I was seen in the south woodford clinic by muhon and followed up by bobby. They were both very helpful and informative.

I had made an appointment for a consultation and rang them to reschedule 4 days in advance. They said I would be charged a €50 no show fee. I asked would they not fill my slot given they had so much notice and there is a waiting list and they told me they definitely would but would also have to charge me for it. I completely get a no show fee or within 48 hour cxl fee but given the waiting lists they have, to charge me with so much notice is madness. I again tried to rationally discuss this and how I was not a no show but giving them ample time to fill my apt slot and also that I was not looking at a full cancellation but wanted to rebook. Given my surgery will cost in excess of €7000 why would I trust them with my business when they were so petty over €50. I will not be rebooking and have made an apt to spend that chunk of my money with a competitor.
I’m also fully expecting them to come back with a non empathetic standard line about it being 14 days in their T&Cs but this does not address the common sense approach of people with lots of notice who want to reschedule or why they will take your money when they fill the same apt anyway.

Attended the South woodford clinic today and we was welcomed so lovely, we met with Sara who is patient and kind and commendated us attending with children. All our questions were answered and the consultation was smooth running. The clinic is clean and tidy. All the staff are so friendly and approachable.

Had to cancel an appointment I had with optical express due to another commitment.
Was charged 50 euro for not giving 14 days notice even though that wasn't possible as there wasn't 14 days between my booking the appointment and the appointment date.
The 14 day rule wasn't explained to me when booking the appointment or when cancelling.
Very underhand tactics from a supposedly reputable company.

I wouldn't recommend this company. Trainee on the phone told me I had 5 days to cancel. I cancelled one week and half before appointment and they took €50. Trying to get through to customer service is a nightmare and staff are rude on the phone. If you're calling from Ireland you're put through to the UK, which is an extra cost. They don't respond to emails. Imagine getting eyes corrected and you needed aftercare and trying to deal with someone. Joke! Have requested a refund and a response. Time will tell.

from the start the experience has been great: the initial consultation at Grafton Street did a series of tests, provided me with pricing and options as well a date for the procedure.
in case of any questions i always had a contact.

Regarding the procedure it was really fast and had great care at Tallaght. its strange to be conscious while having the procedure but the team made sure i was confortable. all of the instructions with eye drops were provided and after a few hours sleep i could already see the improvements.

its been less than 1 month since the procedure and i cant stress enough how life changing it is and thank you Optical Express for the care provided
