car is in the shop for repair from an accident. When I booked a room, I left a note that it may be a late check in because I didn’t know what time I was able to get over there so they would know. When I got to the hotel, my stepfather went in with me because I realized I did not have a card that I booked a room on so he could pay for the room for me. The gentleman behind the desk lied to me he said there was a $50 deposit but they took 100 then he refused to give me a receipt at that time. He said you’ll get it when you leave. I grab my things out of the vehicle and I had left a bag in the car because I couldn’t carry everything up so my stepfather proceeds to carry it up to my room for me stays about 1015 minutes. The reason why I booked a room for two people because I knew my boyfriend once he was done with his job he was going to be over there. I said just call me when you’re here and I come down and let you in well I accidentally dozed off and fell asleep and the gentleman downstairs was giving him a hard time to come up so I went down to talk to this gentleman. First he refused and said no he’s not coming up there. You came in with another gentleman he’s up. I said there’s not another gentleman upstairs. That was my stepfather. He paid for the room for me because of my card situation. He left in about 10 minutes. Then he proceeds to tell me well I should’ve left him know now I was gonna have a late guest and leave recorded to desk and I’m like does that say anywhere in the contract that I must do that? Of course it doesn’t then eventually he says OK he can stay till 6 AM. Then he must leave. I said that’s ridiculous . So I went back to my room. I had a lot of files on me and I wanted to show this gentleman how we are all related because I know he was insinuating. I was a prostitute. Even showing this information to him these documents he still insist that he must leave at 6 AM. I leave at 11 AM. I said I am not paying for two Ubers to get out of here. I’ve already got one set up in the morning to get us home, he did not care. He was so rude. I even said to him you’re insinuating. I’m a prostitute that’s what’s going on here so I proceeded back up in my room. We packed our bags and we left immediately and I told the gentleman not the last time you hear from me I will get a full refund for this room. Do not go to this hotel. They are rude and they are unfair.

Clean but awful smell

Stayed in the LaQuinta, Pueblo, Colorado. Hotel room was nice clean and spacious with a clean bathroom, BUT… there was an overpowering smell of what smelled like rodent urine, or maybe cat urine. It was so strong we had to spray perfume round to mask the smell. Looked in a cupboard and it looked like something was living in there it was dark and dirty. The Wi-Fi was awful, and the pool was empty even though it’s only September. Bath water nice and hot and towels clean. A fridge and microwave in the room but no kettle or tea bags, or milk, just creamer. It was ok, but they really need to sort out that vile smell 🙁
