Roadside drain car key retrieval

I was in a huge dilemma this morning. I had just visited my mother in hospital and when I returned to my car I opened the car door, my keys fell out of my hand and fell down the roadside drain/gutter! I did not know what to do! I called metro rod. They were so helpful, understanding and when Nathan and James came they were so efficient, thoughtful, lifted my spirits and retrieved my keys in no time at all. They were my knights in shining armour and I would highly recommend them to anyone with drain issues. They were also very affordable.

Stretched the job to charge more!

SLOW!!! Really stretched the job out. I didn't realise at the time until I got the bill. Lots of standing around and chatting and now I realise why. If you book them keep an eye on them and make sure they are working. 1.5hours to rod a drain! Never booking or recommending again.

DO NOT USE! Disorganised and expensive

If I could give negative stars I would. I attempted to book this company for a CCTV inspection of some outside pipes. I made a call on the Friday and provided all the information they requested, I was given an appointment on the following Tuesday, which I was very happy with. I was told on the phone that they would send a payment link as they require payment up-front and the cost of the service was £160.
This is where it all started to go wrong. No payment link arrived. On Saturday I emailed to advise this and could they get back to me, they didn't. On Sunday I called and got no answer, so tried their chat service. The AI could not resolve my issue and I was connected with a human. She also could not help me as there was no one at the Norwich office she could speak to. She did send my details over to them for them to call me first thing Monday morning. They did call, and said they had no record of my enquiry and their was no appointment booked for Tuesday, I explained what I needed, and was told the cost was £298, I said that I did not wish to proceed as they had given me no confidence in their company so far and that the price had doubled in 3 days.
I called Dyno-Rod, the booking was fast, efficient and £175 for the same issue!

Metro Rod lied they did a job while no one from metro visited my address.

I've had my soil drainage blocked few times which was sorted out by Metro Rod through the council and the last drainage was done last year November. However, recently my soil drainage is blocked again. I contacted council a week ago as I'm a council tenant so it can be done. Council contacted metro last week the 4th for the job and metro claimed that the job has been done while no one from metro visited my property since last week update. I keep calling council for the same drainage issue as soil keep coming out everywhere...it is very disappointing that someone from metro claim to have done the job knowing his lying as the drainage is not done. Hence, I'm given metro one star.

I am the career for a 69 year old man…

I am the career for a 69 year old man called William who lives in Bexley, he had a stroke several years ago and is over coming a recent heart attack. This morning I came in to take him shopping and found him crying in his kitchen with water dripping through his kitchen ceiling,

He had emergency call out insurance through his Halifax account.

The leak started over the weekend and Metro Rod text to say they would be coming on the Sunday. He then had a confirmation text stating that the job was fixed even though there was a no show by an engineer.
He then got in touch to say it was a no show, so another engineer came and confirmed the leak was coming from the joint to his radiator and left. Later that day two engineers turned up and again confirmed it was a leak from his pipe to the radiator and again left without doing anything.
William then later that evening got a text to say that the engineer would be out by 10.30pm and left his number.
Bill rang the engineer to see if he was coming and was met by an angry and aggressive man who stated that he was not coming out at this time of the night and continued to rant, Bill said OK and put the phone down.
The next day he received a text stating that he was not going to be serviced by Metro Rod as he had upset the engineer the night previously.
He tried to put his case forward but was told that the company believed the engineer and that he would have to find another company to carryout the work.
I expect that the company claimed for the callouts from his insurance.
I am flabbergasted that in this day and age a company can get away with this to an old man.

Metro rod Deeside came on behalf of…

Metro rod Deeside came on behalf of Adra. They came within 24 hrs of me informing my landlords. Their communications were excellent. The gentleman who arrived was polite, respectful and considerate. He got straight on with the job and left the bathroom clean and tidy afterwards. The sink and bath are now draining as good as new- never experienced this with this bathroom before ! Excellent job. Thank you.

I had an engineer out Monday

I had an engineer out Monday. I think his name was kieron. What an amazing guy. So polite and helpful. Did a great job. Can't fault this company. Had a call from head office to say someone would be there shortly and the engineer was here within the hour.
Very pleased and would recommend these guys.

Dan French from Metro Rod was great

Dan French from Metro Rod came out to assist us with a blocked soil pipe. This was due to a home emergency claim through Sheilas Wheels home insurance. Dan worked tirelessly into the early hours to complete the job, then used a camera to assess and discover a damaged pipe. He was a credit to the company and a gent. Thank you Metro Rod.

Underground Drainage Problems - Metro Rod excellent!

Whilst Metrorod were very slow in responding to my non-urgent matter ( A price for lining my sewer pipeline)- That's why 4 stars and not 5- they eventually came out and did a survey very efficiently and answered all my concerns and therefore, after receiving their competitive quotation, I duly accepted.
The job was completed, as they promised, in 1 day by a very professional team who were courteous and obliging to all my neighbours throughout the day. Very happy and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Use someone else instead

I called Metro Rod at 8:30pm for a blocked toilet and was given an ETA of 4 hours. This was treated as an urgent call-out and I was charged a night tariff.
If we had been told the truth about the delay, we would have used a local contractor instead.
Instead, the ETA kept slipping back with no clear updates, leaving us waiting overnight. We lost a night’s sleep and I missed a full day of work because we were repeatedly told someone was “on the way”.
The engineer eventually arrived at 2:00pm the following day — around 14 hours later. Despite this being a daytime visit, we were still charged the night rate, with no refund or adjustment offered.
Poor communication, missed commitments, and misleading charging. This is not how an emergency service should operate. I would not use them again and would not recommend them to anyone.
