They Sent the Wrong Item and Kept My Shipping Fees

I ordered from Men's Tuxedo USA on 2/16. The website advertised same-day shipping, and I paid extra for 3-day delivery. It took 9 days to arrive. During that time I requested cancellation multiple times since they couldn't honor the shipping timeline I paid for - they refused every time.

When the package finally showed up on 2/25, it wasn't even the item I ordered. Completely different SKU. I have photo evidence.

I returned the wrong item they sent me - unopened, in new condition, in original packaging - and requested a full refund. They issued a partial refund and are withholding $33.93, claiming that shipping and the prepaid return label are "non-refundable since they are processed automatically by the carrier."

Let that sink in. They charged me for 3-day shipping they didn't deliver, sent me an item I didn't order, and then kept the shipping fees for both directions because the carrier already processed them. Their mistake, my cost.

After weeks of back-and-forth over email and live chat, they refuse to make it right. I've since filed a dispute with my bank and complaints with the FTC, California Attorney General, and the BBB.

Do yourself a favor and do some research before ordering. I wish I did. You'll find countless examples of people with the exact same experience - wrong items, late shipping, partial refunds, and a company that makes it so difficult to get your money back that people just give up. That's not bad customer service. That's a fraudulent business model.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMER! This is a horrible company and are scammers. I bought a jacket for Christmas. They sent the wrong item. I sent it back, and they STILL HAVE NOT CREDITED MY CREDIT CARD AND IT'S BEEN 2 MONTHS. STAY AWAY and buy from someone else.

If I could rate this lower I would! I wish I'd reviewed this before purchasing but my husband really needed a white suit. Not only was it later than promised it was not even close to the correct size. I orderd the same size through Amazon and no issues. When I asked for a refund they charged me a restocking fee even though the suit was late and not the correct size. I would avoid if possible.

This company is a complete disaster from start to finish. I ordered a velvet jacket/blazer for a specific event, relying on their clearly stated 3-day shipping promise. Not only did they miss that deadline, the jacket shipped after my event had already passed, rendering the purchase useless.

When the product finally arrived, it was not what I ordered—not even close. The jacket they sent did not match the photos they advertised or the written product description. The lapels were completely wrong, and instead of the two-button jacket clearly shown and described, they sent a one-button jacket. This was not a minor variation—it was a different product altogether.

What makes this worse is that they shipped the jacket knowing it did not match the item ordered, then conveniently labeled it final sale to avoid accountability. They offered a discount after the fact, which is completely immaterial. A discount does not fix deception, missed deadlines, or bait-and-switch tactics.

Their customer service was just as bad as the product. Responses were slow, dismissive, and arrogant, capped off with the unbelievable comment: “Don’t bother returning the jacket.” That alone tells you everything you need to know about how they treat customers once they have your money.

After receiving the jacket, I checked their Google reviews—and it all made sense. The reviews are overwhelmingly awful, showing a clear pattern of poor quality, misleading listings, and disrespectful customer service.

I would never do business with Men’s Tuxedo USA again and strongly recommend that no one else does either. This company should not be operating the way it does, and the BBB should seriously review whether this business deserves to continue operating at all.

Save yourself the frustration, wasted money, and disappointment. Stay far away.

Hopefully, you will see these reviews before making a purchase. I unfortunately did not. It's a recurring theme. Broken promises, zero communication, and nothing in return. The jacket is too small, despite my accurate measurement and adherence to their measurement standards. I also ordered a bigger size to allow room for error. Too small. I tried calling, and no matter how you try to navigate their menu options, you get hung up on. I tried their "live text" and got no response. I tried email. No response. How the hell can they remain as a legitimate business. That's as frustrating as me being suckered. Take everone's advice. Avoid Mens Tuxedos or will feel like you trying to nail jello to the wall. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE! Ordered a wedding tuxedo, then they emailed to tell me they didn't have any in stock (despite the website still showing the suit in stock in all sizes) and they tried to sell me two other suits before they finally gave me a refund. Then they sent me the wrong shirt, and when I asked how to return it they tried to give me $10 and then $20 to just keep it. When I was given instructions how to send it back for a refund, they charged me a fee even though the item was unopened.

Not to mention they ONLY correspond via email. Terrible business.

They sent me the wrong suit and their customer service is basically nonexistent. It took over a week to get a response and then instead of offering to take it back, they offered me $30 off on something I didn’t order and I don’t want. I’m still waiting for return authorization.

This is a scam business

This is a scam business. They send whatever product they have, not what you ordered. When you return it for credit, they make you pay the shipping and a restock fee which is likely how they make money. I am not done with them yet, but had good success with Buy 4lesstuxedo.com as they sent me exactly what I ordered and it ended up being cheaper.

Shop anywhere else

I ordered an item on 2/6 and paid for 3-day express shipping. Four days later, there was still no update, so I reached out. I was told my items would ship in 24 hours and the tracking would update. 2 days later, I called back and was told they would call the warehouse and call me back. Instead of calling me back, they canceled my order.

This business sent me the incorrect blazer. As it was their fault, I expected they would assume responsibility for paying for the return of this blazer. Wrong! It was difficult to communicate with them via email which is the only option. They wanted to give me a $50 credit to keep the incorrect item but I was still out the remainder of the $139 I had paid for the incorrect jacket they sent. Finally I wanted rid of this item as they would never take responsibility for paying to send it back, so I paid $38 to send it back and then got charged the restocking fee. They only credited my card $119. This is an absolutely terrible business and I warn all consumers to stay away!

Beware: unethical practice and dishonest dealing

I ordered two garments from this merchant. The package shipped from the merchant contained the two garments I ordered plus a third garmentt I did not order. I contacted the merchant about a return and let them know about their shipping error. The merchant asked me to consider keeping the third garment at a discounted price.
I returned all three suits and paid for the shipping cost per company policy. I received the expected refund for the two garments I ordered less the merchant's restocking fee as stated on their website.
I contacted the merchant again and asked for a refund of 1/3 of my cost to return the merchandise. I assumed responsibility for returning the two garments I ordered and asked that the merchant recognize their obligation to cover the cost of returning the third garment I did not order. The merchant responded with a refusal and restated their policy that the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Where do I begin? They charged me $45 for two day delivery. I got one of the suits on the second day and the second one I had to call about and got it late, of course no refund on the $45 day charge for the 2 day delivery. They sent me emails saying call this customer service number and after 10 tries they said each time that they were too busy each time and I got hung up on. They emailed me that there was a 30% restocking fee even though the website says 100% moneyback guarantee. Then they said on the return website that it’s a 20% restock fee! I received emails from two separate company names - MensUSAMenswear AND Mens Tuxedo USA. Very confusing as to who I bought the merchandise from! The suit is cheap and see-through. The website said the waistline was expandable and it was not and had to have it tailored - more money! I sent them an email since that is the only way to communicate with them that I wanted to return one of the suits and they responded with "we will give you a $50 dollar credit". Horrible , horrible experience. They delayed the order because they wanted to know why I was ordering two of the same. They must have 0 people in customer service because phone calls do not go through and emails take forever and short and make no sense. Who are these people? SCAMMERS that should be investigated! Please spare yourself the frustration and go elsewhere. I could go on and on. Bad, bad, bad experience!
