From the start to the finish.

These guys are outstanding. I've done over 1m miles on motorcycles over the years between work and pleasure, touring Europe the UK and Ireland, but, I'm always looking for the next challenge and these guys coughed up big time. Providing excellent value for money, attention to detail, pre trip support, quality bikes and a wealth of knowledge and experience of the surrounding landscapes and cultures. I'll be forever grateful to the team for Providing me with such fantastic memories. Be warned though, this is not an easy trip. Hone your riding skills, do some research and listen to the advice given. Your safety is paramount to the team but safety should start at home.

Have you ever dreamed of an epic motorbike tour? Beyond the Timmelsjoch, the Stelvio Pass or the Transfagarasan? This 11-day Himalayan adventure in Ladakh with Motorbike Expeditions will take you to the world’s highest motorable passes – and much more. It will take your breath – both metaphorical as well as physical.
The route is in part tarmac, and in part (sometimes bad) gravel. Thus, you should be able to ride a bike for several hours and should have been traveling on gravel roads before, but you don’t have to be an off-road expert. If you have this experience – just do it. If not, ask back with the organizers – there are also some groups with people with less experience. The fantastic team of this company will help you through all your challenges and support you whenever you need it in a very helpful, personal and friendly way. Thus – don’t think twice – do it! You’d regret letting this chance of a unique adventure pass.
I don’t have to add many additional pictures of these epic landscapes and passes – there are sufficient on the net – see also the respective video footage of Motorbike Expeditions. We had it all – wonderful weather with sunshine and endless views as well as snowstorm – thus, be prepared for all weather conditions and all types of adventurous experiences.
A few more words about the ride and the organization. Motorbike Expeditions arranges the transfer from Delhi to Bhuntar where you are welcomed by the organizers and receive your bike. Unlike other organizers, you may choose whether you stay with the 411 or you prefer the more advanced 450 (but I suggest the 411 because this bike is extremely robust although it only has about 27 PS, but this is sufficient – believe it or not….). On the first day you make an introductory ride and then you start off in your adventure. This is a journey for motorbikers that love to travel – you will not visit hundreds of monasteries, but you will enjoy hundreds of hairpin bends and thousands of breathtaking (in a double sense) viewpoints. The passes are organized in ascending altitude to avoid altitude problems. After visiting all of them and overcoming all other obstacles you will return to Leh, from where your flight will bring you back to Delhi.
The tour is exceptionally well organized (but flooding etc. might change the tour plan). You are accompanied by experienced local guides that are familiar with the language (and English), the way to organize all the necessary permits (in advance), how to quickly pass all these checkpoints, and most importantly they care about you in a very personal, friendly and supportive way. You get advice on how to avoid altitude problems, you get support in driving your bike (and in case of emergency you could change into the backup vehicle and one of the guides or technicians will ride your bike), and the members of Motorbike Expeditions are around in the evening if anything is needed. Every evening the bikes are checked and prepared for the next day. Even your stay in Delhi, or tours to the Taj Mahal, can be arranged by the Motorbike Expeditions office.
Having said so much, I simply would like to thank all the guys (organizers, tour guides, technicians, photographer and camera man for videos from Motorbike Expeditions for their support and this unforgettable adventure and experience. And to the reader I just suggest – just do it!

My Wife and I joined the Motorbike Expeditions 11 day tour of Ladakh.
What a great experience it was, Amit and the crew were simply fantastic, the trip was well planned and coordinated.
Each day was well planned with ample rest breaks built in, the countryside was just mesmerising.
We chose the newer 450cc which never missed a beat as they were checked over every night once we reached that days final destination.
The company has left a great impression on us and we think we shall book another trip with Motorbike Expeditions.
If you are thinking about a ride in India do yourself a favour and go with these guys.

What a blast!!
Right from the first time I contacted Surya communication was first class.
Booking was a simple process with lots of confirmation emails.
I did the 11 day Umling La tour and it was everything I had hoped and so much more.
A true adventure even though it was guided. We did things on a motorcycle that I would never have attempted on my own!

Deepak and his team guided and supported us through varied and stunning landscapes, water crossings and of course, the highest passable road in the world.

While I had watched several YouTube videos, nothing prepared me for the epic scale of Ladakh region.

Each day the rides provided different challenges, optional "shortcuts", water crossings and of course huge mountain passes.

Did the 11 day roof of India tour. Fantastic scenery.
The riding was more challenging than expected and some 9hr days but I enjoyed every minute.
Team were extremely helpful.

Great experience and hell of a trip if you enjoy biking with views. From start to finish, the guides looked after us everyday with helping us with anything we needed.
The bikes we're kept up to amazing standard and tended to every night before the next mornings ride to ensure there were no problems during the day.
Hotels and food were clean and up to good standard for the remote locations you stay in.
Great mixture of offroading with some water crossings and amazing tarmac roads with breathtaking views.
Highly recommend to any biker, experienced or novice.

A Fantastic experience from start to finish. These guys go the extra mile & give you the experience of a lifetime. Every day is a different challenge & experience, throwing in 120 to 270kms of riding on-road & off-road with a variety of gravel and sometimes sand, not to mention water-crossings and all surrounded in stunning scenery.

The team make every effort to ensure that you have the best experience & look after your every need. The hotels chosen by Motorbike expeditions are great & provide fantastic meals with a comfortable place to sleep each night thus giving you the ability to have a fresh start each morning for the next day's challenge.

The team are exceptionally friendly and are always on hand to offer advice & help at every step of the way. The guides are fantastic and ensure that the right pace is set for the group through all terrains.

From start to finish this experience exceeded my expectation. My first time to India and I wouldn’t have managed without the constant support from the motorbike expeditions team. All of them were helpful and friendly and supported me through any issues I had, including leaving my helmet on the transfers coach day 1!!
My Top Tips.
Make sure you get all your gear of the coach from Delhi to Bhuntar.
The coach is comfy however don’t expect to get much sleep. A couple of stops mean toilet breaks are okay.
Throughout the ride pay attention to the guides advice as they are looking out for you.
Don’t underestimate the altitude. It has a significant effect.
Accommodation whilst basic is also very comfortable and perfectly adequate and also a nice change as each nights stay is in a different area and has a different cultural backdrop.

The views are stunning and the ride can be challenging but definitely worth the effort as you definitely feel a sense of achievement each day culminating in the penultimate days rise up Umling La Pass.

I don’t do any other trips either before or after the expedition however others on my trip did some before and after. And they all thought worthwhile.

I met with one friend from the US but made 9 others on the ride all supporting each other.

I am definitely thinking of doing another of their tours to Nepal as this team really do know how to look after you.

Breakfast dinner and tea each day were well organised so we always had food and water throughout the trip.

My final advice is give these lads a chance and then tip them well as they are a fantastic company. All bikers for bikers

What an incredible trip and what great guides. Everything was taken care of professionally. The accommodation, food and events were amazing. The riding was unbelievable and so much fun. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone and I hope to be back to take another of their tours in the future

We had a fantastic time on the expedition, the guys looked after all the needs of each person in the group and provided fab accommodation and food throughout, the bikes were in excellent condition and was trouble free apart from the odd horn connection which was fixed by the mechanic if it failed

My wife and I went on the 11 day Himalayas tour with Motorbike Expeditions. The trip was absolutely amazing. This truly was a lifetime experience of adventure riding, amazingly beautiful and impressive landscapes, excitement, culture, great food and friendship.

The support and care from the team from Motorbike Expeditions was above expectations. They are very professional, communicate well and the gear, accomodation, food and general care was excellent. We recommend this trip highly.

Well, they are Indians so they always have that nasty habit of pushing their former clients to leave reviews.
That's really disgusting!
However, this is the only unpleasant thing I can say about them.
I did a Ladakh motorcycle tour with them and everything was beyond my expectations:
- the motorbikes were in good shape and were checked and greased almost daily. The mechanic was able to repair any flat tire, on the road, in about 15 min.
- the communication with the team was good before, during and after the tour (no misunderstandings, "hidden fees" or any bad surprises);
- the boys are very friendly to hang out and have fun but also very serious when they must do their job;
- after the tour I rented a motorcycle to ride by myself and they gave me a discount without even asking for it.
