This is a scam

This is a scam. I opened an account and paid $49 and discovered this is a useless service because it is not flexible to choose what service you need. There are things that I have already done and it wants to make me to it again. Plus there is zero customer service and NO ONE ABSALOUTELY CARES that you write emails and chat and ask for help this is 100% AI based and if you eat the hook and open an account you cannot do anything. The delete account button doesn't work no one cares.

Horrible experience thus far

I began this process on February 5,2026 and have yet to get a response from a human regarding an update. According to my dashboard, they've sent 6 emails, to which no reply has ever been received. It shows they've attempted to call 11 times with 3 calls leaving messages. What's frustrating is, I received an email from petty that an agent had spoken with the defendant in 3 occasions, verified it was the defendant, and discussed the demand letter. Come to find out, they've never spoken to anyone based on the transcript from the calls. My dashboard stats that I'm ready to file, since it's been well over the amount of time allowed for a response, but I can't even access the file case button. When I reached out to support, Zoey, the AI bot, responded saying the 14 day waiting period had passed; however, it could see from case data that my court documents hadn't been generated, which suggests there may be a technical issue. It then told me I would need a human agent. I requested the human agent and received a response from Luke; which may also be an AI bot. Like stated that he could see my case was stuck at demand_ready, even though the demand letter was delivered. He stated that he would escalate this to the team so that my case status would be corrected. He said he would follow up once fixed. This was on March 24. On March 31st, I reached out because I hadn't had any updates. Again Luke responded with the same thing I was told on the 24th. It is now April 15th, and I still haven't heard anything. At this point, I could have figured out how to do a small claims case on my own. Everyone is using AI to do the jobs of humans, but it's causing lots of frustration among us humans that have paid real money and can't speak to a real agent. Some things aren't meant for AI.

What I liked most is how everything is organized in one place. I could upload receipts, messages, and photos, and it turned them into a structured case file. The follow-up system is also helpful since I didn’t have to chase the other party myself.

Refused to provide a refund after not…

Refused to provide a refund after not sending the letter. They use AI responses to give you the run around and send you in a loop. I’ve requested to cancel my account and be issued a refund MULTIPLE TIMES but the robot 🤖 Zoey that they claim is a real person (it isn’t) just asks the same silly question over and over, then I respond and nothing happens until I follow up again and the same circular process happens again. They claim only the founder can issue the refund but then there is no response. I’ve sent 10-20 emails over weeks requesting a simple refund due to a letter that for whatever reason wasn’t sent despite me being assured it would be.

Only got so far before everything stopped, stuck on ready to file with 2 cases against uber and passenger for nearly 3 months now so clearly this was a scam, well at least I know from reading the other reviews

A Frustrating Experience from Start to Finish

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but my experience with Pettylawsuit was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others before they make the same mistake I did.

No Real Human Support — Just AI Smoke and Mirrors

The biggest red flag with this platform is that there is zero real human support. Every time I reached out with a question or concern, I received a generic AI-generated response promising that "someone will get back to you" — and that someone never did. For a service that charges real money, the least they can do is employ a real person to address real problems. If I wanted to deal with an AI, I would have used ChatGPT — for free.

Fraudulent Case Reporting

This is where things went from bad to outright dishonest. I filed two separate cases, and in both instances, I discovered that their reports claimed they had spoken with and discussed the case with someone — except they were emailing a no-reply address and calling a general messaging line that nobody answers. How can you document a conversation that never happened? That's not a clerical error; that's a fabrication, and it directly impacts the integrity of my legal filings.

Missed Deadlines with No Accountability

I was told documents would be ready within 24–72 hours. It has now been well over a week, and my case is still stuck at the "file for court" stage with no update, no explanation, and no resolution in sight. When legal timelines are involved, delays like this aren't just inconvenient — they can be genuinely harmful to your case.

The Owner Responds to Reviews But Not to Paying Customers

I found it telling that the owner has time to respond to every online bad-review, yet cannot manage to respond to the customers who are actively paying for his service. One has to wonder: is the business so overwhelmed — or so understaffed — that the owner is personally scrambling to do damage control online while real cases go ignored?

Bottom Line

This platform presents itself as a smart, AI-powered legal solution, but in practice it's an expensive disappointment with no transparency, no accountability, and no meaningful human oversight. Don't let the professional website fool you. Save your money, use a free tool like ChatGPT to guide yourself through the small claims process, and avoid the stress of chasing down a service that simply doesn't deliver what it promises.

Do not use Pettylawsuit. You will lose your money and gain nothing but frustration.

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I paid $30 for them to send the demand letter to the company that I am currently trying to sue. They did their "emails" and "calls" and when the 2 week wait was over to file the paperwork to proceed with small claims court, the first issue was it would not let me sign my documents in the portal, I tried numerous times but nothing. "Zoey" is just a bot, not an actual person. "Zoey" sent a docusign to my email, which I signed on 1/31/26 (not to mention, they missed spelled the company name that I was suing and when I pointed it out, she said that she would fix it on the official paperwork when they proceed with the filing). I then paid $200 for a processing fee and filing fee on 2/11/26 (I had to wait till I got paid). I paid the fee and "Zoey" said they will file. It is now 3/4/26 and I have been reaching out to get an update on my case as I have hear nothing back. I reached out to "zoey" and she shows in my portal that the 14 days is up and that I can file my case (after signing the docusign, they never updated my case info in the portal to reflect that I signed the agreement and paid the fee. I requested an update from support to speak with a live agent. "Zoey" said she would connect me with someone and typical response times are less than 2 hours... that was 2 business days ago... NO ONE messaged me. I have emailed the founder Larry, "Zoey" and their support email for updates.... CRICKETS. I went back to the portal, I now have 4 different conversations saying that she will be "expediting" the issue for someone to contact me and NO ONE HAS. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT USE PETTYLAWSUIT. THEY ARE SCAM ARTIST.

UPDATE: 2:37PM

Since for some reason, I am not able to respond to Larry's comments on my review, I will leave it here.

The $200 break down is as follows:

1. Court Filing Fee - $50
2. Serve defendant Fee - $150

Which was paid just a few short days of a month ago.

I find it very interesting that out of the MULTIPLE times that I have reached out for updates the past few dates, I get nowhere. All of a sudden now that I am leaving a review for everyone to know of the experience I have been having, you're very quick to jump on this.

Regarding "emailing" you with my case number and prioritizing it, I have. I have emailed you about 3 or 4 times INCLUDING "Zoey" AND your "support" team.

This "Zoey" character has finally provided me with an update maybe an hour or so ago and this was her response after I demanded a refund of my $200 for no one responding.

"Hello Anthony we see that you paid to submit to filing Febuary 11th. Which means this wasnt with your court until Febuary 19th (after presidents day) so we need to check for a case number. If they kick back the filing we have zero issue refunding you as we dont charge extra for filing and that would strictly be your state ourt fee and Process Server."

I have demanded an update by this coming friday 3/6/26 as to what is going on with my case.

Larry, please check your email as I am sure you will see the emails that I have sent you.

I would also like to note that my review was flagged for "defamatory" and had to be reviewed. Unsure as to why me sharing my experience is considered "defamatory?"

Hopefully we can move past this and I can actually get my court case filed as that is what I paid $200 for...

Once resolved, I can edit my review for the FULL experience and not just want I have experienced so far...

First, I’m sorry for the frustration you experienced. I understand how it feels when you’re waiting for an update and not getting a response.

That’s not the experience we want anyone to have.

A couple things I want to clarify for transparency for anyone reading:

- When you later chose to move forward with small claims filing, the $200 you paid included your state court filing fee and process of server costs, which are required by your particular court.

- petty does not charge a processing fee at all

Your case itself wasn’t ignored, but it did run into two issues we occasionally see:

a portal signing issue on certain devices, which is why we sent the DocuSign link so you could sign successfully, and

a support delay. Over the past month we’ve grown quickly and support volume has been higher than usual while we expand the team.

One additional point: when your case started, you originally selected just the demand letter option, not our Tap-to-File service. Our team was still helping move the filing forward once you decided to proceed, which is something we often assist with even when users start with the demand-letter-only option.

That said, you absolutely should have received a timely update, and I’m sorry that didn’t happen.

If you’re open to it, please email larry@pettylawsuit.com with your case number and I will personally make sure your case is reviewed and prioritized.

Also will add Petty isn’t a "scam" - we’ve helped thousands of people start small claims cases but when someone has a frustrating experience, it’s on us to fix it.

Terrible company/Scam

Terrible company. Seemed good at the start so I paid The $50. Nothing has worked and It is not like they advertise it is. Everything has been wrong, Everything. They don't respond to emails. They don't respond to the help chat. The company has many many issues to work through. Customer service is non existent. Save your money.

I filed a lawsuit against experian credit bureau in South Carolina. They sent the demand letter to the corporate office and not the the egistered agent
They also sent a email to the president of the international division. Who lives overseas. I tried the chat on the website. It says human response in 2 hours. It's been 22 hour and no. Response, this place is a scam.

Not a legitimate, functioning business

Paid pettylawsuit exactly one month ago to help resolve an issue whereby I paid a business $318 to reduce the calves of a brand new pair of $2,200 boots and they instead destroyed them beyond repair and then ghosted me. I’ve had to follow up with pettylawsuit over a dozen times, many of my emails bounce, and they’ve still taken no action beyond sending a letter and email. The letter went unanswered and the email received only an auto-reply. No further action has been taken and I can’t even get a response, adding insult to injury considering how upset I am about the issue for which I engaged their assistance. Cannot more strenuously recommend steering clear of this sham of a business. I don’t know if it’s truly a sham or they’re just the least organized business on Earth but I’ve lost an entire month during which I could’ve and would’ve just filed a small claim.

UPDATE: It is now March and a small claim still has not been filed on my behalf. The only action that was done was an attempt at filing in the wrong jurisdiction with a money order for the wrong amount, and I contacted the company as soon as I received the notice from the court. To this day, no one has responded to me. I have received countless emails advertising how much better the business has gotten - nope, it hasn’t - and I’ve received two emails addressed to other people. I keep trying to get in touch with a human, including founder Larry, and no one responds. I have had it! I’ve been out $2,500 since December and every day that goes by makes it less likely that I will ever recover the money. It would’ve cost me less to have lost an entire day from work to go to the courthouse - something I did not want to do and paid this company to do for me. Unbelievable.

Negative 5 stars. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. IT IS A SCAM. The sad part is I think they think they’re running a legitimate business but there’s not a competent person there who knows what running a legitimate business entails. Customers pay you for a service and in turn you provide the service. Pettylawsuits takes money from people already in some state of financial distress and then does nothing but spam them to death boasting about improvements that haven’t been made.
