[IMPORTANT] PLEASE READ
Hello, So I was having the same issue as everyone is reporting. I was able to solve the problem with the IRS.
1. Call Taxpayer Advocate Service (they're part of the IRS) @ 877-777-4778 (this was on my original CP14 letter)
2. I told the IRS about the situation and they asked for my personal information
3. They said they received the payment but didn't post it to my account somehow, but they saw I had no balance.
4. I asked them to please send me a letter proving this balance was 0.
I would like to blame pay1040, but it seems the IRS admitted they made a mistake and sent me a balance due when I had no balance.
Double charged convenience fee…
I was charged the convenience fee twice. I submitted a request via their website which promised a response within 48 hours. I did not receive a response and it has been more than 2 weeks. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and resubmitted a request to pay1040. You cannot reach a live person or even find an address to send proof to remedy an error. Very disappointing. I do not recommend pay1040.
Not the best experience
In April, I paid my taxes through pay1040. However, in June, I received a notice from the IRS stating that I still owed the same amount of taxes, along with penalties and interest. I attempted to contact pay1040's customer service, but couldn't reach anyone as it seemed fake. Desperate for a solution, I reached out to the IRS, but they couldn't help me since they had no record of receiving my payment, and the confirmation number provided by pay1040 held no significance to them. After some persistence, I managed to contact pay1040 through the email address billersolutions.pay1040(at)fisglobal.com. They responded and assured me that they would resolve the issue with the IRS. Today, I checked my IRS account and discovered that the payment was finally reflected and credited.
Awful company
I paid my taxes using Pay1040 thru Turbo Tax, I used my credit card and saw it on my statement in April. I thought everything was good, until I got a nonpayment notice from the IRS in June.
I disputed my charges with my credit card. Pay1040 refused to refund my money.
I went back to the IRS and paid my taxes plus late fees from my bank account this time.
Still trying to get ahold of Pay1040. I held for 4 hours one day and over an hour several times. I have tried all hours of the day and night.
This is ridiculous!! I just want my money back!
I can’t believe the IRS is still using them as a payment processor!

Same as everyone else! On hold forever and just hangs up! I just got an email from them today confirming a payment that I supposedly just made. Which I have not! This seems like a scam!! I better not have any money coming out of my account or I will sue!

PLEASE DO NOT USE H&R BLOCK OR PAY1040…If i could give it a zero i would. I paid my taxes through this service in April and now we are almost in July and i got a letter from the IRS saying i have a open balance with them that is collecting interest. Please do not use this service. Not only do they charge a 40 dollar service fee for a service they are clearly not completing but they will not answer your countless emails or phone calls. Oh, and by the way the money came out of my account already, guess its been stolen. H&R block should be liable for this because they promote Pay1040’s services….Also when you call the IRS to explain whats going on they just tell you to call Pay1040… even though you explain they dont answer…

DO NOT USE!!!!! just received IRS notice that payment has NOT been received, yet the payment is on my credit card. have been on hold for over 70 minutes as I write this review… what an absolute disgrace! does anyone know the next step in the process of proving to the IRS that payment was made? and shame on H&R Block for encouraging the use of this company while telling their customers that it is safe and reliable - will not be going back to H&R Block again !! the review should get ZERO stars if it were possible! any assistance/ advice would be greatly appreciated with this horrible and I would think illegal company.
* UPDATE- just as others have experienced I waited for over 2 hours (2hr 12 min to be exact) and a recording came on with the message- “your call cannot be completed at this time, please call again in the future”

Used service to pay my taxes and just received a notice 2 months after payment that the IRS never received the payment that I have made.

I paid my taxes when filed in April and they weren't applied. I recieved a notice from the treasury and contacted the company via the website with no response. I've called several times and the customer service line hangs up on me each time.
I used this service through Intuit to pay taxes
I used this service to pay may taxes in April 2023 and in June 2023 I rec'd a notice from the IRS stating they haven't rec'd my funds and have assessed interest and late fees. Intuit shows it as paid, but the IRS sees it as "processing" meaning Pay1040 has the payment but they haven't released funds to the IRS. I've tried to email Pay1040, but no response. I've tried to call about 6 times from 1.5 hours to 3 hours on hold before hanging up. They are taking money and drawing interest on it before they release it. Do NOT use this service.

I tried to pay my taxes through them. They took my money but I received a notice from the IRS saying it was never paid. Their customer service system hung up on me ten times before putting me on hold for over three hours... I will NEVER use this service again.
IRS never got my tax payment I made with Pay1040
I paid my taxes through Pay1040 on 17 April 2023 and got the confirmation email. About 2 weeks ago I got a payment notice from the IRS stating they never received my payment. I contacted the IRS and they said they could not find my payment so I should call Pay1040. I tried calling them 5 times, being on hold for over 30 minutes without someone trying to help or just put down the phone. I filled in a form on their website for them to call me and got a message stating they will be in contact after 24 hours, it has now been 72 hours and still nothing

Could not set up an account. Could not reach anyone for customer service either by phone or e-mail. It appears they are willing to render a service but only if you can get it to work. It took a few tries to get the payment to go through. It's clear the company has no concern about customer service.
DOESN'T WORK
DOESN'T WORK: HR block uses this service to send estimated tax payments however the pay1040.com doesn't create any receipts, and so none of the thousands of dollars of estimated tax payments are registered by the government, effectively blowing money into the wind. When creating an account as advised by HR block, none of the past transactions are visible, though the money is gone from the checking account.
