Avoid at all costs!
I had a horrible experience with Pet Care Veterinary Hospital that I will never forget.
My sugar glider went in for dental surgery and was significantly injured when a scalpel cut off part of the patagium attached to his arm (his "wing") while being prepped for surgery. Let that sink in--he was hurt while he was sedated, before the procedure even began, and was sliced on the arm while getting ready for DENTAL surgery.
Because of this injury, which cut over an inch of patagium away from his arm, my sugar glider had to be separated from his bonded cage mate for nearly two months while he healed.
The mishap was presented to us as a "small problem," devoid of any real apology or plan for making the injury better.
Anyone familiar with sugar gliders knows how devastating and stressful forced separation is for them. The trauma this caused for both of my gliders was heartbreaking to witness, and it took an enormous emotional toll on me as a loving and attentive pet owner, especially with the lack of compassion we received from PCVH.
This was not a minor mistake--it was a serious lapse in care and handling. The physical injury, prolonged recovery, and the emotional trauma that followed were completely unavoidable.
This comes after a second experience, where they completely misdiagnosed a pet of mine, leading to its prolonged suffering while cancer slowly ate it alive from the inside.
I will NEVER return to this hospital. Frankly, I wouldn't even trust their practice with a pet rock. If you value your pet's safety, well-being, and emotional health, steer clear of Pet Care Veterinary Hospital.
