We recently moved into our new Home, built by Matthew Homes.

We understand due to the nature of such big projects there will always be snagging items, which we raised, shortly after moving Into the property.

We found ourselves in an unfortunate position where a bigger issue was highlighted, while trying to rectify the original problem.

Jack and Paul, the contractors that were designated to help us carry out work, were amazing with their expertise. They took hold of the issues at hand and went above and beyond their remit to help us resolve everything. Their team of builders were incredibly hard working, tidy and respectful.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Jack and Paul, and we are extremely grateful for everything they did for us. We would call them back any time.

Do not buy from Matthew Homes. The house has terrible isulation but the worst for me is that since I purchased the house, I have been wasting lots of money to try keep the front garden turf alive. However nothing worked. I gave up and started removing and uncovered building waste including plastic bags, remains of cement, bricks and other rubbish under the turf. No joke it would not thrive. I contacted Mattew Homes who said I was 16 days off the end if the warranty and therefore they would not take accountability, even though they intentionally did this before the property was put for sale in the market. I am reporting them to the Trading Standards. Stay away!!

Dominic was really helpful throughout the whole process, everything went well smoothly and we had no issues whatsoever! Also the Site Manager, Max, was really friendly a provided us with a great presentation of the plot.

The builder team at Meadow Gardens were absolutely amazing! Graham and his fantastic team — James and Renvul — went above and beyond to help us settle into our new home. From day one, they were friendly, approachable, and always willing to lend a hand. Every issue was handled quickly and professionally, and their attention to detail really showed in the quality of their work. What stood out most was how easy they were to talk to and how much they genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect for us. Their hard work, professionalism, and positive attitude made moving into our new home a truly wonderful experience!

Wow, what can we say, from the moment we came in to see the sales advisor Simone the whole transaction has been seamless. Simone took away all our stress and made sure that we were informed every step of the way without taking away our control. This was such an easy process with her help and she is a massive credit to you. Our home is stunning, the build is excellent and we love it. Thank you Matthew Homes and Simone.

The communication from Adrianne and Lynne has been exceptional here at the Thurston site , the home quality is outstanding , no hidden extras ( all other companies will charge extra for appliances, flooring etc ) and even after sale the site managers are taking care of us , happy is an understatement , from the day our offer was accepted to our completion day was just over 8 weeks so thank you for all your hard work guys we’ll defo recommend you to others :-)

Diane was excellent from start to finish. Was always available if had question. This made our move less stressful.

First look at the showroom and I knew that was the one. The build quality and finish is second to none. From that point, everything was flawless and the journey to our new Matthew Home went smoothly with the team, handling every detail with care and dedication. Special mention to Tracy who went above and beyond to ensure a premium service. Words at times aren't enough, the experience says it all. Highly recommend.

Moved into our property at the end of feb 2025 and since had no major issues. There has been a few snags here and there which in this day and age are just unfortunately expected however they have all been dealt with with good speed and handled professionally.
Big credit to James Hesketh our site manager who I have found to be extremely efficient and on the ball.
Whatever issue or query I have had he has got back to me in quick time and might not also know the answer straight away which is expected he soon comes back with a reply after chasing the correct people
Nothing but good praise for James and we are extremely happy with our Mathew Homes house.
I am in the trade and I can promise you there are a lot worse and less caring builders building far more houses

Really good follow up with James, the contracts manager on Brantham Heights who got the snags sorted and organised really quickly. Good communication as well.

Very Poor service and would definitely not recommended.
I contracted Matthew homes about there poor manager at Matthew Homes but they never provided to get back to me. So alot of the problems they get with poor drainage at Clacton is due to drains not be correct fitted from the beginning and covering the problem up and blaming the residents. And the problems with the mould is the houses when built do not get a chance to dry out and in many chases the roof gets covered, the stairs go in and then the plasterboard is fitted within days. The plasterboard is stored outside and and only covered with a thin layer of plastic.
Alot of trade turn over, due to poor manager.

Dominic and Christine were very helpful throughout the entire process. It is the best decision we have made, we are really happy with the house and the area. Highly recommended

After leaving my last review, Matthew Homes went out of their way to finish the snags that had been outstanding for 10 months and I thought great, after months of stress/disruption, frustration and tears we were finally getting somewhere and we could finally really start enjoying our lovely new home. I was wrong! Flooring company came out to replace the vinyl in the ensuite and left various air bubbles under the vinyl and nobody bothered to check the work. Reported it to Matthew Homes within hours of them leaving and Dave the site manager came out and agreed that it wasn’t acceptable. Mastic guy turned up to finish the flooring but it wasn’t finished and went away again. I was told the flooring company would contact me directly to “look” at the flooring … 3 weeks after new flooring was fitted nobody has been out or even bothered to contact me and let me know what’s happening and the ensuite floor is still unfinished.

It literally would be laughable if it wasn’t happening constantly …. come on Matthew Homes, this really isn’t okay.

White House park- been in our house three months now, Jackie and Steve where excellent at helping us move things along with our solicitors, happy to answer our questions and let me look at the house to measure things up when needed! (Which was a huge help) everything went quick and smooth, site had done everything we had asked prior to moving in and yes we have had a few snags but this have been sorted out quickly and Dave the site manager has been absolutely brilliant at checking in and making sure things have been done. We are extremely happy with our house so thank you Matthew homes for helping us along the way. Everyone on this site has been lovely and friendly and gone out there way to help us if needed. Dave site manager and his team have always been happy to help us with no problems at all, always polite and chatty.

Both Jsckie and Steve in the sales office were excellent from placing a deposit on the house to moving in. Since living in the house the site manager dealt with our snags promptly and has been helpful ever since.

I am deeply disappointed and concerned by the actions (or lack thereof) of Matthew Homes. They have utterly failed to build our property to basic UK safety regulations, compromising the safety and well-being of all residents. Most alarmingly, our fire doors have been deemed unfit for purpose, and no emergency lighting was installed — both of which are serious breaches of building safety standards.

Now that these dangerous oversights have come to light, the developer has completely wiped their hands of responsibility. No one from the company is responding to calls, emails, or any attempts at contact. We, the residents, are now expected to cover the costs of bringing our homes up to legal safety standards — a burden that should never have fallen on us in the first place.

This is not just bad customer service — it is negligence, plain and simple. I urge others to avoid this developer at all costs. If you are considering buying a home from them, think twice. Safety and accountability are non-negotiable, and unfortunately, Matthew Homes has shown neither.

We bought a new build by Matthew Homes at White House Park in Attleborough. We did have a few snags but they were delt with promptly. Dave the site manager and his staff are all very helpful and friendly.

If I could give zero stars I would. We have been in our property 2 years now and have significant snags still outstanding. Matthew homes cut corners, use shoddy trades, and ignore emails chasing repairs to be done. Road is also still not surfaced (promised Christmas 2023, then 2024 - going to ask Santa again this year but not hold my breath!). Good job we love our house, village and neighbours…thank goodness my husband is excellent at repair works! His standards are much better than Matthew homes.

We moved into our new Matthews Homes house in January on their Brantham site. Naturally with a new build there were a few teething problems/snagging items that needed sorting, but our site manager Dan made sure this was sorted promptly. Every new build site needs a Dan! These homes are not your usual new build, they come with higher than standard ceilings which stop the rooms feeling like you are in a box, as well as coming with larger gardens than an average new build. The house feels really spacious and we couldnt be happier in our new home
