I started training with Optimus in February and will finish in October and I cannot recommend this course highly enough. I previously did ILM L5 training but finished feeling like I still didn't know what I was doing or feeling like a competent coach, but on the programme with Optimus I am really learning, really practising a lot and can feel myself evolving into a skilled coach, The course team are all fantastic and very supportive. The learning content has been brilliant, and everyone on the course is committed and great to learn with. It took me a little while to get used to a couple of the teaching methods but I can really see how it's all working, and everyone in our cohort is blooming. The course also assigns peer coaches and Ive been really fortunate to be assigned two awesome peers who I love working with. Ruth and the team are all incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, and committed to providing the best training experience and resources. You really get the sense that they genuinely care and want to be fair and go above and beyond to make it great for trainees. If you are looking for a really in-depth, thorough, practice-based programme from which you'll emerge a fantastic coach, you wont find better than Optimus in my opinion. I'd also highly recommend the ICF approach over the ILM, it feels much more in-depth and transformative, and is more enjoyable as a coach too.

I’ve really enjoyed my time on the Optimus Professional Coaching course and found the whole experience both inspiring and valuable. It has helped me deepen my understanding of coaching, gain clarity on the kind of coach I want to be, and given me the confidence to take my coaching journey forward.

I’ve also been lucky to be part of a fantastic group, which made the experience even more rewarding. It’s been a journey of both professional development and personal growth, and I’m leaving feeling motivated and excited for what comes next.

The Professional Diploma at Optimus Coaching Academy was a great mix of solid theory and plenty of real practice, always supported by people from all kinds of backgrounds (many of whom I genuinely hope to stay in touch with).

What stood out most was the balance: structured learning without losing the human, practical, slightly messy reality of coaching. I’m walking away not just with tools, but with real confidence that I can do this work - and actually enjoy it.

Completing my Professional Coach Diploma course with Optimus has been such a meaningful and positive experience. Optimus Academy created a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment from the very beginning, which made me feel safe, seen, and heard throughout the experience. That sense of openness and acceptance was also reflected in the student community. In addition, the coaches were highly professional, knowledgeable, and well-versed in a wide range of coaching methodologies. I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in exploring the field of life coaching.

I chose Optimus because I needed some flexibility in terms of schedule, but still wanted to have a cohort that I could go on the coaching journey with. I can absolutely recommend them from this perspective. The entire team was really supportive in accommodating my needs, and went go all out to help me complete the course. I have also been able to meet a great group of like-minded peers who were extremely supportive and inspiring throughout the course.

I pondered on whether to do my coaching training or not for years. There was always a reason not to, whether that was my corporate work or other training courses I was booked onto. However I came across Ruth and Optimus around 2020. What Ruth spoke about resonated with me, but what also struck me was the fact that she made it a point to show the diversity of her practice. In the many years of pondering whether to take the course, I kept coming back to Optimus. Eventually after an unintentional career break, I saw my opportunity to take the course, and I came straight to Optimus. Ruth and Optimus have been excellent learning partners for my coaching journey. They have been there each step of the way and provide so many resources and so much value. I am finishing my course, with a clearer view of who I am as a coach and more confident in my ability. Thank you to the entire team for making this such a wonderful journey! The Optimus Coaching Diploma has been an incredibly valuable experience, both professionally and personally. The course has deepened my understanding of coaching, human behaviour, and the brain, while also giving me the space to build greater self-awareness and confidence in my own coaching style.

One of the most valuable parts of the experience has been the peer coaching relationships and sense of connection built throughout the programme. The course created a supportive environment that encouraged reflection, growth, and real conversations, which I know will stay with me beyond the diploma itself.

The training has reinforced my belief in the power of giving people the space to think out loud, reflect, and navigate what’s really going on beneath the surface — something I’m continuing to develop and bring more intentionally into my coaching approach.

Optimus delivered what they promised. Their course is very broad and absolutely looks to train coaches to be able to provide an holistic approach to coaching. The teaching approach is very practical. Caoching is a practical skill and we had lots of opportunities to practice coaching and consider different scenarios. We had access to lots of additional optional learning materials. The Optimus team is extremely supportive and you get to stay part of a supportive group over the long term as an alumni.

The Professional Coach Diploma opened my eyes in ways I did not know my mind would benefit, the journey has been stretching but enjoyable throughout and meeting the minimum attendance easy as a result.

I've learned so much, some things I will use, some things I will not, but I have renewed, expanded and refreshed my "coaching wardrobe" (thanks Crystal for that phrase and the many other lines I've stolen from you).

At all times I felt supported but challenged and I've grown. I'm an ADHDer and this course's structure is neuroaffirmative with lots of breaks and the content is visually stimulating without being overwhelming.

We were grouped well and the tutors are all emotionally intelligent. I'm going to miss it now I've completed it.

As someone with ADHD and Dyslexia I was nervous about taking on another course that I might not finish or get so overwhelmed by I wouldn't put it into practice. The communications before booking reassured me of the support and understanding, and the course structure definitely delivered. I loved the different teaching and learning styles and I got so much more out of this course than any other I have been on. I'm now excited about the next steps.

Training with Optimus Coach Academy has been genuinely transformative, not just professionally, but personally. I've learnt so much about myself through the process, and the skills and frameworks I've gained have been immediately applicable. I'm already working with coaching clients and generating income from my practice. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

When I decided I wanted to train as a coach there seemed to be so many options out there. What drew me to Optimus was the psychology-based approach and holistic framework they use. Because of this, I feel that my understanding around connection & behaviours has deepened and I feel more conifdent around my offering as a new coach. By far the best part has been the connections I've made along the way with my peers. Having the opportunity to share this journey with a wonderful group of like-minded individuals has made it very special.

Optimus are brilliant at delivering coaching training that works across learning styles, builds experience and develops confidence leading to a genuine professional coaching practice. They know how to support each trainee on their coaching journey. I can’t fault them!

This programme was excellent in its organisation and delivery. Support was timely and freely available. There were good examples of coaching in action and the supervision and additional learning was pitched at just the right level for me (and as someone with ADHD I find it easy to get switched off!). Details around course work and ethics were well managed and i found the feedback on my coaching helpful and meaningful. The team were great and fostered a great sense of community in our group - all in all one of the best programmes I have been on in the coaching space and certainly the best in ND.

I’ve just completed the Optimus Advanced Certificate in Neurodiversity Coaching and would highly recommend the course. I really valued the lived and professional experience of the trainers, and also the fact that there was a mix of neurotypical and neurodivergent students within the cohort.
It is very easy to cause harm when you lack awareness of how brains work differently and that no two people have exactly the same lived experience and challenges. This course definitely helps coaches to be 'safe' for neurodivergent clients.

I can highly recommend Optimus Coaching Academy, they have been amazing from start to finish and still continue to offer alumni support through the online portal. Ruth, Donna, Crystal and all the tutors were professional yet friendly and made me feel very relaxed. I not only learnt a lot about coaching, but it has also been a rollercoaster with self development and awareness. My cohort were friendly, and I met some wonderful peer's!
