Decoration of hall and landing completed to a high standard with plenty of attention to detail. Vince worked cleanly and always left a tidy area behind him. I would definitely use M J Kloss again.

Very happy with the work that was carried out. We had two bathroom ceilings painted and the back of one door. The work was done in a very professional manner. Very good paint job, fast and efficient service and he left the two bathrooms clean and tidy. Couldn't be happier. Would use their service again.

We needed some replastering work done and some painting at our rental property in Fulham. Felix met me and provided a quote, which was reasonable, so I gave him the go ahead. His team did a great job, removing the water damaged plaster, installing new plaster, allowing time for the plaster do dry, then painting the walls, ceiling and woodwork in multiple rooms. The rooms are looking so much better now and the tenants are happy. Happy to recommend MJ Kloss!

The work itself was completed quickly and to a good standard, however my overall experience didn’t fully align with the expectations set at the quoting stage.

The initial consultation gave the impression of a small, in-house team based locally, whereas the job was carried out via non-local subcontracting. This wasn’t necessarily a problem in itself, but did give a false representation versus the quoting process and I would have appreciated clearer communication about how the work would be delivered before committing.

Given the premium pricing, I expected a more hands-on service, particularly when it came to colour choice. Testing a few paint swatches directly on the walls would have helped give confidence before proceeding. That level of support wasn’t included.

There was also no meaningful follow-up once the work was completed. Aside from contacting me about invoicing, the company didn’t check in to ask whether I was happy with the result or if anything needed addressing, which felt disappointing.

While there is a guarantee offered, I didn’t feel the overall service justified the higher cost compared to using an independent contractor. With more transparency, aftercare and a slightly more tailored approach, the experience could have been much stronger.

Really good company. I had 2 decorators in for two separate jobs. Both were excellent, friendly, reliable and did a fantastic job. I had doors, door frames and bannisters painted, wallpaper stripped and wall painted. Media wall, and ceiling painted and skirting attached and old light fitting holes filled in. I was extremely pleased with the result.

This is the second time we have used Kloss for our decorating and they have done a very good job. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Would strongly recommend them.

Always reliable. I have used M J Kloss 3 or 4 times now, for both internal and external paintwork. The workers are always excellent and willing to help with unexpected bits and pieces. The office people are friendly, the estimates are honest.

Very polite, organised and understanding of what is required. Quotes are well prepared and the invoices folloed on accurately with no hidden add-ons. Very accommodating at taking on a few painting extras as the job progressed and worked internal and external jobs according to the weather so good time management. Prices competitive, friendly team, good communications, what more do you need, highly recommended.

We engaged M J Kloss to repaint all walls and ceilings in our apartment. The service we received was excellent in all respects, from clear and competative quotation, to efficient communications arranging timings and appointments to the execution of the work. Joseph was so quick, clean, tidy, helpful and pleasant to have in our home.

My whole experience with this company was excellent the painter i had was so good and handled my furniture and decor like they were glass, so caring. Im disabled so didn't manage to clear everything ready for painting but it was no issue. I highly recommend this company for ur painting and wallpaper. Brilliant service from start to finish.

Based on previous contracts with them, we hired MJ Kloss to repair damaged wallpaper, a ceiling and an older window that was cracked and required repainting. As usual the experience was trouble free and done to an excellent standard.

We returned to MJKloss as they had done excellent work on some interior work a couple of years ago. Once again we are very pleased with the completed job, this time on the exterior. In both cases the painters have been friendly, professional and painstaking in their approach, finishing on time.
We have found MJKloss to be efficient throughout the process from start to finish, and would highly recommend using them.

MJ Kloss decorated my hallway, kitchen and bathroom and did an excellent, professional job. Communication was excellent - they even managed to start the job earlier than originally planned for.

The decorator was very friendly and prompt each morning to get on with the job.

Completed the work with our schedule and apart from a small dribble did a very good job. The dribble of paint was corrected and we have had a good experience with the painters doing a good job.

Great CRM when a few issues arose all sorted to my satisfaction.

I left a 2 star review (copied in full below) and was advised that I had left it for the wrong company: I used MJKloss Carpentry and this is MJKloss Painters. The response said there was no connection between the companies and asked me to take down my review. I immediately took it down as I don't want to bad mouth a company undeservingly.

Well... turns out it's the same company after all. Same registered address, same correspondence address, hell the website even says one is an arm of the other.

So I've taken away a star and here is the review back. One day maybe they'll learn to stop lying. Doubt it.

ORIGINAL REVIEW
Really disappointing experience. We brought in MJ Kloss to install some reclaimed wood floors. They inspected them and determined they needed planing before they could be laid, we trusted them and the price seemed reasonable. At first things went well and work began only a couple of days behind schedule. We hit a snag when about half the wood had been laid and it emerged they hadn't got round to planing the rest.

This is when the lies began. After not responding to multiple emails, I managed to get hold of them by phone and was told that the wood had been planed and loaded into a van, but the driver had been taken suddenly ill. Then the next day, the wood was somehow unplaned again and needed to be unloaded. There was 3 weeks of back and forth with our wood reaching, variously, 90% complete... 99% done just one more day... oh wait we haven't actually started yet. I called out Coralie at MJK on the lies and she denied ever saying it. Eventually, by escalating my complaint, we agreed to pay only for the work completed with an additional discount and with then returning the remaining wood. This was a really fair result, and the reason they get 2 stars rather than 1.

HOWEVER the story does not end there. We brought a new carpenter in to try to finish the floors off, and he took one look at what had been done and asked why on earth we had planed such beautiful wood. It needed de-nailing, which he did in our apartment in half a day, and then he laid the remaining half in 2 days flat. He charged £800. MJK came to about £4000 all in, and because of the unnecessary planing looks nowhere near as good as the unplaned wood we laid later on.

3 months, £4000, for what we now know should have been 2 days and £800. Says it all really.

Quality of the work is excellent. Craig who was undertaking the decorating was flexible and thorough. He made it an easy experience.

M J Kloss were excellent from start to finish. This is the second time that I have used them and didn't even bother getting alternative quotes this time around.

The decorator was a superstar, polite, friendly and he did the most amazing job.
