Absolutely the best service possible.
After our 3 month old Cockerpoo pup had an accident which broke his bottom jaw we had to take him straight to the vets to be sorted.
Sainsbury’s dealt directly with the vets and paid up with no fuss or palaver.
I was never contacted by Sainsbury’s re the cause of the accident, what happened or for any other information which I felt was amazing, they just got on with what a good insurance company should do.
Has he had only been insured a few days previous to the claim my first direct debit payment had not even been taken!!!!
Cannot praise this company enough.

The Sainsbury's corporate website contains inappropriate information and a HUGE mistake - and they simply don't care - don't touch them

I rang Sainsbury pet insurance and I had a lovely girl called Hayley, she was very friendly I understand everything she told me, very professional. I just want her to know how good she really is. Thank you Hayley you made it so easy to get the right outcome for me.

All so quick and easy. After having a shock seeing my doggie so ill having to have an operation feelings were heightened, but Sainsbury’s pet insurance made claiming ever so easy and everything was seamless, taking the stress out of the experience. Thankyou it was one less stress to think about.

The process was very simple to claim for an injury to my cat. The vets could liaise directly with them, taking away any of the hassle for me and payment made quite quickly, directly to our vets. It was the first time we had claimed and I was very pleased with the smooth process and fairly quick payment.

Sainsbury’s kept me updated too, throughout.

Had taken our 9 year old cockapoo to her normal vets because she'd stopped eating and was lethargic, after x-ray and antibiotics, she became worse,took her to an out of hours emergency vet ,they found she'd got a spleanic tumour, which had ruptured, she showed no pain (also known as a silent killer,)she was put to sleep,sainsbury's pet insurance dealt with to different vet practices covering this claim, in this sad time could not of asked for a better service I received from them .5 STARS

Excellent service. Making a claim was very straightforward. All I needed was the vet's invoice. Settlement was in my bank within days. Highly recommend.

I am really impressed with Sainsbury's pet insurance, my claim couldn't have been any easier from my experiences with other pet insurance companies. I didn't have to do anything other than give my vet my policy number and to tell them to use Pawtal. I received notification that they had received my claim and claim was settled in 5-7 days along with notification. 5 stars.

Absolutely shocking service. Sainsbury’s Pet Insurance has been nothing but frustrating to deal with — poor communication, lack of accountability, and completely unacceptable customer service.

When people are dealing with the stress of looking after their pets, the last thing they need is to be messed around and treated like an inconvenience. This experience has been a complete letdown and far below what anyone would expect from a company of this size.

Avoid if you value your time, money, and peace of mind.

Would not even give them a 1 star if I had a choice.

Quick turn around, easy to navigate

Easy process to claim, didn't take them long at all to review and accept the 2 claims I put in from our regular vet and the emergency vet. Claim was paid promptly with only £35 disallowed what the emergency vets had charged in admin fees. Very pleased overall

I was really not expecting to be paid out as the terms and conditions of my policy is that to pay out for a claim on dental my cat was required to have annual check ups, and as she hadn't had a vet visit since 2023, I was not optimistic. However after explaining that my cat was semi feral when I rescued her in 2020 and that in the almost 6 years that I have had her she still does not allow me to lift her. On the one occasion that I did successfully trap her it caused so much trauma (to all of us!) that I have avoided vet visits unless absolutely vital because being an indoor cat she is in no mortal danger. To my utmost surprise Sainsburys Pet Portal agreed to pay out, and I was extremely grateful for their excellent service.

First time I have needed to make a claim for my beautiful Tigger, he's had 14 teeth out and making a claim for his vets fees was really easy. It was paid quickly + without any fuss so I'm really happy with the whole process. Would definitely recommend Sainsbury's Pet Insurance to anyone looking for good cover at a reasonable price 👍

Excellent service from Sainsbury's with my recent claim.
Easy to use interface, superb communication and claim settled in less than 24 hours.
Had 2 previous insurers, never had to claim but moved due to increased quotes.
This is my 2nd year with Sainsbury, renewals were reasonable.
I'm super impressed all round.

I am in dispute with Sainsbury's who are trying to exclude any miscellaneous lumps related to my dog's AGs. She hasn't got a problem with them, but just because 3 years ago she has a small cyst that burst in that areas (and no problems since), they are claiming I withheld information when I took out the policy (I didn't as she doesn't have a problem) and now they are trying to exclude it. I intend fighting them through the ombudsman as it is unfair.

Lost my cat last month still unable to access portal despite complaining daily, now I've waited more than the stated 5 days to still not have an answer about my claim and told today be a further 5 days! Well thanku sainsburys for ruining my Christmas!

Incredible service.. incredible speed of settling the claims I have submitted.
I was employed by an insurance broker prior to retirement and know how insurers can take the flack.. but the service I have received is second to none.
