Recent Issue with PARTS OF CANADA LTD
I recently purchased a part from PARTS OF CANADA LTD and attempted to return it, unused and still in perfect condition, only to be told I was ineligible because I had opened the box.
Let that sink in.
The item was never installed, never handled beyond a visual inspection. Any reputable parts supplier should understand that a customer may need to verify a part before installation. Denying a return solely on the basis of opening the packaging—with no signs of damage or use—is not only rigid, it's anti-customer and borderline deceptive. We simply decided to purchase a new unit rather than changing out a part, so that part was no longer required.
This policy was not clearly stated at the time of purchase, nor was it communicated in a reasonable or professional manner. Instead of working with me on a solution, their team hid behind fine print and showed zero interest in customer satisfaction or long-term relationships.
This is not how a trustworthy company operates. If you're thinking of doing business with PARTS OF CANADA LTD be aware: you’re taking a risk, even if you do everything right.

If I could give a zero or negative start review I would.
You see all sorts of one star reviews which read like "the package was left in the rain" which have nothing to do with the product or the company.
But this is a bona fide one star review.
I was actually asked to write this review by Parts of Canada. I do not know why.
Do not be deceived by the image of a large warehouse. Parts of Canada is a small operation (maybe just one person). The lack of a 1-800 number is one clue and when you call, no one answers is another.
On their website, their refund policy states "we strive to ensure customer satisfaction". Nothing could be further from the truth.
Note that their restocking fee is 30% but that applies to items returned without reason. That is not my case.
I needed a ice maker for my LG refrigerator.
I when to Parts of Canada website and entered the part number AEQ36756907. The image of the ice maker was presented and I added it to my cart and bought it.
It arrived a few days later.
But when I tried to install it, it did not fit - it was about 1 inch too wide.
I looked at the part number on the label on the ice maker and it read AEQ36756901.
I went back to the Parts of Canada website and entered the part number again. When I looked at the image presented, I could see that underneath it, it said the part number was, in fact, AEQ36756901.
I explained this to Parts of Canada and after several emails they agreed the error was in their website and that NO RESTOCKING FEE would be charged and I would get a FULL REFUND.
I returned the ice maker and it was received by Parts of Canada on March 24, 2025. I did not receive any acknowledgment from them.
One week later I emailed Parts of Canada to let them know I was waiting for the refund.
Parts of Canada stated that it could take up to 15 business days to process the refund.
After 15 days (April 15), no refund had arrived. I contacted Parts of Canada who said the part arrived without a label and would need to be returned to the manufacturer!!!!
I sent an email protesting this delay and was told the refund would be issued minus a RESTOCKING FEE.
After several more email exchanges, I was told that the "request had been forwarded to a relevant department"
I was contacted by phone by a Malik and the laughably named "Customer Satisfaction" department.
He asked that I forward him the emails I had sent to Parts of Canada Service department.
I found this odd as he, as an employee of Parts of Canada should have access to the emails I sent.
Regardless, I sent him an email summarizing all the events of this order.
He came back to me a short time later and said that after reviewing the situation with management they had agreed to refund the stocking fee.
But he wouldn't leave it there. He had to add that when I placed the order I had received and confirmation email. AND IT WAS MY DUTY TO VERIFY THE PART ORDERED WAS CORRECT. The confirmation email actually ended up in my Junk so I never saw it.
"Oh, one more thing" Malik said "Could you write a review"
The next day, Thursday April 24, Malik emailed me asking if I had written the review. One day! After them dicking me around for almost two months.
I said I had not. That I was too busy.
On Monday April 28, Malik emailed again to ask if I had written the review.
I informed him that I had not yet received the restocking fee refund.
On Tuesday April 29, Malik stated that he was prepared to issue the refund ONCE I HAD MADE A REVIEW.
Of course, this is not what was agreed to. Parts of Canada had agreed to return the restocking fee. Pure and Simple.
And once again, Malik threw it back hat I had not acknowledged the confirmation email. WTF! Who acknowledges a “we are processing your order” email?
So, Malik, here is my review. Now send the refund.

Excellent service! Easy to find part and place the order. The part arrived on time and fit perfectly. Well done. Will definitely use again when more parts are needed.
