i like the website and the idea of it, i have meet a real person that we have been sending letters back and forth. I will say that the website and service does come with its downside, first of the website is extreamly slow, to the point it cant even load the conversation with the person im sending letters to or other people for the fact. And sending and recieving letters takes approx 1,5 months pr letter to arrive and send.

Worthless.

I would recommend deleting your account and using alternative Pen Pal apps like Slowly.

I signed up thinking I was going to connect with people from around the world, and what I got was AI generated images and AI generated chat which you can spot a mile away from woman wanting to use Telegram, Whatsapp and other alternative chat programs. Such a shame as it had potential but likely just a bot site used for scamming cash for postcards with no origin. You have been warned.

There's not even a settings button to delete my profile and it costs too much money. I wish I would have found the review page first.

I bought a three month membership subscription about a month ago. Penpal.me keeps suggesting pen pals that have similar interest to me. I sent a message to numerous of them and got no reply. Additionally I send numerous messages to other profiles that are of interest to me and I got no reply. On the other hand I keep receiving emails from Penpal.me with women soliciting me for sexual relationships. Many of these sexual emails do not show up in my message bank on Penpal.me, they only show up in my gmail.com account. A few weird persons contact me both via email and via my message inbox, they write a few words and I reply to them, thinking that they are real persons but then I never hear from them again. I am here wondering if these messages are coming from dead people/ ghosts. I strongly believe that Penpal.me is now a scam. It might have started off genuine a few years ago but now from my experience it is shaping out to be someone collecting money under false pretense. There is no customer support, there is no one to correspond with to ask questions about the service. I get no real penpal but get lots of sexual advances and suggestive talk. I will definitely be reporting this website for further scrutiny

Ich hatte einem Mann aus Italien meine Email Adresse gegeben und da wollte er schon Sexy Bilder von mir haben. So etwas mache ich bestimmt nicht mehr wieder. Es ist doch immer das gleiche und ich bin sehr darüber enttäuscht.

Man muss zuviel Geld ausgeben für nur Penfriends. Und die meisten die schreiben sind aus Afrika oder Asien, die dann gleich nach der Telefonnummer fragen zwecks Whatsapp. Ist für mich nicht im Sinne von Brieffreundschaft.

I’ve tried connecting quite a few times, and despite it claiming not to be a dating site, ment immediately wanted to exchange emails to avoid using the site. The ones that appear to be very handsome and successful use this same line…when asked what they do for work…..the response has been…”I maintain engineering, or Ill platforms or some vague platform kind of job. Notice that the responses do not actually answer anything personal. And eventually you start seeing responses that appear to be cut and paste. Worse waste of money and time.

I written several e mails to the support team, no help !!

These people aren't real. I keep getting weird letters where the person can't even talk right. It's either bots or scammers. I got 1 postcard and it was a scammer asking me to join his snapchat. I'm done with this site.

This site is a joke! You pay to send postcards with limited amounts of words you can write and the postcard takes months to arrive to the recipient. Awful service. Never again.

To echo previous reviews about no technical support. The site at times shoots itself in the foot because you must have some special computer screen size just to complete a CC payment for a postcard. Hard to believe! I have actually contacted a few REAL humans who write chatty and interesting postcards. Other times, I requested help regarding my postcards that got lost, and never got an answer. But the biggest problem is you get no help when you hit a technical glitch.

In short, I suffered a military romance scam. I was not communicating with the man in the picture...er warning? Don't bother with this site, perhaps the SITE is a scam site itself. There are real, genuine people in the REAL WORLD and there are REAL PEOPLE online, research first! Penpal.me would have to prove that it's a penpal writing site! I won't hold my breath! What a joke!

I subscribed to the monthly service so I could IM people. Everyone I sent a friend request to "accepted" my request, but NOT ONE responded to my initial texts. As well, it costs 2.49 to send a paper postcard, I sent many. No response. I question whether this is legit or not.

I am a highly educated, well traveled guy. I purchased a three- month membership that allows users unlimited ability to send penpal requests to other users. I must have reached out to 200+ other users and not one acknowledgement. I submitted a “ ticket” to the “ support” team thinking I must be doing something wrong. Again, nothing leading me to conclude that this is probably a scam.

Tried to send a " postcard" I have enough "credits" bit this mob want me to purchase more credits.
This mob is nothing short of a scam. And should be investigated for fraudulent activity.

I have been on penpal.me for a few months now and have written to 1 person so far. The site is safe and secure, the postcards are great and I look forward to sending to more people soon.

Apparently there is another service that is also called penpal but has world at the end of the web address. I was so frustrated and confused when the site told me that my login information doesn't work and I cannot reset the password as my email isn't registered in the system! Went here to leave a review and saw the discrepancies in the domains.

The difference is that this penpal.me sends cards! Like real printed cards that you can create online. The other one is more like regular social network.

wrote my first penpal.me postcard and received a card real quick after - the physical postcard across the world is a nice way to interact and contact people with the same interests!
