Absolutely disgusting total rip off! We took our 4 year old MG to the Manchester Oldham Road branch, it is in excellent condition less than £45,000 miles on the clock, MOT 11 months , they left us waiting for 20 mins then a dodgy mechanic came out and took the log book and ID, didn’t even look at the car and said we will check with MG if you serviced the car at specific times as if you didn’t within 5 miles your warranty is null and void! How I laughed as we had just had the car calibrated at MG who were offering to buy our car or trade it in and its still under another years warranty. We rang MG where we bought the car from and confirmed what MP had said , they confirmed total rubbish, as long as it had been regularly serviced which it had the car was well under warranty. But guess what MP tried to do deduct value of the car if we didn’t have it serviced with 5 miles of what they thought you should have a service! How ridiculous! We have had it serviced every year, and MOT the last year not a problem! It is also a top spec model and was a showroom model and brought straight from the showroom when they were changing their stock for new ones. He then advised it was reducing another £1500 because the garage had not stamped the book fully only partially on a service - seriously! Then this took the car down beyond what was owed on finance and would have meant we paid MP money to sell our car! Now they still haven’t seen the car as yet , we are still held in the waiting area and no view or check on the engine or car what’s so ever. While we were waiting they were also ripping off another customer £250 for not bringing log book with them to the appointment and he had to go home to get it but until he came back wanted £250 to have his guarantee he was coming back without the sale as yet on the car! I was just amazed. We asked for the manager as our car is valued around £9,500, asked why they weren’t going outside to the see the car and he said didn’t need to , if we say it’s not under warranty then it devalues the car, if we say it’s not serviced at the right time it devalues the car , if we don’t like it take the car elsewhere! He also said as the stamp is blurred on one section it also devalues the car! By now the car reduced by over £2,000, we knew what was coming next that they will continue to look for ways to devalue the car, so I said we are leaving, and didn’t appreciate the time wasting, we were basically told have a nice day! So I hopped in my Tesla and my hubbie in the MG and we left. We didn’t need to to be ripped off by a dodgy salesman and a dodgy mechanic! The only reason we came here was because we have two cars and there is no need for us to have the MG anymore. Honestly stay well clear of these people as we have sold our car now to a garage the next day for £9,500 cleared our finance and made profit. This place don’t help, don’t give you the value of your car and only want to rip you off with false excuses and tactics to scare you and reduce the value of a perfectly excellent condition 4 year old car, then are incredibly rude when you catch them out and front up their tactics and games! We rang MG as we left and they were in total shock by what we were being told and again offered us a part ex and a brand new car as again confirmed no issues with warranty or the service. We have reported MotorPoint to trading standards who are very interested in the whole warranty and devalue of our car conversation. What we also noticed is your kept away from people buying a car , kept isolated in a separate waiting area need we say more! Stay away from these far more suitable and reputable garages about than these jokers!

Great customer service, no faffing around with prices and car ready quickly. Would use again if needed a new car.

Took my car to motorpoint mcr
Told me my on board computer was displaying a different milage to what the mileometer was displaying. Completely embarrassed me in front of numerous other people.
I stressed I had bought the car new and only me drove it so that was impossible... Told me motorpoint wanted nothing to do with my car 😟
Drove straight to VW where I bought it new and asked them to do the same milage check...... VW confirmed my mileometer was perfectly correct and he had no idea what motorpoint were talking about.

Great experience

I will not be purchasing from this company again, nor will I recommend them to friends or family. While they initially talked a good game, their attitude changed completely once payment was made.
There were outstanding jobs that should have been completed but weren’t, forcing me to go elsewhere to have the work done. Even something as simple as arranging a valet at collection proved unnecessarily difficult.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.

All went ok but i went to Stockton to pick it up and it wasn’t ready 5 hour round trip from Manchester. Had to wait another week before I got the car . I was disappointed by the standard of the detailing, apart from the paint job on the passenger side wing which was satisfactory, there were two areas where two chips on the door and the wing had been dabbed with paint, which looks uneven and not finished to a good standard

Straight forward with no hassle

We purchased our car from Motorpoint in Manchester. The salesman Ben was very polite and helpful he answered all our questions, and helped us with the transaction which made it easy for us. Thank you Ben.

Picked up a Kia Picanto, the staff were amazing, and there was no pressure to make a sale and couldn’t help enough. Ben Faulkner was our sales rep and explained everything and was very professional. Price of the car was worth every penny.

Motor point offered me the best price for my car, more than the part exchange offer I got for my new car. They are very professional and very thorough so sellers beware! If your car has any in-perfections that you have not declared, they will find them and your quote will be reduced accordingly. I have no issue with this at all, it's exactly as it should be and as they advertise. Paperwork etc could have been simpler if the agent had asked me to bring in a settlement figure for that day (had to call the finance company for the figure), other than that the money went through very quickly. Looking at their set up I would think that if you bought a car from them you could be certain that is was good. Would definitely use again.

Easy way all good

Made an appointment at mancherster branch for Saturday morning turned up given my valuation and then told no mechanic in till Monday, so having agreed a price pending mechanic report went away leaving the car there . Why not tell you this before you arrive on a weekend . So no phone call by 1400hrs so I had to phone them to find out where my money was only to be told they didnt want my car because the engine oil was milky and my head gasket had blown . Total rubbish , collected my car and went to my mechanic who inspected the oil and tested the engine no blown head gasket it was normal residue from a car that doesn't do a lot of running temp running mainly stop start trips .
Wouldn't use or advise anyone to use them because there mechanics are obviously not real ones

From the website, to George in the office to Ben and Abdul in the depot… positive / professional. The smoothest purchase of a car we have ever had. Any concerns / glitches ironed out - patient and nothing was too much trouble… excellent customer service. Will be returning as 2 other family members need wheels. It was refreshing as sadly Skoda, Cupra and Toyota had largely ignored us on entering their showrooms. Only MG (Stockport & Knutsford) and Peugeot showed us what a good buying experience should look like. What’s happened to the art of selling? Our faith has been restored for now. We got the right car (Hyundai Kona at a good price and a fair trade in deal).

It was a great experience – everything was really quick and easy. Ben was really lovely and took the time to go through everything with me. He showed great knowledge and explained things clearly, which made the whole process feel straightforward. He was also really supportive throughout. There was also another lovely gentleman who helped me when I came to collect the car. He made the process really quick and easy again, and I was able to drive my new car away in less than an hour.

Overall, it was a really positive experience and I would definitely recommend Motorpoint to any friends or family members who are looking for a car.

Ben dealt with me and was friendly, efficient and professional although his only disadvantage was being a Burnley fan! 🤣
