Trustworthy and reliable and honest both company and staff

I have just signed both my dogs to PD insurance after a very unpleasant and expensive experience with another well known pet insurance company. Luckily I was able to change and I had PD insurance recommended to me by several other people. I can't praise the customer support team enough. It was a truly incredible experience, very knowledgeable and transparent advice and walking me through the process and just there for me 24/7. My first contact was with Trish who is an incredible ambassador for this company. My policy is very clear and concise and easy to understand that is a breathe of fresh air. The company itself has amazing transparency of all it's legal and regulatory compliance and is intended to make their customers lives so much easier and I have a great feeling of security that I didn't with my previous insurance company. I would absolutely recommend this company to any pet owners who are trying to navigate the tricky situation of insurance. Well done.

Not an accident??????

My dog went to after hours after getting through our baby gate and getting the lid off her biscuits she consumed a whole lot so I had to get her stomach flushed out.
PD insurance claim that this is not an accident therefore will not pay out???
It blows my mind that they can get away with this and I would not recommend you take out pet insurance with them . I’m very angry.

Overeating, even if unintended, doesn't fall under this definition. We have been with PD for 3 years now

We have been with PD for 3 years now. Definitely love their services. My basset hound had an skin allergy and ears infection recently. So after 2 visits with the Vet we just email the team for a claim. We just get clinical reports and send off our invoices, they accessed the claim super fast, after 2 days money are already shown in our bank. Thank you PD, and we will definitely stay with PD for long long term 👍

Beware of hidden and unreasonable clauses

We changed to PD from PetPlan when we purchased 2 new cats and 1 dog. Everything seemed straight forward when signing up and I thought PD sounded like it cared a bit more than some others so we gave them a go, but man I'm kicking myself now.

We had 2 operations on our dogs eyes that our old provider and plenty of other providers cover, but good old PD had what I consider a hidden clause (clearly in the agreement, but nestled down in pages of other waffle) and was the only single operation that wasn't covered by our policy so you would of thought they would point that out as being something we needed to be aware of..........nope.

So their tag like of 'If something happens to your fur baby, the last thing you want is to be left wondering whether you can afford medical care' was a total joke as just when we needed them they walked away.

These guys actually care about our dog

My sister recently insured her dog with these guys and they’ve been amazing. The support staff in the phone are lovely and they really seem to care about animal wellbeing. Highly recommend.

Don’t expect to be covered for an accident, they class any further implications from that accident as illness and won’t cover you for any vet charges for the treatment resulting from the ACCIDENT very disappointed and won’t recommend at all

Hi Titan many thanks for your feedback, whilst I am unable to comment on others products in market, we pay 100% of claim less excess against the claim/plan limit which will have an impact on the premium we charge, so rest assured the most you have to pay is simply our excess with PD. Don't bother

At first it was easy to sign up & now when trying to claim and use my policy, it has become very difficult. The lack of response to my emails and the wait (around 4 weeks) to get a response is not what I had signed up for. I have received the same tempated email asking for more information to which I have provided. Please get back to me about my claim!

Unfortunately, I will be changing providers as you have not met the basic expectations of a company - providing the service that you have advertised.

I had a feeling that this was too good to be true. Time to spread some awareness about the poor customer experience.

Worst insurance company

Worst insurance company, doesn’t even deserve a 1 star!!
Our dog had an allergic reaction to a worming tablet, and firstly the company argued that we were 5 hours off meeting the waiting period criteria. I noted that they had actually mucked up our “annual policy” timing as our cover was 1 day short, and if this had started at the correct time we would’ve been covered. They agreed with the muck up and said they didn’t know what happens (but still refused to cover us!!).

Then they said the worming tablet may qualify as an allergy and be covered, to which they followed up to decline the claim based on an allergic reaction to a worming tablet being “ingestion of a foreign object.” We have gone back with evidence that medicine cannot be deemed a "foreign object", with which the company responded to say even if it was an allergy, it would be an illness and have a 21 day waiting period applied. Despite being told over the phone that an allergy would be considered an "accident" and hence, no waiting period applied and our claim would be accepted.
This company will do anything in its power to not have to pay out. Do not fall for the positive reviews like we did. Would not recommend

They advertise claims paid out for…

They advertise claims paid out for valid claims within 2 days. Complete lie. Never had a claim paid out in that time frame. Usually takes minimum of 2 weeks closer to 4 weeks and that is after numerous phone calls. And dont bother emailing, they dont answer. Ever. Always the same excuse, we are short staffed.

Excellent service until the end!

Recently lost my fur baby Simba, he got really sick over a year ago, lots of vet visits and specialist care over the last year. PD made the whole thing so easy for us. Quick and easy claim process, staff was so professional and truly caring. Stayed with us right till the end. Even sent us a beautiful sympathy card with chocolates. Beautiful words, brought tears to my eyes! Really worth the premium we paid, honestly would have been happy to pay a lot more for the outstanding service! Have been recommending to all our mates. Highly recommend! Truely caring wonderful pet loving team. Won’t think twice to come back to you when we are ready for our next fur baby! Thank you for everything! Wish you all the very best!
