In the UK you will pay a small fortune for a Scout transmitter. I stupidly paid around $200 for this rubbish and guess what? after having actually used this for no more than a dozen times in the last few years, and it has never been subjected to any adverse climatic conditions and a high quality battery was always used the wretched thing has failed all on its own even though it was not switched on. Marshall's attitude appears to be its tough luck mate just pay us a small fortune and buy another one. Are you having a laugh!!! In my opinion this is a rubbish product and is a total rip off. I have ordered a new transmitter from China for $40. It cannot be worse than this useless product I was stupid enough to buy.

Been using there telemetry products for near 30 years for all my passage Gyrs and other passage falcons. The new GPS system is mind blowing as well. Excellent customer service as well. They stand behind there products..

I ordered a transmitter with leg mount for my eagle owl as advertised on the Marshall Radio Telemetry Web Site and had an acknowledgement and copy of the order. Then nothing for a week until I phoned to ask where the order was. I was told that I needed to confirm the frequency of the transmitter although I had already done this when I placed the order.
So the item arrived the next day but minus yet another additional item I did not know I needed to mount the transmitter on the tail of the bird.
The explanation from Marshall was, "we thought you would know you needed this" Am I clairvoyant?? The snobbery which appears to go with falconry in the UK obviously extends to the retail trade and providing proper information in the first place so one can make an educated decision is not forthcoming.
I am a doctor, do I expect my patients to know what ails them??? Its my job to diagnose and recommend treatment. I don't assume they should know. Exactly the same applies here, the transmitter is very expensive the leg mount is even more and the tiny clip that was missing from the package is an additional £11 and is in my opinion a total rip off!! I am now expected not only to pay for this in addition to get the thing up and running I am expected to pay a postage charge for something that should have been included in the package so it can be used in the first place!!! I am sending the whole lot back for a refund!!
