"People First"; which people?

I am reviewing here one product of this company (not the company, which I don't know) "People First", which I have been using - on and off - for just over a year.
I could go into detail and explain why myself and many of my colleagues are not in love with it. Instead I summarise by saying: it's convoluted, often frustrating and not always reliable.
Obviously the geeks developing this kind of technology do not realise that the working environment is not constituted just by 20 to 30 years old guys that have spent their school years between X box, PlayStation, Instagram and the like. For older folks these new IT tools make you - often - look back with nostalgia at the token or even the piece of paper which we used to clock in and out every day. Mechanical and elementary, it was self explanatory and it never let you down. Ok, but now time has changed and we are all expected to use these new systems. New systems that are meant to simplify your life and that of those in the HR department. But: do they?
To me they look more like social media platforms, where recording your time and absence is just a small part of what they do. Is it the marketing lot taking over? This, in my humble-not-expert opinion, counts for the detriment of simplicity of use and effectiveness of result. Adding unnecessary layers on layers, complicates the structure and deters from the main focus. To me this is reminiscent of a heavy, showy make up: why is it needed? What is there underneath?
On top of this, where I work the system has been now down for a few weeks, which has forced us all to revert back to pen and paper.
I rest my case.

Itrent Is Just Terrible

They power an app called itrent to manage peoples pay, wage slips, holidays etc. To say it absolutely rubbish is an understatement. Numerous staff having problems logging in, password not being recognized, can't get support and so on and so forth. Terrible just terrible.

Just tried to log in to access my pay…

Just tried to log in to access my pay slip. When I eventually find the link I then have to input my user name and password….ok….then I have code verification via my personal email…then I have to change my password ( I’ve only been using the system for 3 months) and then, to add insult to injury I have another verification stage via a code sent to my mobile , are you guys having a laugh? what a complete joke and what a completely useless system….this is what we call progress, I would call it it absolute crap
