Avoid Opcare if you can.
After a recent amputation I would surprise a wheelchair which came from opcare the wheelchair in question was faulty with two buckled wheels and was also dinged not fit for purpose by my local authority occupational therapist. Opcare arranged for replacement wheels to be fitted this was then done some six weeks later only to find that one of the new wheels was also buckled before the chair was even sat on so I'm still awaiting and replaced from wheel again.
In the meantime my dealings with the prosthesis department have not been any better the Casual attitude of the staff consistently over promising and under delivering the routine cancelling of appointments at short notice the poor attitude and telefone manner of staff when you phone in have impacted me greatly there is no empathy or understanding that people who are attending both wheelchair and prosthesis clinics have usually suffered great loss i.e loss of limbs but there seems to be no compassion and no understanding from the individuals who worked for upcare specifically the Leicester branch I would not recommend this service from this provider to anyone and the NHS should consider removing them as one of their preferred providers.
