Alex led the team in a highly efficient & professional manor. His team used their initiative; they responded well to our requests. They had a tremendous understanding of the issues involved on packing/moving. In 50 years of moving around both within UK & abroad we have never experienced a better service. And they worked through the recent heat wave!

I recently used Northstar Removals for our move into their storage premises and then back out again into our new home. They also provided an excellent packing service, along with a full inventory for our belongings whilst in storage.

Both moves, into and out of storage, were handled amazingly well. The team were excellent throughout — friendly, professional, experienced, and incredibly helpful.

We found everyone we met from Northstar, from MD to van driver to be wonderful, professional and to have a great sense of humour. They needed it to contend with our move!
The team moving us out in January had to cope with a slippery sloping drive, whilst the team bringing our effects from storage to our new house had to park 100m from the property and - due to slippage in some project jobs - were in competition with window fitters, a floor refurbisher and an external cladding team – all of whome needed access!
We highly recommend and will definitely advise friends and colleagues to look at Northstar when they move.

I very highly recommend Northstar Removals. From Denis's initial contact and site visit through to the removal itself, the whole moving experience was made less painful, by the fantastic Northstar team. John and the crew were punctual, polite and professional. They packed quickly and thoroughly and it was no trouble to ask them to rearrange items as they unpacked. Brilliant all-round.

The only reason this is not a 1-star review is because the removals crew themselves were decent.

This was a safeguarding move, so discretion and professionalism were essential. Instead, the Northstar owner disclosed my move to the person I was leaving, which created a highly distressing situation for me. Rather than taking accountability or showing common sense, he then sent multiple follow-up emails justifying his actions and escalating matters further.

I was also significantly overcharged. By that point, after months of poor handling and concerns that further confidential information could be mishandled if I raised a complaint, I decided to walk away rather than have any further dealings with the company.

The move was completed, but the handling, communication and judgement were very poor. The crew also took a lunch break midway through the move rather than after it, which felt odd given the circumstances.

I would not use Northstar again. It is simply a relief that the saga is over.

Update 1 - their DARVO reply rather proves my point about a lack of confidentiality disclosing my name, company etc in a public platform like this as well as breaching GDPR. Plus their flagging my review for defamation and their email to pressure me to change my review using legal language. I have amended the review to one star as a result.

Update 2 - Image management is their priority, not the consequences to the customer of their actions or the customer experience. In their reply, they refer to 'readers' as opposed to me, their customer, which shows what's important to them.
They are incorrect about seeking 'permission' from the person doing me harm to get my contents out of storage which was in an account named under my name only, with all crates only with my name on them. There were undertones of misogyny in this case. I had specifically told them not to contact that person and to let me do the communications to the person, but Northstar jumped the gun and informed that person first that I was leaving, which resulted in me being abused by that person. I told the Northstar owner the consequences of his actions straight away, but he continued to create and send his tone deaf antagonising emails to all and sundry broadcasting far and wide as much personal information as possible. They only needed to contact the company whose name they have disclosed in their reply as a curtesy that I was moving. That company was pretty unbothered about it but alarmed at the abuse I was getting. This case would've been more sensitively and diplomatically handled I suspect by one of their female employees and not the 'bull in the china shop' approach that was taken by the Northstar owner taking over the situation. They might have then got a better review. It's certainly a learning point for them.

Northstar did a great job. They went above and beyond, with no complaints despite some bits that happened on the day which were outside of their control. We'd absolutely use them again. Overall, a very smooth process from video survey, to delivery of packing materials the week before, to packing and shipping.

John and the team (inc. Alex & Victor) were outstanding. So friendly, thorough and efficient – got the job done painlessly and easily. There was a lot to move and they did it brilliantly – highly recommended and we’d use Northstar again without hesitation.

We have used the Northstar twice in recent months for two moves. With both of these, the team comprising of Denis, Paulina Antonia and the removals guys were all very polite, friendly, helpful and patient at all times. I'm delighted to give them five stars for their wonderful service and have no hesitation in recommending this company and all of its staff.

An absolute dream from start to finish. Quick, friendly, helpful and a pleasure to have during our house move. Would highly recommend the whole company. All dealings with all staff have been easy and enjoyable. Mason, Victor and Kris did a wonderful job today!

Hands down the best service we have received from any service company we have used, the guys were polite, friendly, professional neat and most of all extremely helpful with all requests. We are not as prepared as possible, but the guys helped pack away a lot of items without complaints. Overall, the guys took what is a very stressful time and made it stress free. We can’t give enough praise for the service received. *In terms of admin team, they were on top of every request, call etc. and followed up frequently, always in a friendly manner. Highly recommend Northstar!!!

We used Northstar for a North London move and would highly recommend Dennis and his company.

From the moment I sent an enquiry, Darryl booked in a visit straight away and Denis came and took stock of everything, providing an accurate quotation which gave me comfort that he understood the amount of items to be moved and would not be charging extra later. We went for the full packing service (with materials provided) and I'm so glad that we did because it meant we had to do very little in advance and could leave everything in their trusted hands.

Mason and team did such an amazing job. Mason came a day in advance to do the packing and tackled our entire house so efficiently, with some help from Darryl. The next day, the team moved all the boxes - so carefully and always with a smile and good cheer. They patiently placed everything in the correct rooms - always friendly and accommodating and willing to take direction.

Best decision to use them. And appreciate the prompt after-care to collect the boxes as well.

PS. a tiny handful of items were left in the house so it is worth just doing a final check yourself but the team packed those when directed.

The move went far better than I expected. The movers were really great guys. Young and strong with plenty of common sense.
We paid a bit extra for them to pack the breakables which I thoroughly recommend. They packed them up the day before which made the whole experience much less stressful. I wouldn’t hesitate to pass on Northstars details to friends. In fact I have done so already.
