Fast, efficient, with a personal touch. Usually bureaucracy scares me. This cut through all red tape and made the experience a delightful one.

My title transfer process was super easy and allowed me to avoid dealing directly with the DMV (and it was faster, too). I liked how they followed up with emails and "what to do next" instructions, too.

I (like so many others) went to the DMV website & was redirected to this site.. THEY CHARGED ME $150 EXTRA to register my vehicles!! man i F'ed up!! & THEY WILL NOT REFUND ANYTHING TO ANYBODY! hmm, what kind of businesses do that?!
BEWARE when you are doing your registration! THIS WEBSITE IMMITATES the DMV SITE! Looks very similar! WATCH WHEN YOU CHECK OUT FOR EXTRA FEES!! I feel super stupid that i fell for this! Could of used that $150 for so many other things!

I ordered a duplicate of title service this month and I’ve received it directly from DMV within two weeks. And it is 10 days after they proceed with my files. I really appreciate this service since I needed this replacement title anxiously. Fun fact, I even placed a wrong order at first and I contact them through email and they refunded me very soon. For those that need fast title replacement I believe NeedTags can provide you good service.

They do a great job keeping you informed of each step along the way. If you have questions they respond very quickly. So far I’m very happy with the service.

Need tags made everything easy and quick. The best part is you get an exclusive copy of your registration emailed to you until your tags come in the mail. They are a legit company that work with DMV and they handle everything. So I had to get a smog check before registering and their system checked after I got it done. I didn't have to submit it myself and they automatically registered my car. It was great! Thank you 🙏

At first, I thought I was able to just walk in, no hassle and pay on the spot and get my tags. That was not the case. Fortunately I've known the director at the Grass Valley location for many years. He told me it's not a problem. Try it out I think you'll like it. It was amazing. I dealt with a wonderful lady. She walked me through the process. Accepted my payment. Then responded back saying she needed proof of my insurance. I needed to scan or attach a PDF. At first we had difficulties. She was so patient and helpful. I was finally able to scan it so she could read it. We had a brief exchange of thank yous and I left this process knowing that even though it cost me 49 more dollars plus shipping, and that increase my cost by 30% or more for registering my car, overall the experience was good but the DMV should consider lowering the fee for a convenience to do it online. We should not have to pay 30% more for something that cost you 50% less to process. All things considered you're making 80% more net operating income because you pushed the cost off on us and lowered your cost at the same time.

The downside is this. The staff was cut in Grass Valley by nine people. This is going to significantly affect the management team's ability to process all requests remaining that are allowed to be done in the office. I'm certain that you're reviews in the future for other services than the one I did, will not be pleasant. Additionally you're going to have a hard time finding good people to work under those conditions. You can't keep whipping the horse. You need to provide it the support it needs to get to the top of the hill. Constantly beating it to perform will not work.

This company is a SHAM. I paid them 680 dollars to renew a registration and while they sent me the registration, they did not pay the CA DMV. The DMV placed a hold on the registration and forced me to pay them the 600 fee (80 dollars was the mark up). DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. FRAUD!!!!!!!

UPDATE -
I have no way to respond to the company's response separately so I am adding my response here. The CA DMV insisted over this long period that they never received the money from Need Tags for the tags I received. The reason I am writing now is because now is when I need a new registration and I could not get one until I paid the money for the registration from last year (I was late in paying last year b/c I moved and didn't get the reminder hence the strange date sequence). So the dates are absolutely correct. I begged Need Tags to help me deal with the DMV way back when this problem occurred. They refused over and over again. I said - if you paid the DMV, show me the proof or call them on my behalf. They simply refused. I called so many times and the woman who answered the phone did not care at all. She did not ever - not once - try to help in any way. It seems to me that if Need Tags paid for the tag they sent me, they'd have proof of it and that showing it to the DMV - or sharing it with me to show the DMV - would resolve my problem. I cannot figure out to this day what happened and why. I thought for a long time that the DMV was just mistaken, but the DMV contends that there are a lot of sham companies out there (they get the tags using some sham payment and the DMV doesn't realize it until its too late) and essentially the DMV said shame on me for being dumb enough to use a 3rd party (our government dollars at work). I did this accidentally of course because Need Tags comes up when you search for CA DMV on the internet.
So I find it ironic that now that I have taken the time to write this review - because I paid the $600 to the DMV today to get my new registration - that Need Tags acts so nice and claim they want to help me. If they wanted to help, they would have done so months ago when I begged. Unless you want to refund my money or show the DMV proof that you paid for my tag so they will give me a refund, your placating words are completely hollow. I will do everything I can to let everyone out there know what happened so no one else falls prey to this scam. PROVE ME WRONG NEED TAGS!

2nd update -
Listen, I agree that on the surface you would not think a company could buy something without paying for it. But I have spoken to so many people at the CA DMV and they all insist they do not have the money. I have wasted so many hours of my life on this. If you in fact paid for my tag, show me the proof. Of course, how that I've paid the $600 twice, it will be so much harder to get it back, but at least I could try. You keep insisting you paid for the tag - WHERE IS THE PROOF? I am not telling anyone any incorrect information. I am telling the absolute truth based upon my HORRIBLE experience with you. If you paid, PROVE IT!

It was convenient process for not having much time. and it was very fast to get a feedback from a customer service when I asked a question. I am fully satisfied with NeedTags. Wow

I submitted the paperwork not in full. When I received the notice of what they needed I turned it in. Right away a email was sent the paperwork had been processed. It doesn't get any better than that!

Review edit: I have changed my review from 5 stars to 2 stars due to the lack of transparency in the payment process. Upon submitting the form for my tags, I was told to pay now $149 of the $200 my registration was going to cost. Upon seeing the charges on my card, I see I am being charged $477 when originally told $200. I went back to the website to see where things went wrong. I realize now that the website is intentionally ambiguous with the wording of charges. For these reasons, I will not use this service again nor recommend to others. Had the charges been more upfront, I may have still gone thru with it in which case I would not feel tricked.

Original review: Very convenient to not have to go into DMV and wait in line. Submit online form, mail documents and you're done!

Great service experience. I called with a question regarding the status of my order and the representative reviewed my information and processed the order quickly and send the email confirmation while I was still on the phone. Also provided a timeline and expected delivery as well as steps to take if my order is not received within the timeframe.

I made a mistake and paid $149 which I did not need to do. I was later advised not to transfer my title. So, I called your customeri service and you took care of it with no questions. Thank you so very much. I cannot tell you how grateful I am.
