No warranty on IEM cables
No warranty on IEM cables. I guess that about sums things up. I have various Penon headphones and cables and had so far been pleased with heir customer service. Unfortunately, my latest purchase included a cable that had a problem. The plug rattled and something seems to be amiss because I get unbalanced sound or no sound on one of the IEMs at times. The initial response was to please check it on another device, even though I indicated I tried it on 4 sources. Next I was told to send photos, which I did. Based on the photos, I got a message that it seemed like the shrink wrap had not been properly applied. Instead of taking this as an opportunity to resolve the issue by replacing the defective cable, I was told to unscrew the plug and see if I could not get it sorted myself. I did unscrew the plug but with the wrap being loose, I have no way to move it to look inside because the cable/wrap are to wide for the hole for the cover to move. When I indicated this to customer service, I no longer got any reply. So, now I'm stuck with a defective product, no solution, no refund and a firm conviction never to buy any more of their products. The cable was on sale for around USD 80, so no sense starting any legal action to try to recover it as that will cost more than I will get back. Oh well. Just be warned and buy local!
