excellent service and staff

Brilliant service dealing with this company and its a breath of fresh air being able to speak to someone that can always support with knowledge and experience.

Marcus & Brook are a great asset to the company and it was because of them that we retained their services.

Uninsured for 8 days, stopped by Police, and blacklisted due to PIB’s negligence

I am absolutely appalled by PIB’s incompetence and lack of care. Due to their own failure to distinguish between my home trading address and my registered office—a distinction I made clear from day one—they cancelled my policy and branded me with a "misrepresentation" marker.

The timeline of their failures is staggering:

Zero Notification: My policy was cancelled on 31st December, yet I was never notified. I only discovered the cancellation when I called them on 8th January.

Legal Jeopardy: Because PIB invited me to join the MID in late December and even took a premium payment from my bank in January, I believed I was fully covered. Consequently, I was pulled over by the police twice for driving an "uninsured" vehicle.

The Friday Brush-off: After admitting there was an issue, they promised to help me find a new policy. Instead, they waited until 17:28 on a Friday—two minutes before closing—to email stating they wouldn't help due to the "nature of the cancellation" (a situation they created).

I am now completely unable to obtain trade insurance anywhere because of this defamatory marker. PIB’s administrative failures have not only halted my business and loss of earnings but have put my driving license and criminal record at risk.

Avoid this broker at all costs if you value your livelihood and legal standing.

We suffered. Be warned!

Please be warned. We suffered a massive leak that collapsed our kitchen ceiling over a year ago, St Giles Insurance rejected my valid claim and I contested the undisclosed £10,000 excess for 'escape of water' on the block's insurance policy at the First-tier Tribunal against the RMC (Azure Management Company Ltd).

PIB Insurance argument:
"St Giles is now a subsidiary of PIB, making PIB the parent company and St Giles part of the wider PIB Group."

"We represent our client, Azure Management Company Ltd. Our role is to place our client’s insurance and provide support in the event of a claim. As the broker, we have no say in the applicable excess, whilst we can and we do negotiate on our client’s behalf, with the best will in the world, we cannot dictate an insurers premiums or terms. Regarding the damage to your property, it would be prudent to proceed with repairs at your own cost to prevent further loss, as would be expected of a prudent uninsured party."

FTT Decision:
"The Tribunal does not consider incurring the cost of a policy with a £10,000 excess was a reasonable outcome"

"Fortunately, such a situation is contemplated by the Lease which at Schedule 6, paragraph 2.4 states:
“If notwithstanding the extent of the risk and value as aforesaid the money receivable under such insurance shall be insufficient to meet the cost of the necessary works of the rebuilding repair or reinstatement then the deficiency shall be treated as a further item of expense under this Schedule recoverable from the tenants accordingly insofar as any such deficiency may relate to an excess limitation or exclusion under the terms of the Management Company’s insurance policy from time to time.”
