AVOID SCAM

Said it had my manual. Paid £1.49 didn't have my manual. I then found out it was a subscription of £25 a month!! Scandalous, con artist!

AVOID THIS SITE

I paid £1.49 in November 2022 and downloaded a manual. I have now discovered they have been taking £24.90 a month without my knowledge. I have now cancelled online but will also contact my bank/ card company to ensure no further payments are made. Having read other reviews and Mymanuals replies they look like a con/scam.
DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR DETAILS.

Scam scam

(1.45 for manual then without me knowing 24.90 a month seems the normal thing with this company people read reviews beforehand and don't get scammed

it’s a scam!

Trustpilot seem to be in the thrall of mymanuals.com/ net. This company has these two email addresses, to create a loop hole for complaints. After the same experience as many others we were charged for an unwanted ( and hidden) subscription. After contacting ASA they put me in touch with their counterpart in Ireland where this company is based. As a result the subscription details are more transparent on their website. Even though I sent copies of my bank statement of 4 unauthorised payments to Tripadvisor my original review has been deleted. Fortunately my bank procured a total refund which mymanuals refused to give. It’s a scam!

Needed a manual urgently so went online…

Needed a manual urgently so swent online seemed a reputable company so purchased it. I am nearly 80 and had just had a stroke and was paralysed on the right side of my body and was not physically able to check bank balance but as I was not able to go out or spend money did not think I needed to. How wrong can I be My Manuals were taking out money each month for nothing except to fill their pockets. I realise they put this in their terms and conditions but in future I will never buy anything online unless I am sure of their integrity as I had to alert my bank cancel my cards and details. How sad we have a company like this with no scruples.
Received a reply to my review which is a standard reply notice how many reviews have now been deleted due to the company deciding that it was not appropriate
Provided the truth in my review and felt others should be made aware of my experience and would therefore would read the terms and conditions.

Do it go near this company

I went to look for a manual for an item I had been given. I did not find it on this website and as I only used the account that the payment came out of very rarely I did not see the monthly amounts coming out and am now £290.00 down. They have refused to refund my money. Do not go near this company it is a con.

Avoid this company at all costs.

Avoid this company at all costs. They charge a low reasonable price for the initial manual and then sign you up in an obscure and unclear way to a much larger regular monthly payment. Do not use. A quick update as at 13th March. My manuals have implied this review has illegal content. This follows me pointing out that in not returning the £24.90 they are in breach of the 14 day cooling off trading standards requirement. I await to see whether they return this money. Update 20th March. MyManuals indicated by mail they would return the money over a week ago. They haven’t.

Confirm Judith Sheppard's experience

Like many others, I bought a manual for £1.49, and mymanuals a few days charged my card with £24.90.
Luckily my card provider (Revolut) either blocked or reversed the transaction (I can't remember which because this is now 22 months ago!)
And now I get this message from Trustpilot saying that I have to provide more details (including my 'phone number to go to mymanuals!) or they will take down my review.
If Trustpilot do take down our reviews, we have another scam to report, but hopefully they will with human eyes look at this page and realise what is going on.

i am replying too judith sheppard last review ,yes i got same email from trust pilot saying my mauals review was fake and wanting my email and phone number etc .
felt intermediating to be honesty!
asked me to forward proof of purchase or my review would be removed .
disappointed with trust plot if i am honest thought they were on the consumers' side

How many people on here have received the message "Mymanuals have been trying to contact you without success" ? MyManuals obviously didn't try very hard as my e-mail address and phone number haven't changed ! I wonder if they are going to offer us all a refund ? It would be good if they did

I ordered a user guide for my heating…

I ordered a user guide for my heating thermostat on 16/2/23 and paid £1.49. The guide was emailed to me and I thought that was it. Today I saw on my bank statement that 4 days later Mymanuals.net took £24.90 from my bank account. I was so concerned I cancelled my bank card. I phoned Mymanuals.net and got an answer and the woman told me that I had signed up to a monthly subscription at £24.90 per month which she immediately cancelled but the £24.90 I paid is non refundable!!!!! Reading the reviews on her it seems I am not the only one to have been caught out by this scam.
Edit - Mymanuals response to this is a joke. I have since read their website and the terms and conditions more closely and they are really taking the mickey. Absolute con artists. Also the email they sent is ridiculous and I feel really stupid now for falling for it and losing money to them. Pays to read things closely and be more discerning.

Another victim of My Manuals

Like so many others I ordered a £1.49 from MyManuals in December, not seeing in the VERY small print that I was signing up to direct debits. Only when I checked my online banking did I realise I had been conned and cancelled the payments. I have complained to the company with no response and am not hopeful of getting the Halifax to refund. Read Trustpilot and steer clear!

Scammers alert 🚨 Don’t use this service.The man on the phone was so rude,unhelpful and condescending.!!!
They’ve taken monthly payments, which I didn’t sanction ,after I paid for one manual last September.
I’m sure I did not sign up for monthly subscription…who would pay £25 monthly to access the odd manual.?
I can’t even download one copy as I’ve ,now,cancelled…I’ve paid for the privilege of a very ‘not nice ‘phone call.,
Don’t be caught out.!
Just noticed that Look4Manuals has the same phone number. Watch out.!

Scammers

I went to their website and filled in the details of the item I wanted a manual for. The site came back to say they had the manual and to subscribe to download it. I did then they told me that they DIDN'T have it. They had my money but not the goods I had paid for. Scammers. I got my bank to stop payments. Don't touch with a bargepole.

Scam

Like hundreds of others I have been scammed by this company. I thought I was buying a manual for a couple of quid and later I saw that £20 was deducted from my card - and that this was an annual payment. I phoned the helpline who cancelled my future payments and confirmed by email. They would not refund the overpayment.

It's theft by deception

To all those on here who think they have been scammed! You haven't. You have been stolen from. If you bought something on your credit card and three days later an extra £24.90 is taken from your account, its theft. It is theft by deception and somebody in that stinking company needs to go to prison.

Update: 16/02/23 And then the very next day I get an email from Trust Pilot
"You’ve written a review for Mymanuals, and they’ve asked for more details to better understand your experience.
If you don’t respond, your review may be taken offline."
You have to supply your phone number and a reference. 1) Why would I want to justify myself to them 2) There is no reference that I've seen in any correspondence with Trustpilot. I'm guessing the logic is that you do nothing are your post is removed.
Pretty disgraceful really.
