I really enjoyed my time at Metropolitan School Frankfurt! Made friends for a lifetime and still are in contact with some of the teachers. If I compare to other students at my bachelor I now realize how lucky I was at our school including super nice labs and the best thing about the school really is the gigantic sports hall with the soccer field on the roof where we spend most of our breaks.

It was a truly international and open-minded environment in which I always felt very safe and on top providing me with friends from more than 10 different countries.

I can only highly recommend coming here, I had the best time!

Our family is deeply grateful to have found such an exceptional international school. As a mother of three children attending the school — with one already successfully studying at university — I can honestly say that this school has had a profoundly positive impact on our lives.

From the very beginning, our children were not only academically supported but truly seen, encouraged, and cared for as individuals. The teachers are highly dedicated, approachable, and genuinely invested in each student’s personal growth and well-being. The international environment has helped our children become confident, open-minded, and curious about the world.

What stands out most is the balance between academic excellence and emotional support. Our eldest child left the school extremely well prepared for university, both intellectually and personally. Seeing this transition happen so naturally gave us enormous confidence in the quality of education and guidance provided here.

Our two younger children continue to thrive every day. They feel safe, motivated, and happy to go to school — which, as a parent, means everything.

This school is much more than a place of learning; it is a caring community that helps children grow into capable, compassionate, and independent young people. We could not be more thankful and wholeheartedly recommend it to other families seeking an outstanding international education.

Our daughter has been at Metropolitan School Frankfurt for two years, and the decision to enroll her here has been one of the best decisions we have made. What stands out most is how known each child feels where teachers and leadership greet students and parents by name at the door every morning. Now this sounds small but sets the tone for everything else.
Academically, the results speak for themselves, but what I appreciate more is the energy in the classrooms. The teaching staff is young, motivated, and clearly invested in the kids beyond just curriculum delivery. It feels like a real community and we feel at home at MSF.
MSF is for families looking for a genuinely international, child-centered environment in Frankfurt.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the MSF. It is so chaotic; the staff are generally nice, but the head of the kitchen and the elderly caretaker are very peculiar. The teachers are good. Unfortunately, the school is far too small, and the ongoing construction work—along with the constant switching of classrooms—is annoying! My son has switched schools and is now attending the Europäische Schule RheinMain gGmbH in Bad Vilbel. It is an excellent private school—very spacious and well-organized—and its security protocols are far superior. You cannot simply walk onto the premises; the grounds are securely fenced and equipped with numerous surveillance cameras. Fortunately, we managed to secure a spot—as the school has a long waiting list—and while it is admittedly a bit of a commute from Frankfurt, it is absolutely worth it.

We are truly grateful to the whole team. My daughter loves her kindergarten and feels very proud to be part of it. She comes home excited, telling stories about her day, her teachers, and everything she discovers — from the new library to the canteen. It’s clear she feels safe, happy, and inspired.
She often talks about her teachers — Miss April, Miss Fibia, Lucia, and Miss Florin — and also remembers Miss Selma very fondly. You can really see the care and dedication of the staff through the way she speaks about them.

I would also like to thank Miss Ivona, Mr. Filipp who greets us every morning, Miss Linda from the canteen, and all the wonderful staff who make this school feel so warm and welcoming.
What is also very special for us is that through the school, we have built connections with other immigrant parents. We’ve found not just a community, but real friendships. This has made a huge difference to our family as we build our life here.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. The school has truly been one of the best things that has happened to our family.

The school and kindergarten are excellent! My five children attended the school, and one of them is still attending. The kindergarten is exceptionally good. We are a family coming from non-European state with no use of English or German at home. All our kids are now fluent in German and English after after 2-3 in the MSF kindergarten. Kids love MSF, and even after leaving it, visit their teachers from time to time. They all remember Mr Ferres, who greeted them every morning regardless of outside whether conditions. How many kids know school principals? I am very grateful to Mr Ferres for his contribution to the society in the form of MSF.
We switched to German public schools to make integration faster and to learn Deutsch good enough to continue studies in German Universities.
While at MSF, my kids loved reading books on their own. Once switched to German gymnasium, unfortunately, they read only after parents' reminders.
There are only two points to take into account for someone considering MSF for their kids. At school level, German language is taught not as much as in German gymnasiums. So, if German is not your mother tongue or one of the main languages at home, MSF alone will not make your kid fluent enough for Uni studies.
The second point is rather my personal. The school does not offer tuition fee discounts for siblings as other schools do e.g. Phorms. For my family with 5 kids, it is unaffordable education. Otherwise, all my kids would have continued wit h MSF.
Overall, we are very happy to be part of MSF family and that MSF became part of our lives.

If giving zero starts was an option, I would more than definitely opt for that. This school is definitely a place for kids and teenagers to express themselves, especially in violent and racist ways! Not to mention, the school lacks a proper education system and safety system. How can you justify the swastikas on the bathroom walls? Or perhaps the fire investigation that was abandoned after one day? Not to mention, the absolute lack of smoke detectors. But most importantly, how come parents were not provided with any information on either of those things?

If you're looking for an environment where a student can grow as an individual, be supported in their academics and live out their full potential; this is not the school for you.

The student body is unfortunately abysmal, with next to nothing being done by staff to regulate this. From homophobic, racist, and sexist comments that fly around on a daily, to swastikas appearing on bathroom stalls, the environment is far from adequate for academics. I have only ever witnessed a select few teachers who actually cared enough to try and call out and resolve this behaviour, but the unfortunate truth is: that a lot of staff members either don't intervene or first do so when something escalates. Furthermore, most students with problematic behaviour that contribute to the lack of a welcoming student-body are not met with accountability or adequate consequences and thus continue to perpetuate that behaviour.

Moving on to the issue with support. The school claims to have 8 counselors, but these are split across the age groups to the point where there is one person responsible for counseling 80+ people. Only having one counselor for high schoolers when they are going through the most stressful and rigorous semesters (especially a high-stress diploma like the IB) won't cut it. Furthermore, the Additional Learning Needs programme needs more staff. They try their best, but due to a high demand and lack of personnel they often struggle with organisation and end up confusing students with others.

This school unfortunately struggles under heavy management issues as well as the lack of creating a welcoming and academic atmosphere. With the lack of support added into this mix, a student will not be able to live up to their potential.

This is a shame, as in my time there I have met a couple teachers/staff members who actually care about the well-being of the students and made my time there bearable. Without these few individuals, I fear the school wouldn't have many redeeming factors.

From the excellence in teaching to the professional, caring, approachable staff, Metropolitan is a cut above the rest.

I found Audun’s workshop very insightful and practical. Having the visual of Maslow’s chart while we talked about the different levels of the hierarchy was especially helpful.

Metropolitan School of Frankfurt has been welcoming from Day 1, for both my daughter and us, as parents. The school does a great job in fostering a community feeling, celebrating the different cultures and promoting a feeling of belonging. We find that the teachers go that extra mile and are extremely nurturing towards the children, bringing out the best in them. Our daughter loves going to school, enjoys learning and is thriving. We are extremely happy with the school but more importantly our daughter loves Metropolitan so much that she doesn’t want us to ever move from Frankfurt.

Engaging, creative, thoughtful, caring - very impressed by the level of thinking that goes into every lesson and experience in the school. Passionate and enthusiastic team - tirelessly going above and beyond.

An amazing, warm, family-like school. Children are very happy and can’t wait to go to school!

If you’re looking for a school where creativity dies, communication is optional, and student well-being is a decorative slogan on a brochure, congratulations, you’ve found the one.

Let’s start with leadership. Or rather, the impressive illusion of it. The administration somehow manages to be both omnipresent when enforcing unnecessary rules and completely invisible when real issues arise. You could report a fire, and they’d probably respond with a policy change on hallway walking speed.

Teaching? A lucky draw. Some teachers care deeply and I genuinely applaud them (1 or 2 max), but they’re drowning in a system that prioritizes bureaucracy over actual learning. Others treat the classroom like a prison sentence, and it shows. They simply don't teach. Good luck getting feedback that’s not copy-pasted or assessments that make sense.

And don’t expect any emotional support unless you count being told to “just try harder” as helpful advice. Mental health resources are essentially nonexistent. Students are expected to power through everything, even if they’re visibly burnt out or struggling.

This school seems more concerned with polishing its public image than fixing the deep-rooted problems its students face every day. The disconnect between what they say they stand for and what they actually do is laughable, if it weren’t so damaging.

In short: if you value your time, mental health, or actual education, run, don’t walk, in the opposite direction.

Happy to start our interaction with MSF from kindegarten. There we've found truly caring and passionate about their job teachers who taught our daughter to love study process, to manage friendship issues and to keep individuality. Every year she shows really impressive development not just in knowledges she receives but also in self development. School cares on high educational standards same on a high emotional intellect of the kids. Really happy to be a part of such community as MSF.

This is my daughter third year at MSF and she love it.Teachers are supportive and genuinely care about their students. They provide encouragement, constructive feedback and create nurturing classroom environment.
